Riu Palace Tenerife

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful; nothing was ever too much to ask. The hotel truly excels in cleanliness and hygiene — common areas are kept spotless throughout the entire day. (Perhaps the sun loungers outside could be rinsed more regularly on the underside.) The buffet food was tasty and offered a very varied selection every day. Krystal restaurant and the Spanish restaurant also served delicious dishes. One point for improvement, however, is that drinks were often not served cold enough. This was especially noticeable with wines by the glass, and even the sparkling wine (bottle/glas ) in the buffet restaurant. Occasionally, bottled beer was also not chilled sufficiently. Our room was cleaned very well. Regarding dress code in the restaurants, it might be better to reinforce the expectation of restaurant‑appropriate attire. It suits the beautifully set tables for dinner. I did notice a bit too many men wearing shorts, which don’t really fit the atmosphere (they are more linked to sportswear). Our thanks also go to Hotel Director Acevedo for arranging a chilled welcome drink in our room. Despite the small remarks, I still give the hotel the highest rating.

We have just returned from the most wonderful stay at Riu Palace Tenerife and it truly deserves every one of its five stars. The food alone would justify a return visit. Every meal was exceptional - high quality, beautifully presented, constantly replenished and offering a huge choice. Breakfast was fantastic, with every type of breakfast imaginable. All ingredients were fresh and premium and nothing ever ran out. One of life’s true joys was sitting on the terrace, sipping cold white wine and enjoying a perfectly cooked seafood risotto while overlooking the ocean, looked after by dedicated and genuinely friendly staff. We also loved the Greek restaurant, where we seared our own steak at the table - such a fun and memorable experience. The Krystal Restaurant was another highlight, with thoughtful wine pairing and incredible service. A special mention goes to Jame, who made us feel so welcome and truly special throughout the evening. Our room was luxurious and scrupulously clean. The his‑and‑her sinks, generous space and the comfiest bed we’ve ever slept on made it feel like a real retreat. Returning from dinner to find the bedside lights on and the sheets turned back was a lovely touch that made the stay feel even more indulgent. The pools were spotless and beautifully maintained and the gardens were clearly cared for with ongoing attention to detail. The adults‑only pool was a peaceful addition. There were plenty of sun loungers, although many guests did reserve them early and leave towels on them all day, which wasn’t monitored by staff. Still, reclining on a lounger with a glass of sangria and delicious bar snacks was one of the highlights of our holiday. Staff worked incredibly hard in all areas: cleaning, tidying, replenishing - and always greeted us with a friendly “olé” as we passed. Their warmth and professionalism were evident everywhere. The gym had everything we needed, although the lack of air conditioning made longer workouts difficult; stepping outside and feeling the cool air was quite a contrast. It’s the only small improvement we could suggest, as I do like to work out on holiday to balance all the delicious food. The surrounding area is lovely, with a short walk to a shopping centre, supermarkets and charming tavernas lit with twinkling fairy lights at night. The promenade was perfect for a nightly stroll, and many guests enjoyed running along it each morning. The manager was visible around the resort, greeting guests, which was reassuring and showed real pride in the hotel. Reception staff were knowledgeable and impressively switched between Spanish, German, Dutch and English with ease. Entertainment was a nightly event, with soloists and duets providing a relaxed atmosphere. A special mention goes to Comical Symfunny, who made us laugh and cry with their incredible vocal talents - their rendition of Time to Say Goodbye was unforgettable. Thank you to all the hardworking and professional staff who made this holiday so perfect for our family. We would love to return.

Gorgeous hotel in a beautiful location with direct access to Playa Del Duque Norte beach. All the staff at the hotel are hardworking and friendly. My husband uses a mobility scooter and he had no problems with access around the hotel. We never waited long for a lift and there are many ramps. We were in a partial sea view room no 515, large room with settee and large balcony, lovely view of the sea and towards Porto Colon harbour and Playa De Las Americas. The restaurant were very accommodating for my husband. They had reserved tables near to buffet. The waiting staff were all so friendly and helpful. We found the food was fabulous. So much choice and always hot. They catered for all tastes, Continental breakfast, full English, cold meats, cheese, salmon, pancakes, churros, pastries, cereals, granola, porridge, breads, jams, Nutella, peanut butter, yogurt, nuts, fresh fruit. Juices, smoothies, Cava. Coffee and tea are brought to the table. Evening meals again so much choice. meats, salad, vegetables, pasta, pizza, fish, sushi, even caviar, I am a fussy vegetarian and always found many choices. Deserts all gorgeous, cakes, selection of ice creams, cheeses, nuts, fruit. We found the entertainment pretty good. The shows were held on the top floor with a gorgeous view. The bar staff were attentive. I found the drink prices quite comparative to local bars. The only negative would be the reserving of sunbeds by many selfish people who don’t use them for hours on end. The hotel needs to enforce the rule of no reserving allowed. Many times we had to look for a pair of sunbeds. Many unoccupied but covered in towels. So frustrating! This end of Costa Adeje is a lot quieter than further up the coast with a handful of bars, restaurant’s and shops within a few minutes walk. The more livelier area is about a 20-25 minute walk. We hope to return to this hotel in the future.

We have just returned from a week stay at Riu Palace. We were very happy with the hotel, the location with a sea view was excellent. We were half board, where the options at breakfast and evening meal were varied, with staff constantly replenishing the dishes. Our server David was excellent, he even remembered our drinks order every evening, and always greeted us which was so lovely. The rooms were large and cleaned every day with new towels provided. We feel that we had good value for money as this was booked on a last minute deal, but I wouldn’t hesitate paying full price. The pools were great, always had plenty of sun loungers available. We used the pool bar most day for snacks/drinks. Location - About a 20 min walk into the Costa Adeje shops, bars and restaurants which was great for us as the majority of the route was flat. I would recommend this hotel, thank you.

Great location- lovely hotel in general. Costa Adeje is lovely resort and especially enjoyed walking along promenade to La Caleta. The staff really make this hotel and are truly excellent. It was my husbands 60th birthday while we were there and staff made great effort with specially set table . I ordered a birthday cake which was lovely. Special mention to Eva, Effrain, also Valerian, Joshua and Pilar on reception. Food was plentiful, lots of choice. We loved the Spanish restaurant although were only able to book one night. We weren’t interested in the gourmet one. Plenty of sunbeds , get down early to be able to book 4 beds together. As usual , some people hogged beds that were hardly used all day. Entertainment was ok- felt that the entertainers had to really work to get audience engagement and also finished early. Having previously been at Riu Gran Canaria last year I think we were spoiled there with the entertainment which was very good and expected entertainment to be the same or similar. My one complaint with the hotel was that both our room and my son’s room were affected by cockroaches on several nights . We reported these on every occasion and were assured that housekeeping were dealing with them. I didn’t think this was a good enough response from what was supposedly a five star hotel. Eventually it culminated in us both being offered a change of room which we accepted. It’s the first time we’ve ever had to move rooms on holiday and it was disruptive. We were given a complimentary bottle of cava as compensation. Overall, we had a lovely holiday but I’m not sure I’d return in a hurry ( probably because of the cockroaches). For this reason I’ve not given 5 star review.
