Beautiful location, friendly staff and plentiful food – but too few sun loungers We really enjoyed our stay at the Orsan Maradiso Hotel in Orebić. The hotel is in a beautiful beachfront location, with lovely views and a peaceful atmosphere. The hotel was very clean and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. A special mention has to go to Silvio and the team in the dining room, who were always friendly and helpful and made mealtimes a pleasure. We were also impressed with the food. There was always plenty of choice and we felt it would suit most guests. There was consistently a pasta dish, chicken or turkey, veal, a fish option, vegetables and potatoes, as well as lovely fresh salads and a good selection of breads. Everything was plentiful, so there was always something to choose from. Another big positive for us was the free parking, which was very useful as we had a hire car. The location is beautiful but is quite rural, so it probably wouldn’t suit everyone. Orebić is walkable along the promenade, although the path isn’t lit at night, which is something to bear in mind if you’re planning to walk back from town after dark. Our main disappointment was the number of sun loungers around the pool. For a hotel of this size, there are only around 37 loungers, and they were all taken before 9am, despite 9am being the advertised opening time. The beach directly in front of the hotel is lovely, but it is quite small and is a pebble beach rather than sand. The hotel sun loungers on the beach are also €8 per day, which we felt was disappointing when staying at the hotel. We did think there was a good alternative available, though. There is a lower terrace between the pool and the beach which was largely unused. Putting some hotel loungers on this terrace would give guests another option for sunbathing, while still being able to go up to the pool area or have a swim in the sea. We felt this could make a real difference, particularly when the pool loungers are all occupied. Overall, we had a lovely holiday and particularly enjoyed the beautiful location, cleanliness, friendly staff, free parking and plentiful food. The main improvements for us would be providing more areas for guests to sunbathe and better lighting along the walking route into Orebić.

We spent a memorable vacation. The natural setting—the sea—and the hotel facilities were excellent, and above all, the staff proved to be true friends, always available to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We will be back!

We arrived at 11.30, way before check in - I know the rules, that one was on me - they did say they'd prioritise our room and call me. I went up a few times and only at 3pm was it ready - a bit of expectation management would have been good. The canteen is vile. I saw a mouse run across and that was it for me, appetite lost. The first night I had a few things, but it's all disgusting. The pool is salty, and the sort of people at this hotel are the kind who get their towels down at 3am so by 9am there's no space - animals. By 11am those towels reserving their spots still there, not an owner in sight.. Rooms are shabby. overall they take your money and spend nothing in on the quality, it's tired, it's old, it's ugly, it's a vile experience I paid c.£360 a night (400 euros)
