We arrived at the hotel late Monday night, we had a welcome drink & offered some food which is always nice when your travelling, I’d noticed it was most definitely left overs but still appreciated it none the less. The room was small but adequate, plenty of mirrors, plugs and good ac. The hotel itself is kept immaculate, everyday the groundsmen are working hard and the cleaners, especially ours - room 6195- was faultless, he left the room sparkling clean everyday. Pools, we spent considerable time at both, however, we stopped going to the quiet room due to the constant harassment by the on site life guard, we noticed he’d done the same to 3 other women and could sense how uncomfortable they were, taking them drinks, asking for their social media’s and to meet them outside of the hotel, then he done the very same to us, so we stopped going to the pool, we noticed how quiet that pool was and we assumed this maybe the reason why, one of the girls did have kids alone so even that never stopped him, I think for 2 girls travelling alone and trying to relax, constant pestering isn’t acceptable. The only other issue we had, and noticed a traveller has wrote the same the same week we went, was food hygiene. I, being vegetarian didn’t have much options at all and even though I was limited, I caught some kind of stomach bug and spent the next 3/4 days unwell, we spoke to people at the airport who noticed our wristbands and they also said one or more of their party had the same issue. For me, I think it was the salads, fruit or the ice as that’s the only 3 things I had consumed, the chef one night used the same ladle for the sauce of my pasta in a meat based pasta and the same frying pan so small traces of meat where through my dish. The salads are so dried out and you can tell it’s re used from either that morning or the previous days. I’d advise strongly, to take pills for your stomach or be very sceptic about the food you are eating. The hotel and staff are lovely but to come home with a gastro issue I will need to still see a doctor back home, isn’t a 5 star experience, especially when it’s not only us who had this. Late checkout was also something we asked for on the second day of our holiday & they told us to come back the day before, which we did, they told us they couldn’t do this and to use the shower at the pools for that day. So if you have a late flight, like we did, maybe put that in your booking as we had to hang around the pool to 8:30 that night from check out at 12 & use the showers at the pool, which where caked in sand with no toiletries around to use, just a thought for late travellers. Sadly, I wouldn’t return to this hotel, purely because I spent 3/4 days unable to eat and considerably unwell. It’s a gorgeous hotel with beautiful rooms, just not the 5 star experience I had hoped for.

I am just back from a week in jaz Fanara with my husband and our kids ages 23, 22, 20 and 14 and two of their partners aged 24 and 21. Everyone said this was the best holiday they have ever been on as a family. The rooms were nice and clean and air con was fantastic, exactly what’s needed in August heat! The cleaners will come to your room any hour if you need anything just call reception to ask. Each day you will get fresh beach towels and water in the room free of charge. The pools are nice although I would say too warm for me as you can’t jump in to cool off after a hot sunbathe. The lifeguard is super friendly and helpful. The food is very good, breakfast is omolette and eggs and veg and pancakes and porridge and continental food. Lunch inside I went to twice and the options were roast beef and roast chicken. Lunch at pool bar is pizza and salads and burgers and chicken and chips etc. dinner is chicken and lamb and sausages and plenty other options like pasta etc. The hotel is a 3 minute taxi ride to the farsha cafe which you have to be over 16 to get in to so take note of that if planning to go or you will have to stay in top area by entrance. The hotel has private taxis to take you to places and charge the room, it’s €3 to get to farsha and €14 to get to soho square. They will collect you for same cost if you message the driver. I have never felt more safe. The alcoholic drinks are free between 10am and 11pm outside at pool and until midnight inside at reception bar. Juice is free all hours. The beach is part of this hotel and you can snorkel free of charge around the coral reefs the fish are amazing and we even seen puffer fish and sting rays. The boat trip booked from this hotel is also a fab day out I recommend that. One thing I will say is every one of us 8 in family had an upset tummy for 5 of the 7 days and so did another family of 18 people. I believe this is normal for Egypt though we didn’t feel unwell just had to keep running to loo and everyone lost half a stone minimum so that’s a bonus. This could have been caught outside though and not at the hotel. I would come back to this hotel regardless it’s lovely and had a great stay.
