Riu Sri Lanka

Our family stayed at Hotel Riu Sri Lanka from 20th to 22nd, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived until our departure, every member of the team made us feel genuinely welcome with their warm smiles and exceptional hospitality. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained throughout our stay. Housekeeping did a fantastic job, ensuring everything was clean and comfortable every day. The food was outstanding, offering a wide variety of delicious dishes to suit every taste. We would especially like to thank Sathsara, Sewnini, and Sara from the dining team. Their friendly smiles, attentiveness, and excellent service made every meal a wonderful experience. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure we were well looked after. The entertainment team deserves tremendous praise. The Fusion Night was absolutely spectacular, with amazing performances that showcased incredible talent. The evening shows were vibrant, engaging, and professionally organized. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Garden Party, which created a fun and lively atmosphere for guests of all ages. Our children had an amazing time at the Kids Club, which was one of the highlights of their holiday. A very special thank you to Neshtha, whose warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine care made every activity so much fun. She was wonderful with the children and made our kids feel happy, comfortable, and excited to return each day. The Bingo sessions were another family favourite, bringing everyone together for lots of laughter and fun. Combined with the beautiful beachfront, excellent pools, and outstanding facilities, there was always something enjoyable to do. Thank you to the entire team at Hotel Riu Sri Lanka for making our holiday so special. Your dedication to providing exceptional service did not go unnoticed, and you created memories our family will cherish for years to come. An amazing hotel set right on a private beach. During our visit the sea was quite rough and the beach was red-flagged, but this barely took away from the experience — the infinity pool overlooking the ocean was incredible, close enough to hear the waves crashing, and gave us all the beach zen we needed. The hotel itself was spotless. Of all the resorts I've stayed at, this is the first where everything was exceptionally clean and well looked after — a real credit to the housekeeping team. The buffet restaurant was excellent, with a varied menu so you were never eating the same thing two days running. Most of our group were vegetarian and the team catered for us really well — if there was only a meat option on display, we just had to ask the chef and they'd happily prepare a fresh vegetarian dish for us. The staff throughout were accommodating and went above and beyond. A special mention to Thisara at the front desk, who made our stay so much easier by keeping us informed and resolving any issues quickly. Thisan at the bar made fantastic cocktails and always served them with a smile. And Iresha at the buffet restaurant was consistently warm and welcoming. Staff like these are a real asset to the resort and made the whole place feel like home. The one area for improvement was the themed restaurants, which felt a bit like a variation of the buffet rather than a distinct experience, with limited vegetarian options. That said, the buffet was so good every night that we were happy to stick with it rather than seek a change of scenery.

Value for money. Good set of choices for all meals and evening snacks. Bar was open till 12 midnight which was awesome .

We had a great stay at the RUI Palace, the staff were really friendly. It was clean and a towel art left everyday. Would definitely go back again.

Every thing was good but the there was thin fair lady in the morning buffet was very unfriendly and rude. Which made us really uncomfortable. She didn’t even have a smile on her face. We were a family with 6. 3 adults and 3 children. We sat on a table where there were enough space for us to. This lady came towards us and said don’t sit here in a rude way.
