Hotel Olympia Sky

We loved everything about this hotel . The location was perfect right on the beach and a very short walk to the centre of Vodice with lots of choice of nice restaurants and bars . Our room had a fabulous sea view, a nice balcony and was very spacious. Breakfast had pretty much anything you might want , fruits , pastries , hot buffet, freshly cooked egg station , juice machine, coffee machine , salads, smoked salmon and other marinated fish. ( no English tea bags tho so take your own if you want some ) The pools were lovely with lots of beds - we could always find some despite not arriving at the pools until lunch time . . We ate at the 10th floor restaurant once and were a little underwhelmed. The view was beautiful and restaurant nicely laid out but the food wasn’t any better than elsewhere and was more expensive . Overall highly recommend staying here

We were treated in the hotel room with a beautiful view. We were staying on the top floor, the 8th floor, where the hotel's most luxurious sea-view rooms are located. And honestly, we really can't complain about that. From our balcony, we had a fantastic view of the sea as well as the centre of Vodice. The room itself is also perfectly fine. The beds are comfortable, the shower does what it's supposed to do, and the air conditioning works well. One of the lifts was out of order once, which meant we had to wait a little longer, but it was fixed fairly quickly. The noise levels are actually quite manageable as well. Only on Friday and Saturday evenings does the nightlife make its way into our room. On the other days, it's surprisingly quiet, and the rooms are definitely not noisy or poorly insulated. Breakfast is a little less impressive. Every morning, we end up in a rather soulless conference room. The breakfast itself is perfectly decent, but quite repetitive: more or less the same thing every day. We explored the swimming pools. The big swimming pools had in our opinion lounge music, which was so loud, that it becomes more overwhelming than relaxing. Luckily, there is also a quieter pool and infinity pool on the rooftop. Personally, I do think the infinity pool could have been an adults-only area. Listening to a child screaming for an hour while a parent struggles to get them under control doesn't really fit the luxurious and peaceful atmosphere you would expect from a rooftop infinity pool. Important to note: There doesn't seem to be any system in place to prevent quests from reserving sun beds at the pool with towels and then leaving them unattended for hours. There is a security guy, but it doesn't seem to be part of his job. For lunch, we spent most days simply getting some food and drinks from the supermarket (600m away from the hotel). Much cheaper than the hotel prices. After some days we thought: "You know what. It is vacation. Let's treat ourselves... a pricey hotel drink which is ice cold...just do it!" We used the QR-code at the table, which was easy to use, and ordered a beer and ice coffee. It took 25 minutes, someone finally showed up with the drinks. We had a luke warm flat beer and a watery ice coffee. Not exactly the kind of service you hope for after waiting for 25 minutes. Especially considering the prices the hotel charges. So you understand, we rather took the walk again after that day to other places than use the service of the hotel. We also had read the diner at the hotel itself wasn't that great, so we decided to just skip it as we were afraid the service would be as bad as well, while there are so many other good options in the city centre. Overall, we think the hotel's strongest points are the rooms and the facilities (The Sky Rise Wellness was a true treasure btw. LOVED IT). But there are definetly some areas that could be improved, particularly the breakfast, the atmosphere and the service around the pool/bar area. Therefore I consider the hotel to pricey, for the average experience you get. Good to know: You can rent a car at the hotel for ± € 100 a day (incl. the insurance). Towels are at the hotel, as well as a a bath rope for the wellness. Massages are priced as in the Netherlands (± € 55 for an hour). There are not many excursions possible from the hotel, only Krka national park (€ 158 for two persons by boat - which takes long... I highly recommend you to rent a car instead and reserve tickets in advance) and a Tuk Tuk tour to Sibenik (I believe this was € 70 a person - which I recommend you for to just use Uber and spare yourself a lot of money).

I can't say enough great things about Olympia Sky , the staff was awesome, pools were the best , beach phenomenal all in all great stay .

from the beginning everything was unsatisfactory no kind of hospitality nor a luggage service then the second part for taking the room which is done at 3 pm even with a reservation in advance for 2 adults and 2 children while the room I got was for 2 large people and a chaise longue covered with a simple sheet or blanket

Overall it was a nice experience. The Hotel offers good value for money with big, cosy and clean rooms, many different pools, playroom and park for the youngest and really good breakfast and dinner options in the Hotel restaurant. The beach is literally in front of the hotel which is cool. The only issues we had was that there are only 2 elevators due to which the wait is long and they are almost always crowded. When you need to change floors while carrying a lot of things (such as when checking in or checking out, bringing all your bags) it's a real challenge to find and elevator with enough room. The other issue was with the Sky Restaurant on the 10th floor. We had a 10% voucher given to us on reception which we showed to the waiter upon our arrival, and he noted it. During our lunch there was a change of staff and the other waiter gave us a check with full price, and after our complaint he did nothing and we had to pay full price. Also, they charged us for some starters which they just brought to our table without us ordering it and even withouth asking if we wanted it, so naturally we thought it's a welcome bite, so it felt weird that it was charged - a bit pathetic to give something to someone and then charge it.
