Grand Hyatt Lanzarote Playa Dorada Resort

Our second visit this year. Very clean, in a great location. Value for money . Only did bed and breakfast as there are so many restaurants near by. Did do Grand club and worth the extra money.

The hotel had some great parts like the pools, it was quite great views and very relaxing you do however need to put a towel down early to get a bed. The location is 1st class and room service 2nd to none. Now for bits that let yhe hotel down The food, same everyday with no themed nights, I would go B&B ans eat out aa thw food ans choices outside hotel are excellent and not expensive. Also take some toilet rolls as it is very rough ans hard throughout hotel ans rooms. Thw location ia brilliant, thw beach just outside has crystal sea and a great beach bar, a lot cheaper than the hotel. I would say this is a good 3 star hotel with a 5 star price. Would 100% go back to resort but would choice B&B next time or a difference hotel.

Overall we had a great week staying at this hotel, we stayed in a grand club room on a half board basis, this allowed us access to the club lounge, ideal for snacks and drinks throughout the day, we also had access to the two infinity pools, the Elysian beach area is in desperate need of attention with old worn sun beds and weeds that need to be removed. Around the pool more parasols are needed as despite the hotel’s policy of removing towels from the sun beds after fifty minutes of no one being sat on them, I didn’t see this enforced once during my stay. Granted I never had an issue getting a sun bed but unless you were at the poolside at 9am you struggled to bet a parasol. The club access also give us entry to the spa for free for 1 hour, the spa was well worth the visit, sauna, Turkish bath, mineral pool with jacuzzi features. The location of the hotel was ideal, 5 minute walk to the marina and its shops and restaurants and 10 minute walk into the resort centre. I would say the hotel is closer to a 4 star than a 5 star as listed by Jet2.

We had a week here The place is nice , but could be better. If there are any issues it takes two or three times until the staff actually sort it . Air con in our family room is near none existent, after complaining 3 times with two young kids would not upgrade us . ( only option given was room next door ) Which is the same air con system ducted. So no point Obviously big issues with air con if you look at old reviews Staff great in restaurants , bars etc Would say 3.5/4 stars Spoke two two other couples with kids One has left as they can’t stand the heat after complaining paid to go else where at extra cost. And the other like us is just lumping it. Loads of empty rooms in the complex They could be more accommodating . Also everything needs a good jet wash around pools and paths .

The hotel is very good and worth visiting but the entertainment some nights was disappointing and the stage area was limited visibility. At breakfast they cooked your eggs to order so there was always a queue. The hotel is within walking distance for the beach, marina and shops. The rooms were excellent and clean. The AI restaurants are worth visiting with good food choices and the main restaurant always had lots of choices and the salads at lunchtime were very good. Would definitely recommend this hotel
