TUI BLUE Atlantica Aeneas Resort

Just arrived home in the early hours this morning, and I wanted to leave an honest review as I love reading them myself before booking a hotel! I've never stayed in a 5-star hotel before, so I can't really compare, but I can understand why some people say certain aspects aren't quite 5-star standard. For me though, there were only two minor negatives. The rainfall shower barely had any pressure, so washing mine and my daughter's hair with it was impossible, and we had to use the handheld shower. Also, the bungalow walls were very thin, and noisy neighbours kept us awake on 4 out of 7 nights. I understand everyone is on holiday, but coming back at 1am and putting the TV on full volume isn't ideal! Other than that, everything was amazing! The food was WOW. There was an incredible variety, different themes each evening, and I loved being seated and having drinks brought to the table. We personally preferred lunch to the evening meals, but there was so much choice. The snack bar was also a huge hit with my 9 and 15-year-old – they practically lived on nuggets, pizza, wraps and chips! 😂 The hotel itself is spotless, and you can see how hard the staff work constantly to keep it that way. On arrival, our luggage was taken and delivered straight to our room, which was a lovely touch. I did pay an extra £900 for a Premium Double Room with Pool View, Poolside and Terrace. The room itself was beautiful – wine and fruit on arrival, cleaned daily, fresh towels and very comfortable beds. However, we were allocated the first bungalow in the shallow pool area next to the snack bar. This would be perfect for families with very young children, but with my children being 9 and 15, they wanted deeper water. People also regularly walked onto our terrace due to its location, so personally, I wouldn't choose that particular room again. If booking again, I'd request a room nearer the swim-up bar, as that area looked amazing! The evening entertainment was okay – we enjoyed the music quiz, Michael Jackson and Pink tribute acts, and the circus-style show. The location is perfect, directly opposite the beach. I'd recommend going early morning or later in the evening as it gets very busy during the day. Sunbeds were plentiful early on, but by around 8:30am, the best locations had usually gone. Unfortunately, there were also people reserving beds and leaving them for most of the day. Finally, the staff were absolutely wonderful – always smiling, friendly and willing to help. The indoor bar was lovely too, and there are plenty of nice restaurants within walking distance. Overall, we had an amazing holiday. Would we return? Absolutely! Next time, I would just choose a different location for the poolside room. Hopefully, this helps anyone considering booking – I know how important honest reviews are when spending your hard-earned money on a holiday!

We’ve just returned from the Aeneas and we had an amazing time. We travelled as a family of 5 (3 children ages 10, 6 & 19 months) 22 Aug for 11 nights. Upon arrival we were taken to our room really quickly which was appreciated after a really late flight. The following morning we woke up late so expected to have trouble finding sunbeds but the TUI reps told us to head to the quieter pool with the swim up bar and there were still plenty of beds at 11am! We never struggled to get 4 sunbeds, you aren’t allowed to reserve before 8am so I always headed down at 8 and never had an issue getting beds. By 9am there were still empty beds in places. My children loved the pools and the slides in the pirate ship. Lifeguards were really vigilant, I’ve never been to a hotel where lifeguards were so on the ball! All the staff were really friendly, TUI reps were great and were always asking my children if they wanted to take part in the activities which they always did. My children didn’t use the kids club or crèche so can’t comment on them. My youngest loved the baby lounge to escape the afternoon heat. Food was lovely and always plenty of choice. We didn’t watch the evening entertainment as we usually went out in the evenings. Rooms were spacious and clean, we were in a room in the main building and lots of space for 5 of us. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the Aeneas!

We had a fantastic stay at the Atlantica Aeneas Resort in Ayia Napa and would definitely return. The hotel itself is lovely and the huge pool area is one of the highlights. The grounds and pools were really well maintained, everything was clean, and there was plenty of space to relax. The location is excellent as well, especially being so close to Nissi Beach. Our room was clean, comfortable and well looked after throughout the holiday. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service across the hotel was very good. We really enjoyed the food. There was plenty of choice and we always found something we liked. The drinks were good too, and overall we thought the all-inclusive package was excellent. Our only real criticism was that the all-inclusive drinks stopped at 11pm. We felt this was a little early for a holiday resort in Ayia Napa, particularly when you’re sitting enjoying an evening and suddenly have to start paying for drinks. Extending the all-inclusive until midnight would make a big difference. Other than that, we genuinely struggled to find anything to complain about. We had a brilliant holiday, loved the hotel and would happily stay here again. A great hotel in a fantastic location and definitely one we’d recommend.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough! We had an amazing stay here. The hotel complex is modern, large and the facilities are superb. Pools are large and despite being peak season, you can always get a free sunbed no matter what time of day. I'm out opinion it was the staff that set the hotel apart from others we have been too. They are all so friendly no matter whether reception, the brilliant bar staff or cleaners. We were really looked after and would recommend to anyone. Thank you to everyone at the hotel and hopefully we will be back!

I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt strongly that I needed to manage people’s expectations here, as this hotel is definitely not the luxury 5-star resort it is advertised as. The hotel itself is clean, but it feels tired and lacks any real sense of luxury. The lobby has mismatched furniture and the corridors genuinely resemble those of an overnight ferry. The rooms are clean but very basic. There are none of the little touches, facilities or overall feel that I would associate with a 5-star hotel. The pillows were also extremely hard and lumpy, which made getting a comfortable night's sleep difficult. Again, not something I would expect when paying for a 5-star luxury resort. The pool is definitely the highlight. It is huge, with an interesting layout, fountains and plenty going on. However, getting a sunbed is a daily struggle. By around 8am, there is very little left, so you need to be up early to secure one — which hardly creates the relaxed holiday atmosphere you would expect. We chose to sit at the quieter end of the pool to escape the large family groups, noisy conversations and vaping around the busier areas. However, no hotel or TUI staff come down to that end to announce the activities, meaning it is very easy to miss things such as aqua aerobics, volleyball and water polo unless you actually set an alarm to remind yourself! There is also no poolside waiter service — you have to queue at the bar for drinks. Again, this simply isn't what I would expect from a 5-star resort. The drinks are another disappointment. The spirits are all local brands, and the cocktails are very hit and miss. The wine is possibly the worst wine I have ever tasted and comes from a tap. The bar staff were generally miserable and the coffee was also terrible. None of this feels particularly premium. The restaurant has a good selection of food and I genuinely have no complaints about the food itself. However, at lunchtime it smells very strongly of bleach, presumably because the restaurant hasn't had enough time to air after breakfast service. I didn't notice the smell at other times of the day, but it is very off-putting. And, unfortunately, the wine doesn't improve at dinner! The evening entertainment is disappointing. I appreciate that the TUI staff work hard to put on a show every night, but it essentially consists of the same people appearing in different costumes and singing different songs. After a few nights it becomes incredibly repetitive and boring. For a resort advertised as 5-star, I would expect TUI to spend some money bringing in proper outside acts occasionally. The entertainment simply isn't 5-star standard. The lobby area also becomes extremely overcrowded in the evenings as it is one of the only places with any real seating. A lot of the seating is taken up by large family groups and weddings — there seems to be a wedding almost every day — which makes it difficult to find somewhere to sit. The gym has a good range of equipment, but the free-weight area is downstairs and isn't air-conditioned. It is absolutely stifling in the heat. There is also no water or towels available in the gym. Again, for a 5-star resort, I would expect these basics to be provided. My son used the kids' club several times and seemed to have fun, so I can't fault the staff there. However, it is very basic. My biggest issue is that there is no drinking water available for the children. I was told that he needed to bring his own water bottle. In 35°C heat, I find it ridiculous that a 5-star resort doesn't provide drinking water for children in its kids' club. Sadly, we found the hotel very disappointing considering the amount of money we paid and, more importantly, the expectation created by the 5-star luxury advertising. For me, this is 3-star, or 4-star at best, rather than a genuine 5-star luxury resort. We've previously stayed at the Lopesan and Mitsis chains and, having experienced both, I can honestly say we could have booked one of those again for the same money. I really wish we had, as they are both far superior in terms of service, facilities and overall quality. If you're booking this hotel expecting a true luxury 5-star experience, I would strongly recommend managing your expectations.
