Locanda Al Leon

Our planned stay in Tuscany during June was interrupted when we bought tickets to see Andrea Bocelli in St. Mark’s Square. Where to stay? Locanda Al Leon is a ten-minute walk to the piazza, but a world away when inside. Our hosts were engaging, happy, and helpful. The room was a classic. Suggest you opt for breakfast included. Highly recommend. The hotel is quiet, upscale and good value for money. Thank you.

Quaint little hotel located in a great location in the heart of Venice. The hotel is over 500 years old so it possesses a feeling of nostalgia. With this being said, there is no elevator due to its age and the restrictions imposed due to its. I only mention that for those who may have difficulty climbing stairs but this common in many of the old hotels in Europe. The hotel is located a short distance from the pier, and if you have been to Venice, this is a convenience seeing that all transportation is by boat. The taxis and buses are all boats. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean. The pricing was very reasonable and the rooms was very cozy. The only thing I would recommend is research room options if traveling with children because if you get a small room it could be a little cramped. The hotel does offer breakfast from 8-10A. It is €10 if you do not include it in your reservation. We opted not to only because we are early risers. There are several restaurants, bars, bakeries, and stores within feet of the hotel. All and all a nice place to stay.

First time in Venice and stayed 1 night. Great location. Nice boutique hotel. Will stay again.

Stayed at the Locanda al Leon for three nights at the end of March 2026. The location of the hotel could not be more ideally located. Literally a 3 minute walk to St Marks Basillica / Doge’s Palace. The hotel is closely located to bars / coffee shops / restaurants as well. The rooms are traditionally decorated and quite basic, but lovely and clean (with comfortable bed!) Breakfast was basic continental but there was a selection of fruit, yoghurt, breads and cereals. The staff were friendly and helpful 😊 overall, a great little hotel, set in the heart of Venice, what more could you ask for?

What a fabulous little gem of a hotel. Great location just a stones throw from San Marco and five min from rialto. The most comfortable bed! Friendly staff too!
