Ocean Paradise Resort & Spa

Just spent 4 days at this resort after a week on safari. So happy we spent them at this resort. From the first day to the last absolutely excellent service from all the staff and management alike, it shows how much they care about your experience. Will definitely be back again.

The hotel is located on the Northern Eastern side of Zanzibar about an hours drive from Airport. It is a quiet calm haven away from the busy chaotic outside world. The staff are so welcoming and genuinely happy to see you and be of service,nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are beautiful with balconies looking over the gardens towards the sea. Half board includes breakfast and dinner in the eve and food is varied and delicious with themed evenings. Pool bar sells snacks if you require lunch. Scott from Glasgow is the F&B manager and aways checks in with you on a dailly basis ..great guy. The entertainment was very special, Maisala and his team were incredible. Recommend the aqua aerobics, keeps you fit & its fun. Also worth a mention is the spa facilities. Mohammed Gamal organises the treatments and a little free neck massage to hook you in! He was always smiling and willing to negotiate a price, lovely guy . I would recommend Moama she gives the best massage and body scrub treatments. There are always security guys around which as a solo female traveler made me feel safe.However once you venture onto beach you will get inundated by people trying to sell you things,which can be annoying. Low tide here too but its worth asking a local masai to take you for a trip.out to see the starfish.Lots of urchins so recommemd beach shoes.

We had an amazing 6 day stay at this wonderful resort, which really looks and feels like paradise. The resort is well designed with excellent facilities situated directly on a beautiful, white, sandy beach. The rooms were uniquely designed being very spacious with lovely views of the grounds and ocean. There were effective mosquito nets and excellent bathroom facilities. The daily maid service was also excellent. The grounds are beautiful and extremely well kept. The pool was a great size and was very clean. It included a swim up bar. There are plenty of sun loungers around the pool as well as on the beach front. The hotel also has a spa and we had several very relaxing treatments during our stay. The food at this hotel is varied, plentiful and of an excellent quality. We felt condident eating the salads and fruits available and everything was delicious. There is a huge range available at the breakfast buffet and in the evenings there were themed nights, although there was always plenty of choice to suit everyone. One of the real highlights of our stay at this resort was the staff. Every single person was helpful, friendly and the service was second to none. Scott and his team were fantastic, especially Raymond for his cocktails, Mulhat for her delicious pasta, Boniface, Esther, Rose, Malik to name but a few. We hope to return in the future and would highly recommend.

Our experience at Ocean Paradise was absolutely amazing. We stayed in one of the thatched roof bungalows. It was spacious and had everything we needed. The room was cleaned daily and bottles of fresh water were left in the rooms. Of an evening a mosquito net was put down around the bed and the beds turned down. The gardens around the bungalows and hotel are kept tidy and natural by the hard working friendly gardeners. There is also a beautiful pool with a swim up bar and the excellent evening entertainment takes place on the pool island . The staff are friendly , fun and really helpful. The resturant manager, Scott, is amazing, He greeted us daily as well as other guests. He always remembered our names, explained was the food was and what theme the food would be each evening . Scott is so friendly, he will do anything to help and has a great sense of humour Scott looked after us so well and made our experience unforgettable. The food is amazing. There are so many different dishes and even the fussiest child would be able to find something to eat. The food is cooked by an excellent chef. Michael Solalman is the General Manager and although he is busy he would always find time to check in and make sure we were ok and have a chat. The same goes for Scott. Our experience In Ocean Paradise was exceptional . I would highly recommend this hotel. The hotel felt like home and rather than guests and staff, We felt like family. Annie and Rob
