Couples Swept Away

This was our second trip to CSA and of all of the great resorts that we have visited in the past this would be the first one that we have actually returned to. At check in we were informed that the exact room that we had requested 7 months ago was already booked and not available but that we would get a comparable room. I know nothing of the motel business but it would seem that a resort claiming to be 5 star could accommodate what I perceive to be such a minor request. The operations manager Gordon said that they would never honor a specific room request no matter how far in advance it was made. After the disappointment of not getting our requested room we were told that our assigned room was not ready yet and we should grab some lunch and come back in an hour. When we returned to the check in desk, our room was still not ready and told to come back in 30 minutes. After traveling all day and not having a room that we could relax in and start our vacation I asked to speak to the manager Gordon. After the escalation things started to happen and after a few minutes of him speaking to someone on the phone we were told that we could proceed back to check in and then on to our room. Once again, it is most disappointing that it took the Manager to fix a problem that never should have existed in the first place. When we did get our room it was quite warm and would take about 24 hours before it was anything close to comfortable. Once in our very warm room we discovered a minor issue that needed attention. Outside our room there was a group of maintenance men working. When I approached them with my concern Kendrick B immediately inspected the issue, started and finished the job within minutes. Wow! This is the type of accommodating service that I was longing for. Once we were settled and the room while never it really cooled down was tolerable and things started improving. We have to compliment two of our bar staff, Nickaylia and Cion, both of which were exceptional. All of the staff were great and I wish that I could mention them all by name but really all of the staff should be commended. The entertainment was also great with the steel drum show being outstanding. The water sports was also a highlight for our vacation. On one of our Couples excursions, the sunset cruise, we stopped for a swim and also got to enjoy another show. This one was not sponsored by Couples but was still outstanding. There were several young men who put on a spectacular cliff diving display for us while we swam. It was good enough that we had to show our appreciation with a cash tip. In some instances, we were disappointed with the food. The breakfast meats were most distasteful. When we went to the repeater’s dinner of lobster and Filet Mignon, the lobster was very chewy and the Filet was a tough sirloin. I’m sure that they face a huge challenge serving 75 people at the same time and I am also sure that our food was left under heat lamps for an extended amount of time. The Hors d’oeuvres before the dinner were outstanding and without a doubt the highlight of the repeaters dinner! I am sure that Couples is still recovering from Covid and the recent hurricane and some of the issues that we experienced will be corrected with time and more experience for the staff. Once again, we would like to thank the wonderful Couples staff who made a great vacation for us. If you happen to see a blind man (William) on the beach please help him in any way that you can as he depends on us for his livelyhood.

This was our fourth time back at couples swept away and is still our place to go next year. We had an amazing holiday. The staff deserve a lot of credit for the way they treat there guests. So many staff recognised us from last year so that says a lot about there customer care. A special mention to Katie, Noytoya, chevel and SHarie and not forgetting my husbands water wife’s. They know who they are. The bar staff on the beach were great. They give you a red flag every morning and when you wanted a drink put your flag up and they are at your bed in minutes. You can’t ask for much more than that lazing on the beautiful beach and wow it is beautiful and be waited on also. The ocean is beautiful. So clear and calm. We stayed for three weeks and the weather was the best we’ve had on a holiday to negril. We stayed in an atrium room on the upper floor. We were firstly placed on the lower floor and we requested can we have a higher floor. Even though we didn’t arrive till 11pm at night it was not a problem they said we could have a higher floor the next day and this was done efficiently. Great service. The room was cleaned to a higher standard every day. The food here is so good. Even though we were there for three weeks I can honestly say we never got bored of the food. Our favourite place for evening dinner was The Feathers. Excellent food and excellent staff including our bar server who kept our drinks flowing. Thank you. Lobster night Monday nights in feathers is amazing. We didn’t go for breakfast in the mornings as we are not breakfast people but we occasionally had breakfast as room service which was really good. Pastries fruit yogurt and tea and coffee and cold juices. Jamaican night on Friday was great. So much effort put in with all food stations outside and wonderfully decorated. This is weather permitting whether it’s outside. We were lucky enough to be staying on Independence Day and the show and food they put on from lunch time was so lovely too. We would like to thank you all at couples swept away for making our holiday so special. Looking forward to coming back next year already.

This was our first time traveling to Negril. Best beaches we’ve seen in Jamaica so far. Crystal clear waters and clean beaches. Our stay was fantastic. We were met with some of the best service and made the most memorable experiences. Rovaldo, Javon, Sally and Petro - Ann were amazing at the beach bar. They were so professional, accommodating and lots of fun to talk to and get to know. We will miss this place and the wonderful people we met along the way. Rooms were always clean and entertaining was great. Delicious food, from al a cart at the buffet (where we were served lobster and perfectly made steak) to the restaurants, Feathers- steak house to Lemongrass - asian style. We hope to be back as soon as possible.

This was my husband and I’s first time at CSA. Day one we realized why so many return. As first timers were invited to a special steak and lobster dinner for what they call repeaters, all the guests who have stayed there in the past. The entire restaurant Patois was packed. So many are return guests. We met so many nice people. The food was good. I have a gluten allergy and found that they really tried hard to make things for me. Two different mornings I was prepared gluten free pancakes for breakfast. At the buffet they post signs to let me know what was gluten free. Since it was relatively soon after the hurricane, I saw very little evidence that a major storm had come through. Our room had a small view of the ocean from the large veranda. Comfortable bed. Everything we needed. We already have plans to return in February 2027 and become repeaters ourselves.

Just got back from 10 glorious days here and I must say it was spectacular. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was outstanding everyday and I love the fact you can visit the Al a carte’s more than once, champagne and smoked salmon for breakfast as standard if that’s your thing and always something fresh on offer. You get free trips including a catamaran 2hr boat trip which unfortunately for us was packed with 60 plus people so my only comment would be less people would be a better experience but hey it’s free so I’m not complaining just my opinion. All non-motorised sports included along with a pristine white powder beach where the staff work incredibly hard to keep clean. Always a sun bed available at any time off day and the cushion on the sunbed can also be used as a floaty in the sea which is a nice touch. The drinks are of good quality and you can even choose what drinks you want in your minibar including full bottles of spirits with no extra charge. The rooms are large, clean and with the most comfortable bed I have ever been in. The only one small thing I would have liked is a headboard as the gap between the bed and pillows make it difficult to sit upright in bed if you fancy a nice coffee in the morning. All in all this was the perfect holiday where we didn’t want to go home and will definitely be going back. Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday one to remember.
