Overall excellent value great for kids. Food not to bad for half board / all inclusive .lovely location

Came for a family holiday with a toddler and a baby. Hotel itself is worthy of its 5*, very well presented, clean and the location is fantastic. We booked a jet2 package and was staying in the Castillo zone, I tried to move us to the adventure zone which is advertised as more kid friendly however this hotel was fully booked. The Castillo zone is fine for a family however is very limited in what it offers in a small social area. The main pool overlooks the pacific toward Corralejo and is a beautiful spot to just sit and relax. The pool itself was okay, probably not as clean as I would expect for 5* but definitely not bad by any means. The Castillo zone does have very little to it in terms of day time things to do. The snack bar offers drinks throughout the day but aside from that there is nowhere to get a drink until the sports bar opens at 5pm, so you’re kind of forced to sit by the pool even if you just wanted a drink. The food in the buffet bar is to be expected with just about every all inclusive buffet, there’s some good, some bad, could do with a bit more variety here and there but it is what it is. Again, maybe for 5* it could be better but it’s buffet food at the end of the day so just don’t expect much else. The evening entertainment is good, and the animation team do an excellent job of trying to vary their shows and games. If anything a kids disco at 8:30 is a touch late but obviously that isn’t the same for everyone. Can’t fault any of the staff, all friendly, helpful and always carrying a smile. The house keeping team do an excellent job turning round the rooms. The rooms are a very good size, we had 2 cots, 2 prams and never once felt crowded in our room. We had both bath, shower and toilet with bidet and a separate walk in wardrobe

Amazing location and views, lovely friendly atmosphere, our room was amazing, very big , me and my partner thought out stay was excellent value for money and would definitely come to the hotel

We went gold senior suite with sea view and wow the suite and the view was fantastic. Service in gold restaurant was very good if Luis was on duty. He definitely looked after us. The other staff seemed distant and just cleared the tables, but worked well always lots of free tables at all times. We mainly used the sort of attached buffet. Food was average to good, always something to choose. Free visit to spa was a nice treat. You can choose adult only sessions. The gold pool water was lovely and warm, always lots of sunbeds and staff lovely. My only niggle here would that the jacuzzi part is filled with babies and toddlers, the main area ball games and inflatables are allowed and in full swing. I think as it used to be adult only, changing it to allow families is fine but please stop the ball games in both areas as there are lots of family pools where ball games and other stuff would be better. Just a thought. Overall a splendid holiday and all staff were great!

My review is based on value for money; however I will note our 2 week stay was a tale of 2 halves. We were warmly welcomed and the reception area is lovely. Our bedroom was incredibly spacious and really made our stay relaxing; we loved the walk in wardrobe and large bathroom. Air con was just right. The hotel during the first week felt quite quiet; going to the pool was no problem, or getting a table in the restaurant for example. The food was impressive the first week; fresh tuna, steaks, seafood, sushi, cold meats and cheeses etc. The second week (when it was much busier) saw a noticeable drop in terms of variety and quality. It was cheap offerings on a round robin. We actually ate out 3 times as it wasn’t a very pleasant experience, however the first week we didn’t feel the necessity. Who wants stews etc at lunch in over 30 degree heat? The snack bar and pool bar is good; hamburgers etc are all individually wrapped; fries come in pots as does pasta etc; nice to see things in this environment clean and with healthy options too. Soft drinks and coffees can be self served but the bar serves other drinks and proper barista style coffee (all included). The sports bar has a big terrace with a sea view which we felt could be sold a bit more. Tables were always available. Mini disco is every day at 20:30 inside. Safe in room was free of charge and water bottles available. Everywhere was very clean and lots of staff. Paid to use the slide park one day - don’t bother ! Poorly maintained (especially vs castillo) and only suitable for young children. The buffet there isn’t open at lunch just the snack bar; which was messy and basic. Staff were mostly really lovely across the hotel. The location (which we know well) is lovely; a good 15 minute pleasant walk to the marina and the promenade is safe with beautiful views. There is a shopping centre right behind the hotel. The hotel will kindly call a taxi for you (rank is close by so usually v quick) - Marina is less than 5 euros and the complete other end of PB less than 10. All in all I would return but just for a week.
