Meliton

We stayed at this hotel the last week of August, and the weather was absolutely stunning and perfect for a last bit of summer sunshine. The hotel staff were mostly friendly and polite, and the overall cleanliness was good around the communal areas and the rooms. The hotel is situated in a remote part of Theologos making it extremely tranquil and peaceful, and it has a lovely pool great for relaxing. It took 20-25 minutes to walk to the local bars and restaurants, or a short taxi ride. If you are wanting to explore Rhodes old town there was a bus which took ~ 1 hour to get there. The food at the hotel was fine, it was tasty but very repetitive with the same options pretty much everyday, and very little choice of food which for a 7 day stay didn’t really bother us. Unfortunately for me however this hotel did not meet my expectations for multiple reasons. Between restaurant times, there were no options for snacks ect unless you paid extra, and especially at nighttime you had to pay for water which when we arrived late at night was a bit of a shock. Next, the room we’re stayed in was the worst room I’ve ever stayed in. It was extremely noisy and you could hear every single noise outside all hours of the day. The door rattled constantly, and the bed was concrete. Overall we slept terrible with not one full nights rest the entire time we were here. Finally, the hotel also charged for air-con that was set to 25oC and couldn’t be changed. This added to the let down of the room which impacted our stay here. Overall, the hotel was okay, but due to the room and overcharges on very basic amenities - I wouldn’t come back unfortunately.

Staff are very rude ! No enjoying yourself after 12am as the bar closes and they want silence , 3star? more like 2star , no cups ! one socket in bedroom one pillow per bed , not allowed to have air con under 25 degrees need to pay 7euros for this per day , in the middle of nowhere needing to travel by bus or taxi to anywhere ,food very poor , all inclusive is only at certain times then need to pay , no snacks available in between times , pool had a film of scum on the top , tv on the wall is the size of an iPad , shower is back to the 70’s and floods the floor , limited to two drinks in happy hour , would not recommend anyone staying here unless staff are replaced and rooms updated

We had a lovely holiday. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower was hot and toiletries provided. The food was varied and plentiful for us. We enjoyed karaoke night, time around the pool and cocktails. There is a bus put on to get to the beach daily, but its an easy walk too. The bus stop is close to get to Rhodes etc. This hotel is good value.

We arrived at Hotel Meliton in Theologos in the early morning hours. The check-in process was somewhat inconvenient, as we had to complete a long and complicated electronic form on a smartphone, including our passport number and information about food preferences and allergies. The room itself was clean, and we had no major complaints about cleanliness. However, there were some issues with the bathroom. The shower cabin was broken, and there were ants in the bathroom. We initially thought there was no hairdryer because there wasn't one in the bathroom, but we later found one in the room, next to the mirror. There was also a second telephone in the bathroom, although we were not sure what it was for. We received two small bottles of shampoo and one small bar of soap, which did not last for the entire stay, so we had to buy another one ourselves. The food was rather disappointing. It was quite repetitive and, in our opinion, not particularly tasty. Breakfast was filling, while for lunch the best options were the fries and tzatziki. One evening, spaghetti was served without sauce. We would like to add, however, that the chef clearly tried his best with what was available, and we appreciate the effort. One day, because we had to leave early, we ordered an early breakfast. Unfortunately, we received only two slices of toast, some butter or margarine and a little jam. The biggest advantage of the hotel was definitely the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We would especially like to mention Honey, a lovely Filipino member of staff who was exceptionally kind and always cheerful. She even treated us to biscuits with our coffee, which was a very nice touch. There are two swimming pools on the hotel grounds. Our room overlooked the smaller, more intimate pool, which was about 1 metre deep. Free sun loungers and parasols were available by the pool. The hotel is located in a rather remote and quiet area. For us, this was an advantage, as there was very little traffic and it was peaceful. At the same time, this location is worth considering if you prefer to have restaurants, shops and attractions within walking distance. We rented a car independently and had a Fiat Panda, as most of the other cars were already unavailable. Having a car was very useful because it allowed us to explore Rhodes freely and use the hotel as a base for discovering the island. Drinks were served by the hotel staff. If we wanted to refill our own water bottles with cold water, we simply had to ask a member of staff, and there was never any problem with that. We also ordered drinks without ice cubes as a precaution during our stay. Overall, we would recommend Hotel Meliton mainly to people who plan to rent a car and explore Rhodes independently. The peaceful location, swimming pools and, above all, the exceptionally friendly staff are the hotel's greatest strengths. If you are looking for sophisticated or varied cuisine, however, you may want to consider other accommodation. Despite the shortcomings we experienced, if I were to visit Rhodes for a third time, I would seriously consider staying at Hotel Meliton again. The wonderful staff and the peaceful atmosphere would be the main reasons for coming back.

Second time here and we love it. They really looked after with regards to being gluten and dairy intolerance. They keep the place very clean and the Greek night was hilarious. Always was able to eat at each meal. Staff are all excellent
