Sahara Playa Hotel & Apartments

We stayed for one week in early June as a family of 6 with 2 elderly grandparents with reduced mobility. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, all of them newly refurbished with USB and USBC outlets next to the bed. The location is very convenient for Playa del Ingles, taxi stand and restaurants along the promenade. My parents with mobility issues were allocated a very convenient room on the ground floor with easy access the the restaurant and the second pool area. The reception staff were very nice and helpful with one exception. The issues I would consider not worthwhile of a 4* hotel were: - No AC in the gym area (potentially due to the refurb not fully completed) - The pool bar is way too small for the size of the hotel (the pool next to it was cordoned off apparently due to incomplete refurb work). Also if you couldnt find a seat a the bar (which was the case most nights) you could only get drinks in cardboard cups to take to the restaurant. Anyone that has ever had a pina colada from the disposable cup will know how unpleasant that is. - The wine selection included in the all inclusive deal was not very pleasant - Sangria was not available for at least 2 days - The food was OK but nothing special. - The restaurant area had a very clinical feel, bright overhead lights, nothing at all comfortable or inviting you to spend a bit more time in. - Evidence of huge cockroaches in the communal areas. We found one hiding behind our curtains in the room one night making a very loud noise, which we had to hunt down and kill at 5am. - The pools are very small, although the sun loungers were very generously sized and comfortable So overall very convenient for our party travelling with elderly grandparents with mobility issues, but lacks any kind of atmosphere. I dont think I would go back.

Whilst the staff were lovely (all of them apart from one) and the food was okay I was more than a little disappointed with the fact the air conditioning did not work in my room. When I spoke to reception I was told there is nothing they can do but offered a fan. This is simply not the level expected from a 4* hotel. When I complained to my holiday provider I was told by them that the receptionist I spoke to said I “was happy” with being offered a fan. Unfortunately due to this I will not return to the Sahara playa

Nous avons séjourné dans cet hôtel du 7 au 17 juin 2026. L’établissement nous avait été vendu par TUI comme étant complètement rénové. Malheureusement, cela ne correspondait pas à la réalité. Sur les trois piscines que compte l’hôtel, celle située au niveau du pool bar était fermée pour travaux pendant toute la durée de notre séjour. De plus, des travaux nécessitant l’installation d’échafaudages ont eu lieu pendant notre séjour, avec un bruit incessant et, selon nous, des conditions pouvant présenter un risque pour les clients. Malgré notre réclamation sur place, TUI nous a indiqué qu’il ne s’agissait que de simples travaux d’entretien. Nous trouvons cela particulièrement regrettable, car nous aurions souhaité être informés de la situation avant notre départ afin de pouvoir réserver en toute connaissance de cause. Concernant le séjour en lui-même, le personnel nous a semblé froid et distant. Les animations autour de la piscine étaient inexistantes durant la deuxième semaine, et les animations du soir commençaient déjà entre 18h30 et 19h, ce qui ne correspondait pas vraiment à nos attentes. Au final, une très mauvaise expérience et une grande déception. Nous estimons que les clients devraient être informés à l’avance lorsque des travaux sont prévus et qu’ils ont un impact sur les infrastructures et la qualité du séjour.
