TUI BLUE Crystal Bay

was a lovely atmosphere, staff was amazing and couldn’t do any more for you , staff was lovely , restaurants and food was brilliant. The views was lovely ,entertainment staff was friendly and got you involved with activities

We have just returned from a two week stay at this resort and had such a fantastic time. Resort was extremely clean and could see staff working and tidying all the time to maintain this. The pool was huge and the kids loved playing in there, inflatables allowed, just be respectful of others but with the size of the pool it wasn’t ever an issue. All staff there were so helpful and worked so hard. The bar staff that serve around the pool were very friendly and always bringing more drinks when they noticed that we had finished. Our cleaner for our room was also very friendly and helpful, would knock our door every evening to ask if we needed anything else and would always give us anymore drinks if we wished. Restaurants were great, we enjoyed them all. Buffet always had a great choice we found. Reception staff also very helpful, though thankfully we didn’t require them much. We were luckily able to get a late check out as our flight was late, so we could enjoy being around the pool for the day. I was aware before we left that entertainment on an evening wasn’t too good. However we’re not hugely bothered about evening entertainment so wasn’t a deal breaker for us, there was always a singer/music performer in the lobby. The evening pool party was a huge hit for the kids, we also enjoyed the fire show at the beach party. The TUI animation team would walk over to our sunbeds daily to ask how everything was going with our stay, they were so friendly and would always stay and have a conversation with us. We found the entertainment fine, kids had option to join in activities if they wanted. Overall we had a lovely time and would recommend this hotel to anyone considering it.

We stayed for two weeks and overall had a very enjoyable holiday. The resort itself is excellent, although there were a few issues which stopped it being a completely faultless experience. Grounds & rooms The grounds are kept immaculate, with the grass and hedges trimmed daily. All rooms face into the resort, with either a pool or sea view. The rooms are clean, although the bathrooms are starting to look a little tired. We stayed in a ground-floor room and personally found it lacked some of the premium feel of the resort and felt a little exposed, particularly with people walking past outside. We also had an issue with our room assignments. When asking about a change, I was initially fobbed off by the front desk staff — unfortunately, this became something of an ongoing theme throughout our stay. Food & restaurants There is a good range of food available across the buffets and restaurants. My mum is vegetarian and found plenty of options available. The spice station was particularly useful as it allowed her to customise her food to her taste. I particularly loved the Egyptian bread served during our stay. I enjoyed it so much that I asked the chef for the recipe, and he very kindly gave it to me. I'll definitely be trying to recreate it at home, so hopefully I'll have a little piece of Egypt following me home! Restaurant reservations can be made through the app, although these are limited to the number of people registered to your room. If, like us, you have multiple rooms booked, you'll need to use the concierge service instead. This is easily accessed through the chat function on the TUI Blue app. We had no issues getting bookings at any of the restaurants, including multiple visits to some of them. The highlight for us was the Egyptian restaurant. Pools The pools are nice, and the large adult-only section was genuinely kept child-free, which was appreciated. A special shout-out to Ahmed from the pool bar, who served the adult section. Once he'd seen me, he would often have my mojito ready for me — excellent service! You can get a red flag to indicate that you don't want people approaching you to sell trips. Unfortunately, this never seemed to work. Be warned that the tiles around the pool area can be extremely slippery. The pools and beach area both have lifeguards keeping watch, which makes the resort feel very safe, particularly for families with young children. Beach The beach is lovely and calm as it's situated in a bay. The outer edges are shallow, with the water getting deeper towards the centre. If you fancy swimming out into the deeper water, there are plenty of handy ring floats anchored around the cove which you can use to rest on. Snorkelling Snorkelling can be done from the jetty at the neighbouring hotel. Simply walk along the right-hand side in front of the rooms around the 700s and you'll find the entrance to the Sunrise next door. Continue down the path — watch out for the camel roaming around! — and at the end you'll find the jetty. There is a lifeguard at the end of the jetty as well. Neighbouring hotel & entertainment We didn't make use of the facilities at the neighbouring hotel or watch any of the shows. However, the hotel did organise evening trips to the Sunrise next door on multiple occasions, with a coach provided. Front desk service This was probably the biggest negative of our stay. We found ourselves being continuously disregarded by the front desk staff whenever we needed assistance. This was particularly frustrating because whenever I eventually asked the TUI representative for help, the issue was resolved almost instantly. Why I needed to involve the TUI representative at every point, I don't know. The contrast was particularly noticeable — the problems clearly could be resolved, but getting the front desk to actually assist us was unnecessarily difficult. Resort buggies — safety concern One thing I would strongly warn guests about is the resort's buggies at night. They use the walking paths but, as far as we experienced, they had no lights and did not use their horn. We almost got hit by one while walking. There was no acknowledgement from the driver of what could have happened, which was particularly concerning. It made me wonder: what if it had been a child wandering around the resort? This really needs addressing. Excursions We did two excursions during our stay: the Valley of the Kings and snorkelling, and both were excellent. The Valley of the Kings was an incredible highlight. If you do the trip, I would strongly recommend paying the extra for Seti I and saving it until last. It is absolutely worth the extra cost. Overall We had a fantastic two weeks and there is a lot to like about the resort: immaculate grounds, good food, excellent pools and beach facilities, good snorkelling opportunities and some genuinely excellent staff. The biggest disappointment was the front desk service, particularly given how quickly our issues were resolved whenever we went through the TUI representative. The other issue I'd like to see addressed is the night-time buggy safety. Despite those problems, we had a great holiday and would happily return. I'd just hope the hotel takes those two issues seriously.

We stayed at TUI BLUE Crystal Bay in Hurghada for 14 nights, and unfortunately, we would never return. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend thinking carefully before booking this hotel. The reception staff were extremely rude and unhelpful throughout our stay. What started as an issue with our room quickly became a very unpleasant experience with the reception team. Our children, aged 8–12, were targeted by a group of around eight angry Egyptian men, which resulted in a huge argument. What was particularly concerning was that security failed to turn up despite the situation becoming heated. As a family, this left us feeling extremely unsafe and unsupported by the hotel. We also had a serious issue with the air conditioning in our first room. The air conditioning was leaking water onto the floor. When we reported it, the technician refused to believe that the air conditioning was leaking and told us that the water on the floor was from us walking out of the shower. This was particularly worrying because my 8-year-old son slipped on the wet floor twice and hurt his back. I also met another guest during our stay whose son had apparently suffered a fractured wrist after slipping because of a leaking air conditioning unit in their room, resulting in them having to take their child to a local hospital. Another issue was our request for a late check-out. Our transfer wasn’t until 7:30pm, and we asked if we could have a later check-out, as several other families were being allowed to do so. I watched five families in front of me receive late check-outs, but when it came to my turn, our request was point-blank refused. Given that this happened after I had complained about the conditions in our room, it felt as though we were being treated differently because I had raised concerns. From that point onwards, I found the reception staff increasingly unpleasant. I was frequently ignored, or met with sighs and obvious frustration whenever I approached reception with an enquiry. After spending 14 nights here, I can honestly say that the way we were treated completely overshadowed what could otherwise have been a relaxing family holiday. I would think very carefully before booking this hotel. After speaking to other holidaymakers down at the marina, it was clear that there are much better hotels in Hurghada where guests were genuinely enjoying their stays. Unfortunately, we will never return to TUI BLUE Crystal Bay.

Absolutely enjoyed the atmosphere at this hotel, staff are friendly. Rooms are very nice and would absolute love to come again!
