Suitehotel Playa del Inglés - Adult Only

What a great hotel! Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by Lucy, she explained all we needed to know and we even got a glass of sparkling wine at the same time as checking in. Upon going into our room, it was a little warm and the air conditioning didn't seem to be effective as we would like, but after unpacking and going back to reception to mention the air conditioning, Lucy called the maintenance guys who arrived at our room 5 minutes later. He did what he had to do (I think he cleaned a filter of some kind) and the air conditioning worked well after that. Lucy was very apologetic and obviously did care about our comfort. Lucy did offer us another room which didn’t quite have the same view, we declined. The next day upon seeing us, Lucy was asking if everything was still good with the room etc, we interacted with her a few times during our stay. She was really lovely, understanding and obviously wanted us to be happy and comfortable. Restaurant wise, there was always plenty of staff to clear and reset the tables, take drink orders at dinner time etc. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, there was always a varied and plentiful choice. Dinner in the evening always had a different theme, so one day it may be say Indian, Spanish, Canarian, Mexican or Asian etc, but in amongst that, there was still enough food choices to keep everyone happy and if you found the choice limited, then all I can say is, you must be a fussy eater. Absolutely great food, staff and environment to eat in. Never a shortage of tables to sit and eat at. The only complaint, and it is the one and only complaint I had for the whole two weeks, was when it was a barbecue evening, I asked the chef in charge of the grill for a steak. He was putting raw chicken onto the grill as I asked for the steak, he immediately used the same tongs that he used on the raw chicken to then pick up the already cooked steak to give to me. I immediately refused the steak and actually did tell him off for using the same tongs he’d used with the raw chicken. He immediately knew that he had just done wrong. He changed the tongs and then gave me a different steak off the grill. I don't know if that was a momentary lack of concentration or normal practice for him, but it's the little things like this, that could possibly give you food poisoning. Thankfully, that didn’t happen. The maids, who cleaned the rooms, always did a good job. Towels changed when needed. Always polite when we saw them. Absolutely no complaints with any of them or the service they gave. We left a home made small laminated card stating in Spanish 'Thank you for cleaning our room, a small tip for you' and left a couple of euros each day for them rather than a bigger tip on the last day. At least that way, whoever cleaned it that day, got the tip. It did vary who actually cleaned the room over the two weeks we were there. Ground level, there was a 25 metre pool and a smaller one as well. Both with plenty of sun beds and a bar area. On the roof terrace, one side was partitioned off for nudists to use, so my wife and myself were in there a fair bit. Over 40 sun-beds were available, so never a problem getting a couple of them for us. To cool down, there was two jacuzzi type pools and showers. To the other end of the roof terrace there was another sunbathing area for guests who preferred not to strip. That area also had jacuzzi pools and showers etc. In between the two areas, there was a roof top bar for all your drinks etc. Plenty of seating for everyone (118 seats I think the sign stated) and it became a nice place in the evening to rest, relax, enjoy the view and enjoy the music / occasional entertainment. There was also another bar down stairs with entertainment nightly, but we preferred the roof terrace bar. On the whole, the staff were great, they work hard and were all very polite and pleasant. Although he was hardworking, Toni does need to smile more and not slouch walk around as if he is unhappy in his work. Special mentions go to…. Lucy on reception = just a lovely warmth about her and obviously cares. Daniella in the restaurant and bar = Always busy and with a lovely smile on her face the whole time, obviously a happy person. Bayu in the restaurant and bar always cheerful and hard working as well. Zak serving at top bar and restaurant = Really charming Moroccan lad, lovely guy, who spoke beautiful English and it made his day when we told him this. Vasile in the restaurant = A cheerful and attentive manner and good attention to detail. Perfect location, which is about 100 metres, if that, to the nearest beach. Ideal for a an evening walk after dinner, which my wife and myself did. One direction was for a quieter relaxed walk away from all the tourist shops / bars etc, the other way, was where restaurants / bars / tourist shops were. The busy Yumbo centre was abut a 10 minute walk away as well. You also had the Kasbah centre with bars very nearby as well. About 50 metres away from the hotel were the bus stops you needed for Las Palmas, Puerto de Mogan, airport etc. On a Wednesday and Saturday, you also had the local market about a two minute walk away. We would, 100% be happy to stay here again if in Playa del Ingles.

Thoroughly enjoyed our All inclusive stay. Check in was a breeze, even though we were early one of our rooms was already prepared so that we could drop our bags and go straight in to lunch. Food was excellent with fresh cooked options at all meals. Bit repetitive, as is always the case with All inclusive, but ate our fill every day. Drinks were great on the all-inclusive with one of the best choices of Rum i've seen on AI. There is one major exception though which was a big issue for us - there is zero choice of Alcohol free on the All-Inclusive. You could pay from the main menu for zero beer or spirits but the AI menu basically had fizzy or cocktails ( so fruit juice then!) I've never been anywhere that didn't at least have alcohol free beer! Usually you get a discount on the main menu if you're AI but not here - very unusual. At busy times the bar staff did struggle a bit, they worked their socks off but could have done with more of them, Table service in the evening as well but either way you'll have to wait a bit whilst the bar staff catch up! Never had a problem getting a sunbed but get out earlyish if you want a specific spot, and don't reserve a bed - they do remove your towel if you take the mickey! The rooftop sunbathing was a lot less busy, no umbrellas up there but great if you want the sun, great bar up there as well, this is the main bar in the evening and the views are amazing. 2 different areas on the roof, a nude side and a prude side, The nude side was actually busier to be honest but this is Gran Canaria! Rooms were great. Comfortable, clean and one of the best showers i've had in a hotel! - You have to pay for the safety deposit box which always grates on me in this day in age. Tea and coffee etc in the room and a fridge if you want to have real milk from the local supermarket. All in all a most excellent 2 weeks and one of the few hotels that we will almost certainly be back to but please sort out the Alcohol Free drink situation. People who can't drink alcohol shouldn't be punished!

Had a amazing stay at HL suite Hotel on arrival was treated to a upgraded room which over looked the pools and the kazbah,the room was large and spacious and was very happy with the modern decor the location was perfect for us for the beach ,the dunes or the surrounding entertainment, we stayed all inclusive and could not fault thd food it was amazing for breakfast lunch and dinner ,there were 3 ground floor pools and pool bar all kept immaculate the hotel also has a great rooftop bar with a sun bed section for nudes bathing and also s separate section for those who are not brave enough also.i cannot fault the hotel and would definitely stay here again.it is a adult only hotel so my only negative was that no lilo or music around any of the pools im sure at least 1 of the pools could be made to accommodate some tunes whiles relaxing.also no problems at this hotel getting a sunbed at any time of the day as no reserving beds.

Great central location. Close to the beach, dunes and shopping centres. Atmosphere wise it is very chilled. I would say this is more a hotel you would use as a base to then go out during the day and evening. The entertainment is not like you would expect in all inclusive. There is no day time entertainment as such. There are few thing like aqua aerobic or bingo, but not a full blown entertainment team. Rooms are very clean and tidy, and look like they have been refreshed recently. Value for money wise, I would maybe go for a half board if you aren’t a big drinker, as there is lots of restaurants and bars locally that are not expensive. Also for all inclusive, is limited. You can get any foot or drink after 11pm. Which when arriving late it’s ideal. Thief like the bottled drinks, are not included. Neither are crisps or smoothies. On arrival we got a 1 bottle of water and then had to go to a local shop to get some more water for a room as it was not replaced. Noise lever wise, once the balcony door is shut, you do not hear the sound of the local night clubs. The only noise you may hear is the air con in the room, as it’s very loud and not very effective. Also you will hear the people above you walking around and using the bathroom.

clean hotel, great food - a lot of variety , staff are friendly , lots of facilities to use and near everything.
