Rixos Sharm El Sheikh

We are currently staying at Rixos Sharm El Sheikh, and I want to make one thing very clear from the beginning: we genuinely love this hotel. The quality, the service, the staff, the food and the surroundings are excellent. There is really only one issue we have with our stay – but unfortunately, for us, it is a very significant one. I find it extremely disappointing that a luxury international hotel such as Rixos seems to tailor such a large part of its entertainment programme specifically to Russian guests. There are guests here from many different countries, and we have all paid the same premium price for our stay. Why, then, should international songs be performed in Russian, and why should so much of the entertainment revolve around Russian pop music? In a hotel of this standard, I would expect genuinely international entertainment that makes guests of all nationalities feel equally welcome. There is also a wider issue that makes this particularly uncomfortable. Russia is currently waging a war against Ukraine in which countless Ukrainians have been killed and families have lost their loved ones. This does not make individual Russian guests responsible for the actions of their government, but it does make such overwhelmingly Russian-focused entertainment feel remarkably insensitive in an international resort. Imagine a Ukrainian guest staying here who has lost a family member in the war and is then expected to spend the evening surrounded by Russian songs and Russian-focused entertainment. Surely a luxury international hotel should be more thoughtful and neutral than this. I have absolutely no objection to Russian guests enjoying their holiday, just as every other guest should be able to enjoy theirs. My objection is to an international five-star resort making one nationality and its culture so disproportionately dominant. Again, this is genuinely the only major criticism we have during our current stay. Everything else has been excellent, which perhaps makes this issue stand out even more. We all paid to be here. The entertainment should reflect that.

Very large resort with great entertainment - especially in the evening for adults. Entertainment team are fantastic - the cleaners go above and beyond. Great selection of food in buffet. Atmosphere was nice ❤️❤️

I previously posted a 5-star review about our experience at La Churrascaria – Brazilian Restaurant. After our five-night stay from 24 to 29 August, I would now like to share our overall experience at Rixos Sharm El Sheikh and its à la carte restaurants. We chose Rixos Sharm El Sheikh to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, and overall, the resort itself is wonderful. The rooms, landscaping, pools, bars, entertainment and DJ performances are excellent. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival, and we would especially like to thank Zeynep from Guest Relations for her help in organizing our restaurant reservations. 🌊 The Sea & Snorkeling The sea is definitely one of the highlights of the resort. From the hotel’s jetty, you can swim alongside many beautiful fish of different sizes. The underwater experience is fantastic and, in our opinion, you can enjoy an amazing marine experience directly from the hotel without even needing to visit Ras Mohammed National Park. If you enjoy swimming and snorkeling, we highly recommend making time for the sea during your stay. 🍜 Asian Restaurant We arrived approximately 10 minutes before our reservation and initially experienced an unnecessarily unfriendly welcome because we were early. Fortunately, the restaurant management intervened, welcomed us properly, and the staff member later apologized. After that, everything went very well. In particular, the friendly member of the beverage-service team made us feel comfortable with his smile, kindness and pleasant conversation. This showed us how much a warm and friendly attitude can change the entire dining experience. 🦐 Salt Seafood Restaurant Unfortunately, our welcome at Salt was rather cold and unfriendly, and we felt that the same attitude continued during the service. However, once again, a friendly member of the beverage-service team helped create a much more pleasant atmosphere. For us, the main issue was not the food but rather communication, attitude and the feeling of being welcomed as guests. 🇧🇷 La Churrascaria – Brazilian Restaurant Our previous review was mainly about this restaurant, and we still stand by every word. ⭐ Five out of five! The grilled meats were fantastic. The chefs were professional, friendly and genuinely welcoming. The waiters were attentive, polite and always smiling. The restaurant manager also personally came to our table to make sure we were happy and was clearly attentive to the other guests as well. The food, service and hospitality were all exceptional. One small constructive suggestion would be to expand and diversify the cold salad and appetizer section so that it matches the excellent quality of the grilled meats. Food: 5/5 | Staff: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Hospitality: 5/5 | Overall: 5/5 🇮🇹 Gusto – Italian Restaurant Unfortunately, Gusto was the biggest disappointment of our stay, especially because we had chosen this restaurant to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. From the very beginning, the welcome was cold and unfriendly. We also experienced several problems with the service. Our request for water took around 30 minutes. We encountered an unnecessarily unpleasant attitude during the ordering process, and although our main course was supposed to be meat, it was served as fish. To make matters worse, our pizza arrived only after we had finished our desserts and were preparing to leave. Unfortunately, our dinner was ruined. The staff here seemed either extremely tired or in need of better training. However, we did our best not to let this experience spoil our special evening. We reminded ourselves that we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and tried to focus on enjoying our time together. In the end, we decided that we would celebrate our anniversary again in Istanbul, where we hope to have the special evening we had originally imagined. Nevertheless, Gusto was simply not the special restaurant experience we had hoped for on such an important occasion. 🔥 The Mangal BBQ – A Wonderful Surprise After our experience at Gusto, we went to The Mangal with some hesitation, wondering whether we might experience the same kind of service again. What happened was completely the opposite. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles, genuine welcomes and friendly conversation. We were not kept waiting and were immediately shown to our table. All our concerns disappeared almost instantly. The beverage-service staff were friendly and attentive. The chef who accompanied us to select our meats was extremely polite, kind and helpful. The staff serving our table were smiling and courteous. The team who prepared and lit our grill were equally friendly and professional. And the chef who actually cooked the meat for us at the table was not only incredibly polite and friendly, but also clearly an expert at what he does. In short, every member of The Mangal team was kind, courteous, friendly and genuinely welcoming. And the food? Absolutely fantastic! The meats and kebabs were incredibly tender and delicious. Everything was cooked exactly as we requested, right beside our table, and served perfectly. We had already said that La Churrascaria was 5 out of 5. But The Mangal deserves the same score — and one extra star! ⭐ Everything was excellent. Thank you, The Mangal team, for giving us such a wonderful evening and for completely erasing the disappointment we experienced at Gusto. It was exactly the kind of hospitality we had hoped to experience at Rixos. 🍽️ Food & Beverage One of the strengths of Rixos Sharm El Sheikh is the variety of food and beverage options. There is a great selection of dishes and something to suit almost every taste. The quality and flavors were generally very good, and the presentation was impressive. Whether you prefer local or international flavors, there are plenty of options to enjoy. Overall, we were very satisfied with the food and beverage experience. 🛏️ Rooms Our room was comfortable and well suited to a relaxing holiday. The resort's landscaping and overall design create a pleasant atmosphere, and the location of the rooms makes it easy to reach many of the main facilities. The pools, beach, restaurants and bars are all integrated nicely into the resort. 🛡️ Safety & Security We felt very safe and secure throughout our stay. The hotel has a peaceful and well-organized atmosphere, and the security measures gave us extra peace of mind. We could relax comfortably knowing that guest safety is taken seriously. Overall, we had no concerns regarding safety during our stay. 🚶 Walking Accessibility & Buggy Service The resort is also very convenient in terms of walking distance. The beach, snack bar, main restaurant, bars, ice cream shop and coffee shop are all relatively close to the rooms, so many areas can easily be reached on foot. Another great advantage is the buggy service. If you want to visit the other Rixos property or need to go to reception, the buggy service makes getting around the resort very easy and convenient. We really appreciated this service during our stay. 💡 Tips for Future Travelers A few practical tips based on our five-night stay: • Make your à la carte restaurant reservations early, especially if you are staying for only a few nights. This gives you more flexibility with restaurant choices and dining times. • If you enjoy swimming or snorkeling, make time for the hotel jetty. The marine life around the reef is beautiful and well worth experiencing. • Bring a waterproof phone pouch if you enjoy taking photos or videos in the sea. There are plenty of opportunities for underwater photography. • Take advantage of the buggy service. The resort is large, and the buggies make getting around much easier, particularly when going to reception or the other Rixos property. • If you are celebrating a special occasion, inform Guest Relations in advance. We were very happy with the assistance we received from Zeynep in arranging our restaurant reservations. • Give the à la carte restaurants a chance, but remember that the service experience can vary from one restaurant to another. In our experience, The Mangal and La Churrascaria stood out particularly for their hospitality and service. • Allow enough time for dinner. Some restaurants can be busier than others, so if you have another plan afterwards, it is better not to schedule it too tightly. • Most importantly, relax and enjoy the resort. There is a lot to see, eat and experience, and sometimes the best moments are simply the ones spent enjoying the atmosphere. ❤️ Final Thoughts This review is intended as constructive feedback, not simply a complaint. Rixos Sharm El Sheikh is a beautiful, high-quality resort with excellent facilities, food and entertainment. What would make it even better is ensuring that every à la carte restaurant maintains the same level of warmth, courtesy, professionalism and guest-focused service. The difference between our experiences at Gusto and The Mangal showed us exactly how important this is. At The Mangal, the smiles, kindness, conversation and genuine hospitality completely changed our mood. That is what luxury hospitality should feel like. Our 30th wedding anniversary did not go exactly as we had imagined at Gusto, and we will celebrate that special evening again at a beautiful restaurant in Istanbul. But despite that, Rixos Sharm El Sheikh still won our hearts. Would we come back? Absolutely yes! ❤️ As they say, even the most beautiful things can have a few imperfections. This time, we experienced a few. Thank you to all the wonderful Rixos team members who made our holiday memorable.
