Rixos Sharm El Sheikh

I have recently spent two weeks in this wonderful hotel along with my wife. I have spent many years visiting Cairo and Alexandria on business so know how warm and welcoming the Egyptian people are. Strangely, I have never holidayed in any of the Red Sea resorts so decided to give it a go this year because of the relatively short flight and guaranteed sunshine! Check in was smooth and efficient and we were ushered to our room in no time - staying in block 4 so very close to main lobby. The room was very large, clean and well equipped. It has started showing its age in parts but really not an issue given it's only for sleeping in. The resort is vast - you can definitely get your steps in especially when staying at the top end! The grounds are immaculate and tended to on a daily basis. Pool areas are great - spent time at both the Oasis Pool and Lagoon Pool. Service around both was exemplary. Out of the 14 nights only ate at the buffet for dinner twice - choice and quality was good but much preferred the unlimited a la cartes which on the whole were excellent. Managed to secure bookings at all of these - no problem booking all of these through the portal with the exception of the Mangal (BBQ). There was never any availability through the portal but no problem booking through guest relations - however it's well worth it with excellent food and service. Ate at the Turkish, Indian and Asian twice each - my personal favourites. Seafood, Brazilian and Italian all good just not AS good in my opinion. Sushi was amazing - so fresh and well presented. My wife and I ordered the golden platter to share along with some additional sashimi (my fav!) - however there was a mix up on ordering and we were presented with a huge platter each (no complaints!). Loved the beach bar - just not sure about the plastic cups though sure they were going for an Ibizan beach club vibe. It is the staff that make the place - treat them with respect and kindness and you will get it back in spades! I can't remember all the names but ones that stick out were the beach bar team, the cart drives (especially Ahmed and Aladdin!), Kamal around the lagoon pool who never left us without a drink, the lobby bar team, and Mustafa (waiter working across all F&B outlets) who always had the widest smile despite the long hours. Special shout to Hassan from the SPA as well - never convinced us to purchase any treatments (despite telling me I was in need of a pedicure!) but was never pushy and always stopped for a chat. Really nice guy. Did three excursions through Tui via Travco. Whilst not directly related to the hotel itself I would like to mention the three Travco trip reps (Salem, Kareem and Mohamed Ali - all knowledgeable and great company). Also visited the Seagate hotel - definitely newer and shinier and better standard of cocktails. However it's on a much bigger scale with a lot of kids. As mine have grown up I prefer the laid back nature of the adults only - however I regret not staying there when my kids were younger! All in all we had a fantastic stay and I will likely return next year - something I rarely do. Although excellent the hotel is not absolutely perfect - however these criticisms are minor and certainly wouldn't stop me returning. The wooden sunbeds are all comfortable and well maintained - however the plastic ones that dominate the Oasis pool look like they have never been changed and certainly don't befit a luxury hotel. Evening entertainment is very professional but dance and DJ dominated - could definitely be switched up. Drinks quality/cocktails are hit and miss - Seagate far superior. Hopefully all of this will be addressed - see you next year!!

Over all amazing experience! The hotel was amaze g and the staff couldn't do enough for us! In particular Yousef from the lobby bar was incredible! He made us some amazing cocktails and was incredibly friendly. Ahmed Hamdy driving the shuttle cars was also amamzing! Super friendly and helpful the whole trip! Also Aladdin was amazing! Food in all of the restaurants was fantastic and great quality. The only thing I can mention that was not 100% was the drinks. I could tell that the premium spirits like absolute vodka was watered down as the measures were super big and didn’t hit like home. Local spirits probably the better choice if you want to really feel it. Room was super clean and made up perfectly every day. The entertainment team were really interactive and did a great job getting everyone involved and the daily entertainment was always fantastic. We will definitely be back! RIXOS!!

Our room was always kept spotlessly clean. Every day the room was clean, and we had fresh towels every day. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Mr Botros Makram from the beach bar. He was incredibly kind and went out of his way to look after us. Finally, we would like to thank all your staff, as they are extremely kind and very attentive to our needs. We couldn’t have asked for better, and that is why we are delighted to be returning to spend a few days at the Rixos. For us, the Rixos is ‘the place to be’. Best 5star Hotel in sharam el cheikh. Don't miss Mr. Ramadan for booking the dinner reservations. Great Hotel.

Got home Friday from the most amazing stay at Rixos. Room was of a high standard stayed in 3242 and Ali kept it amazingly clean. Loved the lagoon pool drinks were of high standard. Entertainment offered whatever we fancied chilled or more lively. I like ala carte so visited Italian the mushroom risotto was amazing. The bbq is a must amazing food and really fun. I always found something that was lovley within the buffet too. The buses around were a gods send particularly Ashmar. Booked cabana for our last day and it was worth every penny. Only down side is I now need to find a date to come back.
