Adams Beach

We stayed at Adams Beach as a family and unfortunately left very disappointed. The hotel has some good facilities, especially the pool, but the overall experience particularly the room allocation, Front Office service and the way problems were handled was far from what we expected from a five-star hotel. We booked a Queen Suite but were initially given a room located in an old part of the hotel. The dated corridor and old-fashioned carpets honestly felt like stepping back into the 1980s. The room and its surroundings were very different from what we expected based on the Queen Suite presented when we booked. After complaining, we were moved to another Queen Suite by the pool. This room was comfortable, in a completely different environment and much closer to what we expected. Despite asking several times during our stay, we never received written confirmation that the two very different rooms are actually considered the same Queen Suite category. Front Office communication throughout the issue was poor. There were delays and changing information regarding when our room would be ready, and during the room change we specifically asked to be notified when the new room was available, but nobody contacted us. Overall, instead of feeling that someone was taking ownership of the problem, we felt that we had to keep going back to Reception ourselves to get information. To his credit, the General Manager responded personally after I contacted him. He apologised, acknowledged that our experience was not up to the hotel’s standards and said he would personally ensure the remainder of our stay was handled with care and attention. He also promised that the issues would be followed up internally. Unfortunately, that was the last contact we received from management. Nobody from management or Guest Relations contacted us again during the remainder of our stay. Even at check-out, nobody asked how our stay had been or whether the issues had been resolved. I emailed the GM again after leaving, asking what action had been taken and again requesting clarification about the two Queen Suites. At the time of writing this review, I have received no response. Half board was another disappointment. Even water costs extra, while the dining area had no A/C, only fans. Eating dinner in the August heat while being charged separately even for water felt extremely penny-pinching for a five-star resort. What’s next? Adding spicy sauce to the food to sell more drinks? Pool rules also clearly prohibit reserving sunbeds with towels, yet by around 8am many were already “reserved” while their occupants were having breakfast and the pool was practically empty. The rule is there, but the enforcement apparently isn’t. o be fair, the second room was comfortable, the pools were enjoyable and we were eventually able to enjoy the rest of our holiday. But good facilities alone do not make a five-star experience. How a hotel communicates with its guests and handles problems when something goes wrong matters just as much. Unfortunately, in our experience, that was where Adams Beach disappointed us the most. If you decide to stay here, lower your expectations.

Beautiful hotel. Lots of fresh water swimming pools and we enjoyed the indoor pool to cool off which was always quiet. Lifeguards kept blowing their whistles which became irritating and felt unnecessary. Slides only open 2hrs 2x day which meant big queues, shame they can't keep them open. Always managed to find a sun longer on the beach but people reserved them by pool early (despite hotel saying they would remove them to stop people doing this). Gym fantastic. Spa was nice, quiet, but big sauna not that warm. Private beach, lovely but a lot of rubbish - bits of plastic everywhere on shore and in water. Glad to see hotel staff at times cleaning it with nets. Hotel could do SO much more to reduce plastic waste (e.g. no plastic straws, no plastic cups at breakfast, borrow buckets/spades, etc). Fun to visit Nissi Beach and island! Tried Pilates - girl lovely but had only just started doing it herself and time should have been when cooler! Glasshouse for sunset cocktails a must- absolutely beautiful, staff fantastic and drinks incredible! kids- no babysitting service even though advertised on website and kids club closed at 7pm (despite being told 8pm on phone). Kids club was disappointing- staff not interacting with the children and not very friendly. Only used it for 1hr and never took them back. Food - Really brilliant! Great quality and a huge selection, best we've ever had at a buffet style hotel meal. Breakfast-go early! Horribly busy when after 9am. Staff really friendly. Clean apart from downstairs changing rooms. Room was next to elevator which meant it was quite noisy. No handle on outside of balcony door! Kids shut the sliding door to make aircon work but locked us out! Seems dangerous. Lovely coffee shop up the road and super market on site. Overall a great stay but they could make a lot of improvements for a 5 star hotel.

Went back to the Glasshouse restaurant at the Adams Beach Hotel as we always enjoy it and again it didn’t disappoint. It was very busy but that didn’t reflect in the impeccable service we had. I had the ribeye steak and I must say it was one of the best steaks I have had, truly delicious. Unfortunately I did not take and pictures but everything we ate was amazing. There was a DJ there and the music set the place so well, the volume was just perfect, not too loud so you cannot speak but enough to set a perfect ambiance. Always great to see our favourite manager Kleo, always there to make sure our time there was an evening not to forget. The best time in Cyprus and best evening meal. It’s a definite must if staying in the area😁.

Really nice hotel. Plenty of space, rooms have been renovated and plenty of space, my parents had a suite which was ultimately wasted on them but great size and area of the hotel. The family room we had was a good size and modern. Pool area is great with a range of pools and loungers and the ability to order from your lounger was a nice touch. We were there probably one of the busiest weeks of the year so I imagine its very different outside of August however 2 things let it down slightly from being a higher end resort. 1 don't advertise no reserving loungers and don't follow through. Every lounger has a towel on it by 7am and saw several arguments with staff and other customers over this, just don't allow it and everyone gets a lounger. The second was the food quality which was generally quite poor. These 2 things let it down but still a great resort just maybe not quite 5 star.
