Pickalbatros Royal Moderna Resort

Staff at this hotel is incredible - always making sure you are having the best time and going extra mile to ensure your holiday is going great. This creates great overall atmosphere around the hotel! We stayed at Royal Albatros Moderna in April/May 2025 and returned in October 2026. Few things we noticed is that food quality and variety increased so much! (Not to say it wasn’t tasty last time) We were looking forward to our dinners every day. We sat mostly at Culina restaurant, where Essam, Ahmed and Omar Mohamed took care of us. Both me and my partner had birthdays during our stay and they made sure it was truly special. Bakery / deserts at Columbus were a great addition and had me coming back there every day to try something new. Coffee was very tasty too! Ahmed Afzal (lifeguard) helped us with our seats on the beach every morning and made sure we were taken care of there. Beach bar staff (unfortunately didn’t take his name!) worked really hard so that everyone had their drinks promptly and cleaned the beach from any empty cups regularly. We stayed in the area close to the pools (room 237X) and Mohammed made sure the room was spotless - sometimes even surprising us with towel art or making sure additional birthday cake was waiting in the room! Coral reef and the jetty is amazing at the hotel - I’d say location is therefore really good. Good value for money and we are already looking forward to coming back

We have just returned from our holiday at royal Moderna in sharm. We stayed for two weeks. We have visited sharm lots of times over the last few years. The hotel and grounds were spotless during our stay , our room 2140 although a bit dated was kept very clean by Ali ( our cleaner) . He was friendly and polite, everyday we had a different towel art on our bed . Thanks Ali . Unfortunately the tv only had 1 English movie channel. We usually have 3/4 when we stay in Egypt so this wasn’t so great. The pools all look nice but we chose the main pool as it was quieter and just a few steps from our room . We don’t really drink but the bar staff kept us topped up with drinks and tea . Thank you Maged Unfortunately the food was not to our liking. Often chicken or fish . I don’t eat these , we were given use of the White Elephant restaurant for our entire stay , but found the food in here terrible so decided to not go in there again , but I did find something most days which I could eat in the east west restaurant. Once again the staff in here looked after us . Big thanks to Yahia . He checked on us everyday and would get us anything we asked for . They honestly can’t do enough for anybody. If you like chicken or fish I’m sure you would be happy though. We didn’t use the coffee shop but it did look nice in there tbh . The entertainment was also not to our liking as it consisted of a children’s disco every night for the 1st hour .if you have children I’m sure they would love it . We didn’t stay out for long in the evening but Mohamed in the upstairs bar kept our drinks flowing. Thanks Mohamed. We had reception ring our room virtually everyday to see if we were ok . Sometimes this was a pain because we were often having a snooze and would wake us up . But they really did seem to care . The beach was nice with very shallow waters . You can get to the reef via the long jetty . Lots of beautiful fish to see . The water was lovely and warm . Excellent. There was lots of Russian guest and not many English. I’m sure people need holidays no matter where you a from . Though some of people were quite loud . I had a hair cut and wet shave in the barber shop inside the spa . Excellent work by Mo . Recommended. We got to keep our room free of charge until 7pm on our final day and were also given a free airport transfer with the hotel car . Very nice of the manager to do that for us . Overall we had a nice stay at this hotel .its clean and staff work amazingly hard , but unfortunately the food / entertainment was not up to what we have previously experienced in sharm , maybe we are just picky , but I do not see us returning to this hotel in the future.

First time in Sharm for our Honeymoon The hotel looks amazing in the pictures and all the reports however don't be misled. There are 3 main resteraunts.People walk with their plates to each resteraunt then find a table. We found this dangerous and a little bit strange. The food was bland and very salty. We managed to find something to eat each night but it wasn't anything exciting. Its all very geared towards the Eastern European tourist, entertainment, food etc. Don't be fooled by the A la cart White Elephant, its just a place you have to book and the vegetables come from a packet, no need to dress up and expect luxurious food We received our questionnaire on the last day in Russian. Tv. 40 channels only 1 in English BBCnews, our firestick didn't work as the WiFi signal is not strong enough Room was OK it was an adapted room as requested, bathroom tiles need replacing. The drinks are poor. Vodka whisky gin beer. Thats it. The life guards whistle every second every day for no reason The bakery upstairs is bleek and uninviting, tasteless cakes. Most of the staff look bored and tired unless you tip them , they then become your best friend The massages over priced, again a haggling game , thats another review because there is room for improvement . At night the kids sit on the steps that are there for people to walk down , a hazard if you need to get to your room uninjured. Dont use the taxis in hotel $15 to Soho, indrive was 200egpt pounds. Not sure why different currencies are used The main pool was ok but should be adults only and needs a clean. Waterslides OK but they are small and the photos make it look like a huge water park We made our Honeymoon great but would never return to this overrated hotel. There must be better places in Sharm that welcome all nationalities including the British. A manager tried in vain to make our stay happy, however this was 8 hours before we was due to leave, he let us keep our room till 18 30 instead of 17 00, said he was coming to reception to meet my husband when we left .. he never did. Was I surprised.. not really.

Location is ideal for a peaceful and tranquil holiday. We arrived late in the day but there was still lovely food available for us to eat. Our room was spotless and kept to a high standard throughout the whole stay thanks to Ameel. My partner has a nut allergy and this hotel dealt with this fantastically !! The staff in the Culina restaurant were amazing ! Especially Essam and Ahmed, nothing was to much for them to help us. We had two family birthdays when we were there. On both occasions we were presented with cake at the evening meal and lots of singing. This made the occasions seem special for our stay. The snorkelling is out of this world at this hotel. It has a jetty that leads to an amazing fringe reef. If it is to windy on the main reef there is an area half way down where you can go in and snorkel and see lots of fish. We were fortunate enough to see and Eagle Ray !! The hotel Taxis are good, but remember to haggle and stick with the price you are willing to pay :) Just one snag from me was that the air con wasn't switched on on the Gym for when it opened - I had to complain to get any switched on. Only a minor negative ( who wants to go to the gym on Holiday anyway ) I would recommend this hotel to any one. Lots of food variation. Great Staff and great cleanliness- wished we had booked longer than 10 days
