Rating: 4.5/5 Stars Travel Type: Traveled as a group of 18 (including babies and young children down to age 1) Stay: 1st week of August | Rooms: 30 ​Fantastic Family Holiday – Impeccable Cleanliness and Zero Illness (Egypt Bug) ​We traveled as a large group of 18 ranging from adults down to babiesa 1 year old and we had a fantastic time at Pickalbatros Royal Moderna! ​ One of the biggest worries traveling to Egypt is usually catching the dreaded "Egypt bug," but I am thrilled to report that not a single person in our party of 18 had any issues. The hygiene standards across the entire resort are exceptionally high. Food restuarants and the rooms ​ ​The Food: Incredible variety, delicious quality, and safe for all ages to enjoy without a worry. Beach Hut and East West was our go to! Oh the Bakery! Boujee and very asthetic best iced latte with caramel and the fresh pastries you have to havs the croissonts at breakfast hot and fresh. ​Spotless Grounds & Rooms: The entire resort is kept very clean. A massive shout-out to the cleaning staff who looked after room 30... during our stay in the first week of August 2026. Thank you to the supervisors and everyone on the team, especially Mohammed Farouq, Ahmed, and Hassan to name just a few! ​Amazing Pools & Spa: The pool areas and aqua park are fantastic for both kids and adults, and the on-site spa is a brilliant spot to unwind and recharge. 10 pools to choose from and amazing kids water slides and areas. ​Outstanding Hospitality: Joan (hope the spelling is right!) at reception was wonderful and went above and beyond for us. ​Safety & Getting Around: The front security team and the buggy drivers were brilliant, friendly, and always helpful. We truly couldn't fault them. ​Areas for Improvement & Helpful Tips for Parents ​We did have a slightly bumpy start to the holiday, but credit where it's due all initial issues were completely resolved within the first night. ​Our main logistical challenge was that we were placed on the 3rd floor, and with babies, young children, and buggies, there are no lifts. Hauling strollers up and down the stairs was a workout! Tip for future guests: Make sure to request a bottom/ground floor room beforehand if you are traveling with a buggy. ​The good news is that you don't necessarily have to carry them all the way up every time you can safely leave your strollers at the bottom floor. The resort is very safe, and the area is covered by CCTV, so we felt completely at ease leaving them parked downstairs. ​Final Verdict: ​Despite the stairs, the staff's dedication, the incredible food, the amazing pools, and the total peace of mind regarding cleanliness made this an unforgettable trip. We would happily return in a heartbeat!

We stayed at this hotel for 10nights and had an amazing time the rooms were clean and were reasonably sized and the grounds were immaculate. There was no need for any trips for snorkelling and saw plenty of fish at the end of the jetty. Our 13 year old was entertained with the slides as was her dad. The pool bar staff were absolutely fantastic once they knew your drinks order we were constantly brought drinks which we loved. The food was outstanding plenty of choice. The restaurants were huge and the staff in the right hand side restaurant really looked after us and are a real credit to the hotel. We have left the best till last on a night we went up to the Irish bar just off the reception and we must say that Osama Ahmed one of the waiting staff is the absolute jewel in the crown made us feel so welcome and it was as if we’d known each other for years he really is a lovely man and always willing to help where he can. Thank you Osama for being a big part of our holiday

Mohamed Almetwly was absolutely amazing for our housekeeper kept room very clean and his towel art was amazing, the Moderna is perfect hotel food is amazing too, all staff work so hard , what a lovely stay would highly recommend

We’ve just come back after a week at the royal albertros Moderna! Our second time in this hotel and we could not fault it! Shout out to Mohamed our cleaner who always made sure our room was cleaned to a high standard! Mohamed always ensured we were topped up with drinks for our fridge and also joined in our towel making art competition. He was always the winner with his artistry! The spa staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for me and my family! Massive shout out to my brother Shoaep for always ensuring we were looked aftered! To Menna and Sabah for our amazing massages and hamam experiences and the lads that would always look after my daughter’s hair for the duration of our stay! (I can’t remember their names but I know Shoape will know who they are!) The waiters were always tentative at meal times and the pool side! A shout out to Ahmed at the sports bar who always made sure he remembered our drinks orders whilst we played black jack with the kids! To Lou Lou from the animation team who was so friendly and always very complimentary of my outfits and to Aladdin our photographer who made our family photoshoot one to remember!! The biggest shout out has to go to Shoaep at the spa for always making sure we were cared for as if we were his own and to Mohamed for working tirelessly to make sure our daughter had the best time making memories and competing for 1st place in towel art (we failed miserably! 😂) until next time please all of you look after yourselves lots of love and blessings from the ALI FAMILY (including Sheikh Bilal 😂)

### Hotel Review This was our second stay at the hotel after two years, and overall, we really liked it and had a good holiday. The hotel is a little dated now, and our family room was above the laundry room, so it was quite noisy. It was also a long walk from the main areas, which wasn’t ideal with a family. The food was okay, although it could be better. The entertainment was very good, and we felt the safety around the pools was excellent. The bakery was amazing addition . The beach was absolutely amazing and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Despite a few things that could be improved, we enjoyed our time here and would happily come back again.
