Landmar Playa la Arena

We travelled here for a week, AI family of four - two adults & two teenagers, August 2026 with British Airways. The Interior of the hotel is stunning, really beautifully kept and maintained with trailing plants, spotlessly clean. The standard rooms are a good size and well maintained every day. Balcony view was good with the mountains and the sea in view. The pools are nice and the areas around them kept clean. It's a bonus that you cannot reserve sunbeds - the pools open at 9am and 10am and people queue at those times to reserve their beds, but there are plenty available. The staff at this hotel are phenomenal without exception. Right from check in, to housekeeping, waiting and bar staff - all first rate - friendly, welcoming, polite and helpful, they are the best asset to the hotel. The food in the AI buffet is fairly bland and not great. It's fine and there is a good selection, but it is mass prepared as you would expect, and so doesn't have a lot of flavour. The Macronesia a la carte was very good, so reserve spaces there if you can. Unfortunately the other grill restaurant had no availability for our stay. The cocktails were hit and miss - Alex served the best ones! But most of the Pina Colada's and Mojotio's we had were watery and not very good. The beer is decent, the wine too. The massage and spa treatments were very good value for money, and the Bali Beds are great if you want a fancy day by the pool. Mixed clientele - some were rude and oafish, and others we had some nice conversations with. There's not a lot to do in and around the hotel - the beach is nice but very crowded, a few shops along the front carry mostly the same touristy type things to buy. Overall this was good for a short break of a week, I don't think we would want to stay any longer. The hotel were very helpful with a birthday cake for one of our party too which was reasonably priced. A good stay for a family break.

Great hotel with a fantastic atmosphere. The staff are excellent and the food options offered are great. Big shout out to the animation team for all the fun and games.
