⭐ A Wonderful First Trip to Turkey – With One Important Concern This was my first time visiting Turkey, and overall, my experience was absolutely awesome. Turkey is a beautiful country, and I really enjoyed my holiday. I would definitely love to visit again. I stayed at Sun City Apartments & Hotel in Side, and there were many things I enjoyed about my stay. However, there was one significant issue that I feel the hotel management needs to address: cats and dogs being allowed to roam freely around the hotel, particularly in the cafeteria and dining areas. During my stay, cats and dogs were regularly walking around freely, including where guests were eating. They would approach tables looking for food, and on one occasion, one of the cats actually came up to me and licked my fingers while I was eating. I understand that cats and dogs are very common in Turkey, and I have nothing against animals. However, there should be appropriate boundaries when it comes to areas where food is being prepared, served and consumed. This is not simply about whether someone likes or dislikes animals. Some guests may have allergies to cats or dogs, while others may have asthma, a fear of animals, or simply be uncomfortable having animals around them while they are eating. There are also obvious hygiene considerations when animals are able to approach dining tables and guests' food. I believe the hotel should seriously consider keeping its resident cats and dogs away from the cafeteria, restaurant and other food-service areas. The animals can still be cared for and treated kindly while having designated areas away from where guests are eating. It was disappointing because my overall experience in Turkey was fantastic, and this was really the main downside of my stay. I hope Sun City Apartments & Hotel takes feedback like this seriously and introduces better measures to prevent animals from entering dining areas. With improved management of the cats and dogs around the food areas, the experience could be much more comfortable, hygienic and inclusive for all guests. Elevators/Lifts should also be inplace. Overall, I had an amazing first experience in Turkey and would definitely visit the country again. 🇹🇷❤️

An honest review about Sun City Hotel. I came here with my partner, my 2nd time in Side (my 5th visiting turkey) and his first time. We booked the hotel around March, so a "last minute trip". The good things first: 1)The entertainment team were amazing. They got everyone involved and made the days fun. 2)The staff were all lovely. The bar staff at the cocktail bar were always happy and joyful! 3)X3 pools. A quiet pool, water slide pool and main pool where the music is. 4)We went to the beach owned by the hotel, wasn’t a fight for sun-loungers. 5)If you didn’t want the buffet, they had a bar that served lovely food. 6)Happy hour! 2 cocktails for £6 (try the strawberry daiquiri) 7)Photographer was a lovely gent who made us feel very comfortable. 8)A mini market reasonably priced...but also a Migros 5-minute walk away. 9)Safe cost £30 (£10 + £20 deposit) which we got back. 10)Locked room for your bags after check out. 11)Lots of entertainment. From a foam party, to bingo. The "bad" things: 1) Firstly, you must pay for the Wi-Fi which wasn’t mentioned anywhere. I paid £10 for the week though. Theres no WI-FI free points either. 2)The all-inclusive bar isn’t the best. They had soft drinks, however if you wanted an alcoholic drink the selection wasn’t the best. They had vodka, gin, white rum, dark rum, sambuca, beer and wine. No cocktails or other spirits which wasn’t mentioned anywhere. 3)The sunbed wars were real. Around 15 sunbeds get the sun, the rest are in the shade all day. 4)As said, cocktails weren’t included. The alcoholic drinks weren't the best for all inclusive. 5)Online it says the beach has an all-inclusive bar. However, it was only apple juice, orange juice, pineapple juice and water. You could buy ice-creams but there was nowhere to eat. So, a bit misleading when it says the all-inclusive drinks//food is also on the beach. 5)The shuttle bus to the beach was heaving, people pushing on. Wait for the 10:00am one. 6)The towels were only changed twice in the week. They made our bed, however it wasn’t fresh bedding. 7)During checkout, they cut off our wrist bands. So, we lost them at 12am, however we weren’t leaving till 6pm and others got to keep theirs? However, we did get a ticket to give us food and drink till 2pm. 8)Getting a table at breakfast, lunch and dinner was hard. Dinner was 18:30-20:00, and people would be pushing and shoving for tables and the deserts. We ended up eating at the bar because it’d be pushing 20:00 and you still wouldn’t be able to get a table. 9)A very over-crowded hotel. Not enough tables for food and entertainment for people there were. 10)The room layout was kind of dodge. The room layout was that you walked in and had the kitchen, bathroom and living room, then went through another door to the bedroom. The aircon was above the door, so when you went to bed you had to leave the bedroom door open to feel any of the cool. Not the hotels fault though! The shower wasn’t the greatest, we had rusty nails stick out in ours from an old shower pole I assume. Would I go again? Probably not. I would go again for the staff, but not the hotel itself, Or if we did, we would go back at a quieter time (No ones fault but our own for going smack bam in the middle of the 6 weeks holiday). If we did go back though, probably wouldn’t do all inclusive either. The food at the bar was a lot nicer, you could get a 2-course meal for about 2000 tl (£30 at the time of this review) and the 2 for 1 cocktail were great.

Just got home and, honestly, I’m relieved to be out of this hotel. This was my husband’s first experience of an all inclusive holiday and, unfortunately, I’m really disappointed that this was his first impression of one. If this is supposed to represent an all inclusive experience, it certainly doesn’t portray it very well. The food was shocking. There was very little choice, and what was available was basically repeated every day. The queues were ridiculous, I’ve never been anywhere where you have to stand around for 30 minutes just to get your dinner. People were taking entire trays of certain foods, leaving nothing for everyone else, and there simply didn’t seem to be enough food or organisation for the number of guests. This was every meal, and the snack bar just seemed like it was leftovers from the previous day. Despite being sold as an all inclusive, you then find yourself having to pay extra for things that I would consider pretty basic at an all inclusive hotel such as ice cream, WiFi, the safe in your room and other extras. At this point, you really have to question exactly what you’re paying for. The sun lounger situation was an absolute joke. There are nowhere near enough loungers for the number of people staying here. Guests would put towels down and disappear to the beach for the entire day, with staff doing nothing about it. Then, when guests complained and staff did start removing towels, we witnessed them removing towels from people who were actually in the pool, which understandably caused arguments. It was chaos. The obvious solution would be to have enough loungers in the first place. The restaurant and bar staff deserve a completely different review, because they were fantastic. Friendly, polite, helpful and genuinely couldn’t fault them. They would bring drinks to your table or even to your lounger (if you can get one) and always had a smile on their faces. They were one of the only things that made the stay bearable. The entertainment team were also brilliant. The three boys were fantastic and worked incredibly hard to get people involved without being annoying or pushy. They genuinely made a rubbish holiday into an okay one and gave us a reason to stay around the hotel. It’s honestly a shame that such a good entertainment team is wasted in a hotel like this. The lady who runs the kids club always looked miserable and I personally never saw much interaction from her, but the three boys were fantastic and deserve recognition. The room was basic, to put it nicely. It was clean-ish, but looked absolutely nothing like the photos advertised. In fact, the entire hotel looks nothing like the photos. Housekeeping came in every few days, made the bed and that was about it. I didn’t notice any proper cleaning being done or towels being regularly changed. Reception staff were awful. Rude, dismissive and completely unhelpful and unfortunately, this wasn’t just our experience. We saw them speaking to other guests in exactly the same way. On checkout day, our wristbands were removed at 12pm despite our transfer not being until late that evening. So we were left without food and drinks for the rest of the day. Even more frustratingly, we saw other guests who had been allowed to keep their wristbands. We did eat at the à la carte restaurant attached to it, but this was not the expectation when you book an all inclusive. However, it was the nicest meal we’d had all week and the bald man who runs it was amazing. So very friendly, and genuinely nice we wish we’d given him more of our money during the week. The prices were reasonable also. We were also promised multiple times we could have a late checkout and were specifically told to come back and pay for it on the day. When we went back to pay on the day, we were then told it couldn’t be done. Why tell guests something is available and send them away to come back and pay for it, only to then say it isn’t possible? As we planned our whole last day around having the room to shower and nap etc. Overall, this hotel feels like it’s trying to provide the absolute bare minimum and then charge you extra for anything remotely decent. For a very cheap, basic holiday, you could probably tolerate some of the shortcomings, but we paid a decent amount of money and expected considerably more. There are much better hotels available for similar prices. And I am genuinely glad I didn’t bring my children. They would have been bored, and I wouldn’t have been happy with the food, facilities or overall experience for them. The restaurant/bar staff and entertainment team deserve huge credit because they did everything they could, but unfortunately good staff can only do so much when the hotel itself is this disappointing. We won’t be returning, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it when there are much better options for similar money

Honest review The location is great nice 25 - 30 mins walk to old town side or just few minutes walk there are shops and restaurants. Close to beach if you find the short cuts 🤣. The atmosphere over in the main pool is great music is on entertainment staff are great. But good luck getting a sun lounger . There is also a kids club and little playground for kids but at night no lights but they honestly dont care and neither do I. There's a pool with 2 slides open 10 -12 and 2-4 which tbh isnt great but kids love it when its open there good fun even for adults. the lifeguard isnt so friendly and definitely wouldnt be counting on him saving anyone. We stayed in 2 one bed apartments that u can also use for self catering there dated but no issue for me but they are not what they look like on the websites at all 🤣 i dont even know if them apartments exist they have the pictures of. We stayed across from the hotel where the apartments are located just across the road and there is another pool its very quiet and plenty sun loungers and kids happy swimming around. All the staff are absolutely lovely very friendly and mess with the kids all the time making them laugh. They come over the other quiet side were at and bring drinks from the all inclusive over for u so u dont have run back and forth. There is a restaurant called easy rider which is attached to sun city its music rock themed the food is lovely staff are really nice and recommend you definitely try it its not part of the all inclusive but not expensive at all. The food this is the worst all inclusive food I've been to and ive been to many but it is literally the same thing every single day im not fussy at all but this took the biscuit. I always got something to eat but if its not cooked some of it is fresh in front of you then you are gonna get luke warm food and i mean luke warm 🤣 but what i did eat was nice. They advertise like having pizza etc for kids no such thing exists. Chicken nuggets chips or a pitta bread eith bitta cheese in it (pizza) but its not 🤣 my kid is fussy but chicken nuggets or soup is all he would eat . It is not child friendly unless ur child eats a good variety of food. One night there wasn't even chicken nuggets but chicken snitzel I could built a wall with it was that soild 🤣 nuggets are also hit and miss either good and soft of absolutely soild. Breakfast is good plenty of different things to eat found it all good. Loads cats and dogs about that are in the hotel very friendly most people feed them. There are cats walking around where u eat inside and they do jump up on the chairs but very rarely now ot doesnt bother me at all but for some it might. The rooms are cleaned everyday but there are still ants everywhere but not millions though found them in the bed which I wasn't keen on. The shower broke and hairdryer wasn't working in room neither was air con but fixed that afternoon when reported in the morning. All in all it is a nice place but wouldnt do the all inclusive maybe just breakfast if you got a good deal wouldnt be paying what I paid for to stay here but was dear due to specific dates and needing 2 rooms etc. I wouldn't rush to come back but I would stay again as all the people are really nice and all areas are kept very clean.
