Ialyssos Bay

Just returned from a fabulous week at this hotel with my mum. Comfy bed, wonderful shower, room was spotless. We paid extra for a sea view and so worth the money watching the sea with my morning coffee. Location was good, very quiet and just a short 10 minute walk into the town. Yes there was aircraft flying over but the noise didn't bother us and we liked to watch the planes flying in from our balcony. All staff went above and beyond from the cleaners to the restaurant staff to the bar staff and entertainmenf team. Nothing too much trouble and all very friendly. The pool is strictly 10am to 6pm but I often sat round the pool from 8 as I am an early riser which was never an issue as I just relaxed and read my book. Lifeguards were attentive and first class. Rules were enforced for safety due to steep drop to deep from shallow water. Pool area was spotless. Plus side always plenty of sunbeds and no sunbed wars. The food was extensive and always something different to suit all tastes. From fresh salad, pizza and pasta to delicious Greek offerings plus many many more. The food was hot and fresh and varied. There was entertainment on a daily and nightly basis which isn't my thing but none of it was over the top. Music round the pool but not all day long. We are beach lovers so would use pool in the quieter times and head down the path to the beach in busier times. My only slight issue is no shower facilities for late check out. We had to check out at 11am but not getting picked up till 10.30pm, whilst there was the option to pay to extend till 6pm check but at an 80 euro fee. I spent little time in my room apart from sleeping so I would have paid a lot just for the luxury of a shower to freshen up. There is a cold shower by the pool but far from ideal. If a shower room was provided, nothing fancy just somewhere private to freshen up my stay would have been perfect. We did not venture far as wanted a chilled relaxing break and it ticked all my boxes. We would 100 % return.

Come back from a 2 week holiday. It’s not the worst holiday you have but not the best either. This is a good 3 STAR hotel nothing more. Rooms - but on the smaller side but has everything you need including fridge tv and all the usual stuff kept very clean. Staff - with the exception of reception most of them are miserable as sin. The entertainment is the worst I’ve seen of any hotel, doesn’t start till 9 finishes at 10 nothing for the kids really. Food - I had no quarrels with the food admittedly bit repetitive but there is something for everyone and we never struggled to find something. The ques for dinner are ridiculous, sometimes we were waiting well over 30 mins to be seated unless you’re down dead at 7pm. Bar - the cocktails are rubbish the spirits are definitely watered down. But the beer and wine is really good. Location - brilliant location BE WARNED book a taxi through the hotel they get €10 commission but they fail to mention that. We done the shuttle bus instead. You are on a flight path you will notice the planes they go over constantly so bear that in mind. But not hard to get round to anything. Go to patty’s just down the front brilliant little bar.

Would give zero stars if i could, booked for 2 weeks but had to escape 1 week early, the chicken nuggets and fish fingers arent meat at all they are just grey mush and lupins, beds are rock hard and room half empty and basic with ants swarming the room, food options very basic and most of the food is mush and disgustin, salad and bread best options, pudding options are disgusting most days with little description, no bar in lounge open kn daytime to relax without going near the pool where they blast music all day, snack bar food unedible and fountain drinks are too sweet and bitter, night staff rude and unhelpful, lifeguards tell you not to do basic things like jump in the pool, the cake they only serve once a day in the snack bar drier than the sand at thd beach, Oh wait, it gets worse, there is no sand at the beach, its just rocks that you have to spend more money at the hotel for like how you have tl pay fifty euro deposit for table tennis, would never come back again, wouldn't have come if tui were allowed to tell us the info we need all hotels surrounding this are luxury for 4 star while ours feels like a 2 star hell

Never usually write reviews but felt this was needed, Arrived back early hours yesterday after a weeks stay. This is a fantastic hotel which I would highly recommend. No issues from start to finish. Room - clean, spacious and a great view of the pool. Pool - superb especially the no reserving of sunbeds. This honestly was great no early alarms to get a bed!! Food - caters for all. I have allergies and never went hungry. You would have to be extremely fussy to complain. Staff - so friendly and helpful. Very close to beach (note it’s very rocky). Lovely strip of shops and restaurants less than 10 minute walk away. Mixture of families and couples of all ages. Would I come back? 100% YES. Thankyou for an amazing holiday!! Just back from this hotel with my daughter and grandson. Really enjoyed the hotel, very clean, lovely friendly staff food excellent with different choices to suit everyone. Always sunbeds available as no putting towels out early as they would be removed by the pool man. Recommend the boat trip with fun island , fantastic and food , activities, transfers all booked with the TUI rep. Would definitely return again.
