We recently stayed here for a week on a full-board basis. The hotel itself is undeniably beautiful, set in a stunning cove with a gorgeous private beach and breathtaking sunrise views. The scenery is what truly makes this resort special, and waking up early to watch the sunrise from the balcony was one of the highlights of our stay. Our room had a lovely sea view and housekeeping was generally good, including a turndown service. However, for a five-star resort, the rooms felt surprisingly basic and slightly dated. The décor is very minimalist, toiletries were limited, the duvet was thin, and the TV was small and outdated rather than being a larger smart TV. The hairdryer was old but worked well. Unfortunately, the biggest issue for us was the bed comfort. The mattresses were very hard and uncomfortable, and we struggled to sleep properly throughout the entire week. The full-board package was more complicated than expected. Breakfast was only available in the buffet restaurant and was exactly the same every morning. Lunch included a starter, main course, dessert and one soft drink at a choice of three restaurants, which was a nice option. Dinner, however, was only included in the buffet, with a €20 per person supplement required to dine in any of the à la carte restaurants. While the restaurants are beautifully designed, we found the food disappointing overall. There was a good variety available, but much of it, including dishes in the buffet, was overly salty. The buffet dinner lacked variety throughout the week, and after trying the à la carte restaurants for lunch, we didn’t feel it justified paying extra for dinner. In fact, we ended up eating in Agios Nikolaos most evenings, where we found much better food and significantly better value for money. One of the biggest drawbacks of the hotel is the pricing. Cocktails were over €20 each, drinks were often more expensive than central London prices, and almost everything within the resort felt extortionately priced. The boutique shops were particularly disappointing, with products priced significantly above what they cost directly from the brands themselves. Even a pack of tampons cost €5. Water sports were also extremely expensive, with activities such as the inflatable sofa ride costing €30 per person for just 15 minutes. Service was another mixed experience. Whilst staff were efficient, service in the restaurants often felt blunt and unwelcoming rather than warm and attentive. For a five-star property, we never felt the hotel went above and beyond. It was my mother’s birthday during our stay, which the hotel knew from our passports and previous correspondence, but nothing was acknowledged until we specifically requested something. To their credit, they then provided a complimentary cake, fruit platter and bottle of sparkling wine. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, I would recommend informing them in advance and requesting arrangements directly. The resort appears to cater primarily to young families, with a large number of babies and toddlers during our stay. We wouldn’t particularly recommend it for couples seeking a romantic getaway or families with older children, as there is very little evening entertainment and limited activities beyond the beach and pool. Accessibility is also worth considering. Although there are funicular lifts throughout the resort, they are extremely slow and often take longer than simply walking. Even after using them, there are still numerous steps to navigate. Anyone with mobility issues may find getting around challenging. The pool area is relatively small considering the size of the resort and the number of guests. The hotel is also quite isolated, with nothing within walking distance, meaning taxis are required for virtually everything. Taxis to Agios Nikolaos cost approximately €16 each way, but we found this money was better spent enjoying superior restaurants, drinks and excursions in town. A couple of additional points worth mentioning: the coffee machine in the room was extremely slow, taking several minutes to make a single coffee, and there is also a €15 per room per night tax payable at the end of the stay, which was not clearly communicated during booking or at check-in. One issue that particularly disappointed us was housekeeping taking cash that had been left on the bedside table. Initially around €15 in notes disappeared, which we assumed may have been mistaken as a tip. We later tested this by leaving some loose change, which was also taken. While valuables should always be kept in the safe, we would not expect housekeeping to assume any cash left in the room was intended as a gratuity. Overall, this is a beautiful resort in an exceptional location with a stunning beach and fantastic views. However, for the price charged and the five-star rating, too many aspects fell short of expectations. While we’re pleased to have experienced it once, we wouldn’t return and did not feel it offered good value for money compared with other luxury resorts.
Myself and my family spent May half term once again at Daios Cove and it was our 5th visit altogether. First our and foremost the food at Daios Cove is unbeatable, we visited Taverna most days (the view alone would be worth it) for lunch or dinner as the food is exceptional - the service was also amazing. I think probably one of the best restaurants we have ever been to in the world. Even though it was a very busy week at the hotel, they make it work, and are extremely accommodating. We couldn't always get a lounger by the pool but it really didn't matter as it was so wonderful on the beach. The Resident's Club all inclusive deal is such great value for money - not only can you dine a la carte in 3 of the restaurants (our favourite was Taverna, followed by Ocean and then The Beach House) but you can drink champagne all day long. We'll be back.
The staff were fantastic especially Firefly room service who delivered breakfast and dinners. Restaurant’s and bars were excellent. Our room was stunning immaculately clean and elegantly furnished with stunning views of the mountains and sea and our own private pool. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay truly wonderful.
This is the best view that you will ever see. the hotel located in a bay and it was built on a mountain so you have to walk a lot between-the rooms the beach the pool the dining room although they have an option for golf cart that can drive you between the places. From the poll to the beach you have 45 stairs and there is no any other options. In the hotel, there are a lot of families with little children. You must consider it if you want a quiet vacation for adults only.. The gym is fantastic. Well equipped.. The staff are very, very nice. we booked a room with a private pool as you can see the photo it was very, very nice. The rooms are exactly as you can see in the website . The only issue I had was with the food the hotel offer you breakfast lunch and dinner . The breakfast and the dinner are at the buffet-restaurant and I must say that the dinner was pretty bad. We had only one dinner there and we didn’t came back but the hotel offer 4 restaurant . We ate in two of them : at the beach and at the Tavern, and they were excellent we enjoyed them a lot. We also rent a car at Herz via the hotel.. the representative named George is very nice and it was a pleasure to rent the car from him so we could go out for for touring in the village around otherwise, if you need to take a taxi, it’s gonna cost you a lot of money. For total, the hotel is very nice value for money very good.!
Some of the staff is nice but some of them don't use their common sense at all. This is supposed to be a 5 stars hotel but it should be 4 max. The cheapest message is 210 euros so I was expecting something great but it was poorly done. Nothing special about the spa. The isolation between rooms is really bad. I could hear my neighboors talking late at night. Not enough space around the pool to get a chair. On an other hand food is really good for breakfast and diner.
