Amazing family hotel – the staff make it special We’ve had an absolutely amazing stay and genuinely can’t thank the staff enough. The staff throughout the hotel are fantastic, but what really stood out for us was how brilliant they are with the children. Everyone has been so friendly, welcoming and helpful, and it really does make a difference when you’re travelling as a family. A special mention also has to go to the animation team, who were absolutely brilliant throughout our stay. Whether it was the kids’ club, mini disco or the other entertainment and activities they put on around the hotel, they always brought loads of energy and enthusiasm. They were fantastic with the children and played a huge part in making the holiday so enjoyable for them. The food has also been excellent. There is loads of choice at every meal, everything has been fresh and plentiful, and the variety has really impressed us. It goes well beyond what you might normally expect from an all-inclusive buffet, with things such as whole roast duck alongside a huge selection of other dishes. The pool areas are fantastic. There always seems to be something going on, but at the same time we’ve never struggled to find sunbeds – there have always been plenty available. Our room was fantastic. We stayed in a Real Adventure Junior Kids Suite, which was perfect for us as a family and the kids absolutely loved it. The room was always immaculate, as were the dining areas throughout our stay. The cleanliness in the main areas we used was excellent. Something else that really impressed us was the visibility of the management team. On most evenings and during meal times, members of management could be seen around the hotel speaking to guests and checking that everything was OK. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that to the same extent at another hotel, and it gives the impression that they genuinely care about guests having a good stay rather than simply waiting for people to raise problems. If I had to find one criticism, and it really is only a minor one, it would be that some of the other communal areas, particularly some corridors and communal toilets, are starting to look a little tired and could benefit from some updating. I want to stress that this wasn’t an issue with the cleanliness of our room or the dining areas, which were always immaculate; it’s more that a few of the less prominent communal areas could do with a little attention and modernisation. This is a very minor point though and did very little to detract from our overall experience. We’ve had a fantastic family holiday and would happily recommend the hotel. The facilities, food and rooms are excellent, the animation team are superb, but above everything else, it’s the people who really make the place special. Thank you to everyone for an amazing stay!

We stayed at this resort with our 6 years son and overall had good experience. The staff is friendly and welcoming, unfortunately I must admit we found the fact that to Adventure water park applies daily charges per child and adults -something that isn’t mentioned when booking holidays.We found it very poor only making guests aware of this at the checking in by reception. Apparently previously it was part of the resort until this year . We went to see it and we don’t think is worth paying for it as there are 2 sets of water slides, pool and very basic climbing tower for the children. Im sorry but this is very average which Id expect to find available in any decent resort especially if you want to call it family one -not section it off behind gates! We made a good use of main pools and our son loved swimming and splashing there , inflatables are allowed in side pools and he enjoyed joining me for water aerobics few times so good fun. Animation team did activities twice a day there and they are getting guests involved too. Pool area is well kept, sun beds comfortable, the bar had good drinks and snack bar was ok. Could have been kept more tidy as well as toilets by pools with high numbers there. Food : We ate at the main restaurant, food was cooked well, good choice. They did themed dinner such as sushi, sea food, tacos ,always a roast and cut meat and fish was cooked fresh. There is side station which does burgers, pizzas, omelettes for breakfast which I enjoyed. We found desserts repetitive ,there was always some fruit. At lunch time it was busy and many tables not reset unless you sat down -then waiters come promptly and served you drinks, especially Gabriel was very welcoming and efficient. Few confused my sons drinks for my husbands but it was quickly resolved. Room : standard modern,beds comfortable, made, changed regularly , towels too, krpt clean. There is walk in closet with safe which was handy, fridge which works but we didn’t use it, aircon very quiet and balcony with seating. Location : it’s good, there is small bit rocky beach right outside main pool gates. We did go to the Papagayo beaches , gorgeous golden sand and clear waters. Nearest cove is about 10-15 mins cliff walk which was fine, the other 2 could take up to 45 mins walk. Be aware local taxis won’t take you, you got to walk or bike. Note :The beaches are natural hence no trees so bring your own umbrella if you want shade. We found it fine for few hours before heading back. We did trip around island one day and found First minute travel agent excellent and efficient. You can find them in shopping mall right outside of the hotel as well as good selection of shops , supermarket etc We did enjoy coastal walk around Playa Blanca with fabulous views of next door island which leads to Rubicon marina. You can either walk or get taxi there. Also there are 3 alla carte restaurants which are barely opened too, you simply don’t need it on all inclusive . Evening entertainment ok, for kids fine but lot of evenings just short live shows followed by loud music until 11pm was ok and didn’t bother us. We enjoyed our stay here but wouldn’t be coming back mainly due to children park charges. Its bit shame that they sectioning of guests like this as well as gold level guests too - making it into rather divided limited access layout - something we have not come across anywhere else Read less

We had a great family holiday with a 7 year old. The hotel was very clean, the staff were really friendly and the service was great. I am coeliac and they were very accommodating at making separate food to ensure no cross contamination. The kids adventure zone is great for children.

Review based on a "Grand Suite Real Adventure" room, for one week, on an all-inclusive basis in July 2026. Likes: A large, well-appointed suite which was cleaned & maintained well each day, and any additional requests for fresh linen/towels were addressed promptly within 30 minutes. There was a large variety of good-quality, tasty food in both the breakfast buffet in the Real Adventure area, and the lunch & dinner buffet in the Castillo area. Service in both was sufficient, but not refined by any means. The outside areas were huge, spacious, and never felt crowded - even being advised the hotel was full. All areas of the hotel were very clean and maintained well. Reception service was friendly, with a commendation for Alma who was particularly friendly and helpful at every interaction. The welcome drink and porter service for luggage was appreciated. Entertainment was fun and varied, particularly enjoyable for kids. Dislikes: There is zero pool service, and bar opening times were very limited during the day. This meant any water or drinks had to be purchased from a store outside the hotel, or taken from the room, which coupled by the fact that the in-room fridge (which, was however advised in the room description) does not actually cool/chill drinks but only "maintains temperature", was an inconvenience. As was the process with pool towels, where only two short windows throughout the entire day were available to collect/change them (by handing over towel cards, despite wearing all-inclusive wrist bands, which felt ridiculous). These are basics in resorts claiming less than 5-stars.

Lovely hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful especially in the restaurant and at the gold pool. Good selection of food. Well worth a visit
