My friend and I are young girls in our early 20s who just came for a relaxing week away. It was a very disappointing experience to say the least, I would definitely not recommend for young female travellers. And if we had read reviews that had been honest and mentioned some of these things then we definitely would have booked elsewhere! Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was extremely uncomfortable due to the behaviour of some of the male members of staff. It was particularly concerning that they are allowed to get away with it. They were persistent about asking both me and my friend for our Instagram accounts and phone numbers, even when we clearly weren’t interested or even when we were asleep/ had headphones in trying to relax they’d come over and try and talk! We also experienced said male staff repeatedly staring at our bodies and making inappropriate comments, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome throughout our stay. The hotel also seemed seriously overcrowded for the number of facilities available. There were too many guests competing for the same sunbed spaces, tables for food and chairs for evening entertainment. You also almost always had to queue for at least 10-15minutes in a long line wrapped round the food area for any of the 3 meals every day. Which made the overall experience chaotic and unpleasant. Unfortunately, to top it off, the food was also very poor, with little variety (and we are not fussy!) We found ourselves skipping lunch and dinner and going to the supermarket opposite to get pot noodles!! Considering we paid extra for all inclusive I’d rather have just been room only. Would’ve felt less ripped off! There was also little to no labels on any of the food, which for someone who has allergies like myself, was unnerving and made me not want to eat at all. The food times were too short all being only 2 hours per meal which added to the chaos every day of getting in and eating. The only drinks available on the all inclusive were water and juice from a machine which tasted vile. Some fizzy drinks and cheap beer and wine. No cocktails or ice cream were included. They were all extra!! Cleanliness was another major issue. The condition of the hotel, particularly the rooms, was not up to an acceptable standard. There was black mold all around the shower and sink in our bathroom, and a tonne of limescale on the shower head. The floor in the room was not swept or mopped at all in the entire week we were here. All the ‘cleaners’ seemed to do was empty the bins and make the bed. We got fresh towels and bedding once the entire week which is not acceptable. I asked the cleaner for new towels and we did not receive these. The towels are so small and thin/ heavily used that they were stained and you could see through some of them where they were so old! The bedding also has stains on and the only choice for bedding in the room was a thick duvet or the rough thin ‘blanket’ that stank! Also, in the restaurant on the tables and chairs as well as around the pool area and reception. There were multiple cats and 2 dogs (reception dogs) freely roaming!! The cats were especially concerning from a hygiene perspective in the restaurant. And for people with allergies like myself, as they were also spread all over the chairs in reception. It always smelt of dog as soon as you came into the property 🤢 You also had to pay for wifi, with no areas, not even reception having any free wifi, which is ridiculous and I’ve never experienced that at an all inclusive! The hotel had its own section of a beach, which was nice but unfortunately the shuttle only ran 6/7 times a day and all of these journeys were over crowded and packing way too many people on (shoulder to shoulder) which certainly must be a health and safety hazard! The beach has to be accessed by this bus and is not walkable at all meaning that we only visited the once. Only water and terrible juice available at the beach and everything else is paid for. We were also harassed by the staff here too, asking if they could sit with us and if we were single. The hotel is most certainly not deserving of its 3 star rating. And my friend and I have travelled to hotels in multiple countries for cheaper that are 100X better than this place! We weren’t expecting the world at £650 for the week but it wasn’t even worth half of what we paid. Overall, between the inappropriate behaviour from some staff, overcrowding, poor cleanliness, animals in the food area/reception and terrible food, this was a very disappointing stay. I would not recommend this hotel and would not return!!
We have had an amazing week here at Sun City. The staff are amazing, especially the entertainment team. They were all so amazing with our 2 year old too! No real queues at the bar like people said, yes it’s your basic drinks but it is a 3* and the choice of cocktails/bottled beers etc that are pretty cheap. The rooms are basic, but clean and towels/bedding changed. A number of pools to choose from, and always beds available later in the morning - but like anywhere you want the best sun spots, you get up early. The food in the restaurant was good too, basic but all 3 of us managed to eat every meal. We will definitely be back!
Lovley hotel and apartments , staff are great , all the pools are great, my little girl loved the shaded baby pool and park, The apartments are lovely and spacious , We was on the top floor with our 1 year old and there is no lift so that was really hard and worth baring in mind, There lots of activities around the hotel through out they day, Everyone was great , loved seeing the 2 dogs everyday and the cats, highly recommend and we can't wait to come back
I have been to sun city hotel twice this year and it never disappoints. The animation team is definitely the best part of this hotel. They are so welcoming, kind and friendly, they have a range of activities for guest to enjoy and have something for everyone. I would definitely recommend.
Beko is an amazing young guy always helping people great entertainer and so friendly. Hotel in general is amazing would definitely recommend
