Calido Maris Hotel

We stayed at Calido Maris this August, and it was a mixed bag. Some parts were genuinely good, others left us underwhelmed. There was a faint smell throughout the hotel from the moment we arrived. It never actually went away. We just stopped noticing it after a day or two. The evening entertainment let the place down. Mini disco was posted for 20:15 every single day on the board by reception, but it didn't always happen, and nobody bothered updating the sign on the nights it got skipped. When it did run, it started late more often than not, sometimes by half an hour. The amphitheater shows were worse, just approx. three nights a week. Other hotels we've stayed at usually run a disco and an amphitheater show together. Here you got one or the other, never both. Public areas weren't kept clean enough, restrooms included. Some of that is on other guests, sure, but the cleaning staff didn't seem to be keeping up regardless of the cause. Our room itself was spacious and got cleaned daily. Two things bugged us though. The hairdryer above the sink had bare wires sticking out of it, which isn't a small thing to overlook. And a section of the curtain was torn loose for the entire stay, never fixed, even though housekeeping came through every day. We never reported either issue ourselves, but both were easy to spot. We were on floor -1 near the bar, so music played loud until 11pm each night. To their credit, it cut off right on time, every night, no exceptions. Wifi barely worked outside the room. The AC ran fine the whole trip, no breakdowns. The beach was the best part. You walk in over pebbles and there are rocks further out, so water shoes aren't optional. The water was clean except for one day when some food scraps floated by, probably dumped from a boat passing through. The beach itself never felt crowded, sunbeds were always there when we wanted one, and it was actually quiet, no music blasting. Lunch at the beach restaurant had a decent spread. Watch out for the flies though, they bite. Pools and slides were great. Sunbeds filled up early there too, but there were always free ones later in the day. The one recurring annoyance was pool closures caused by small kids without swim diapers, not the hotel's fault, just other guests being careless. Two of the three poolside bars shut at 4pm, so the last one standing had brutal lines for the rest of the afternoon. Food was good, no complaints there. Coffee was weak. The wear and tear was hard to ignore. Carpets and furniture in the hallways looked old and tired. The orchids by reception, and a few others around the property, turned out to be fake, and dusty ones at that. So where does that leave it. The beach, the pools, and the food were solid. But between the smell, the patchy cleaning, and furniture that's seen better days, this hotel doesn't really match the star rating it's selling itself on.

The hotel is totally fine for the price range. Staff was helpful and handled everything fast. Rooms are new and great and were cleaned every day by some very nice ladies who also put some candies for my daughter on her bed. The transfer from the airport is about 1 h and 30 min. The atmosphere was great over all. Pools are a bit crowdy but the beach was really fine. Water sliders were great. It was not noisy despite from the pool. The food was good and has many choices. Animation team was good too and the shows every night were nice especially for the kids. The walk to the beach is about 3 minutes and you have to go through a tunnel. The only thing I did not like was waiting for the elevators to go up and down every single time.

Lovely experience and hotel. From the moment we walked in, they looked after us very well and accommodated us best they could. Traveling with my in-laws who are over 70 and our 2 young children, 1 & 8. They catered for our whole family and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Yasemen on the front desk was extremely helpful and welcoming. Also making sure our rooms were next-door to our parents with a seaview. The waiter in the restaurant went out of his way every time we came, he was really good with our kids and even learnt Albanian to communicate with our family! The splash children's pool was our favourite. The variety of food was okay. Located less than 2 minutes walk from the beach. Shops can be easily accessed about 5 minutes in the taxi. Overall, great experience. Would definitely recommend to families

Been staying here with my 2 children. Overall it’s a good hotel but there were a few minor points that makes me not give a 5 star review. Pro’s: - Very clean and well maintained - Enough to do for the kids and adults throughout the day and night - Nice and safe pool with nice waterslides - Most of the staff are kind and helpful Con’s: - Bed quality is low. Didn’t sleep well at all the whole trip - even though the food is well made and sufficient choice, Food is same most of the time, especially at pool area - If you are not placing towels at the pool area before 8:00, you can forget about having 2 beds anywhere, this is really bad because it makes me feel like they are over their capacity with guests. You notice it too at the restaurant All in all, would i go back? Maybe, if there’s no other choice because it’s still a good hotel overall. Kids had fun and if they enjoyed, i enjoy. But next time i don’t want to look for sun beds for 30 minutes and would like different varieties with food

The bathroom and toilet hygiene in particular was impeccable there wasn't the slightest satın or unpleasant odor. You can stay here with complete peace of mind
