Grand Hotel Continental

The hotel has an excellent location with direct access to a beautiful beach and stunning sea views. The swimming pool is very large, clean, and well maintained. The room size was comfortable—not too small, though not particularly spacious. The sea-view rooms offer a fantastic view. Breakfast was varied, delicious, and satisfying. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. On the downside, the hotel feels outdated and would benefit from renovation and modernization. Parking is available in a nearby public parking area for €6 per day (subject to availability), which is a good option. The hotel's private covered parking is convenient but quite expensive at €30 per day.

Overall, our stay was disappointing. The location is definitely the hotel's biggest advantage, as it is convenient and beautiful. However, many aspects of the property need significant improvement. The cleanliness was inconsistent. Some areas were clean, while others clearly needed more attention. The furniture is outdated and should be replaced. The swimming pool and several of its facilities are rusty, which gives the impression of poor maintenance. The food was acceptable, but the variety was limited, especially for vegans and vegetarians. Finding suitable meal options was difficult. The coffee was also of very poor quality. The biggest issue was the bed. The mattress was incredibly hard—almost as hard as the floor—making it very difficult to get a good night's sleep. With better maintenance, updated furniture, improved food options, and more comfortable mattresses, this hotel could offer a much better experience. Unfortunately, in its current condition, I would not choose to stay here again. Staff is very frendly and helpful but overall i find it very pricy for what they offer!

10/10!! beautiful hotel, friendly staff and our favourite holiday location yet! the whole holiday felt unbelievable everybody was so friendly including the locals and everywhere you looked was beautiful. situated close to the beach, yummy restaurants, shops, bars and sunset views i’d recommend this hotel to everybody just wow. definitely will be visiting again! arrivederci🫶🏼

Lovely hotel great staff. Maybe not ready for the season but food was amazing and the waiters made our holiday. Thank you to Franco and Gabriel for making us feel special.

We were taking a four city tour through Italy and chose Livorno as it was on the coast and the pictures made it look like a very nice place to visit. While driving their from Florence we noticed wayyy more industry than we expected, as you literally have to drive through the docks and various warehousing before getting either to Livorno or to Tirrenia and this particular property is on the beach in Tirrenia. The property itself has serious potential, as it’s right on the coast and large! It has plenty of on-site amenities, including a large, 200 meter lap pool. We went at the end of September, when it was off-season, yet they still had the beach and pool staffed and operational. Checking in was bland… the girl who checked us in simply got to the point and offered no further assistance, even when we asked about places nearby to eat or things to do – She simply stared at us. The room was very small, with little “creature features.” There were no USB plugs, the AC outlets were the three prong that didn’t match the adapters we had from England/France. The bathroom was too small and the shower was very small. The only thing nice about the room was the partial ocean view. The property itself was decent. The breakfast wasn’t very good – the breads weren’t very fresh and the other items didn’t look very appetizing. The location of the property is decent, as it’s a quick walk to nearby restaurants or a quick drive to Pisa. Overall – I’d definitely never stay here again… In fact, I’d not come back to this area again.
