Riu Atoll

We visited the Rui Atoll Hotel at the end of August, beginning of September. What can I say? The location was idyllic, the weather was perfect, and the proximity of the rooms to the beach was also a very pleasant surprise. We were a family of six with different age ranges from sixty-three to fifteen. However, each one of our family members had something to do. The rooms were very nice; the smart bathroom was equipped with all the modern furniture, whilst towels and beach towels were also provided on a daily basis. The beds were very comfortable, and the mini bar was restocked every day as well. So if you are on an all-inclusive package, then you can make use of this. Although we do not drink alcohol, it was also loaded with a number of soft drink beverages. The staff at the hotel were incredibly warm, friendly, and eager to help if you had any queries. A special mention to Nizam, who did our room on a daily basis and left it very clean and without any sand on the floor, which we inevitably brought in when out on the beach next to our room. We also attended the buffet, which had a wide variety of food to each and every person's taste. We had some members opting for more Indian-based dishes whilst others were more roast and fish based. However, there was something for everyone, whilst the sweets were also varied in number and the veg and fruits were also very sweet and delectable. The ice cream was also very nice, and a special mention to the coconut ice cream, which was very delicious. The staff at the buffet were also very helpful, and a mention to Krish. Most of the members could help you if you had any dietary queries or allergies, whilst there were two specialty restaurants which also provided very tasty cuisine, one being an Italian and the other more steak based. You book the place either via ringing reception or by the App. Overall, we stayed for seven days and enjoyed our stay. There was Scuba Carib, which was a watersport part of the hotel, and we made good use of the free water sports, which were the non-motorised ones, whilst my children attended the water sports for the snorkelling, which was also enjoyable. The water here is so clear that you can go out to the third flag and still see the 'ocean floor' Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel again and would love to return one day in the future. The staff were incredibly customer focused. So if you are after a relaxing trip without too many hiccups, then this would be the place to book. If you are going to the Maldives, a special mention also to the seaplane flying out to the hotel, which is another memorable experience, one which we still chat about on our return. You can see the beautiful views of all the different islands whilst flying to this private island. Compared to other hotels in the Maldives, it was very good value for money

We went with a family of 6, our elderly mum, 2 adult boys and a teenage daughter. We weee looked after very well. There was a buggy available on request for my mum who had difficulty walking. The snack bar in the room had plenty of drinks and the beach just outside the room was an added bonus. We could always have a splash whenever we wanted. The breeze was mild and the weather was perfect Though it’s considered to be a rainy season but the rains only came for minutes and they were welcomed if we were already in the sea. The staff was warm and friendly. The room was cleaner everyday and the bed had beautiful towel decorations often in our 1 week stay. The bathroom with full light had a silhouette ( image of the person in the shower) which we were not very comfortable. We tried having a shower with only dim lights or just lights in our room so that problem was solved. Overall the food was excellent. Sports Bar games were good. The beaches are gorgeous.

On arrival this hotel and location exceeds expectations and is the most perfect hotel to retreat to. Our family stayed in a beach front room which gives the picture postcard view every morning. Huge comfy bed a good sized room and bathroom. Perfect for us. Mini bar replenished daily. As a family we stayed on the beach and chilled. ( We didn't acces to pool area, persinsl choice, however looks an upbeat vibe, music and entertainment, gorgeous pool and swim up bar) Snorkeling on the house reef entertained us. We saw rays, turtles, sharks and many beautiful fish. Breathtaking experience. Nazam our room cleaner was exceptional and friendly. He daily cleaned ( thoroughly) our rooms, fresh towels and bedding. Even decorating our beds throughout the stay, outstanding art and creative. Restaurant buffet, so much choice, fresh, tasty throughly enjoyed. We met Philip the souz chief on arrival who discussed what food to assist our allergies, this ensured us to enjoy the food avaliable. The Steak restaurant is a must, we had an exceptional meal, wine and service. All staff in all restaurants made us welcome and go beyond to give expectional service, offering top ups of drinks and wine without having to ask. To name a few, Thaney restaurant manager Nee, Maleesha. Entertainment weekly cycle, themed nights decorated to the theme. ( White nite) very well organised went every evening outdoor seating perfect under palm trees. Service and staff expectional remembering our names and drink orders. To name a few Roshan, Asalila, Faz, Rumesh, Kirsh. We will return, sad to leave our little peace of heaven.

This was our second holiday at Riu Atoll and we loved it as much as the first visit. The island is the prettiest that we've visited, with breathtakingly beautiful views. The staff are fabulous, nothing is too much trouble for them. At the Sunshine Pool Bar, we always felt welcome and got consistently great and friendly service from Rumesh and Roshan. Jess was brilliant as ever, and was so good with our twins. She and they remembered each other from our last visit. Nico, Supon and Singha were great too - all of these bar staff feel like friends and will make you any drink that you ask for, if they have the ingredients. Our room was always immaculate with lovely towel animals from Damith. He was friendly and helpful if we needed anything. A special mention to Nandana, who always checked in and had a chat, on this and our last visit. Food - the buffet was brilliant, with so much choice at each serving. We ate far too much as it was all so delicious and tempting! The chefs do an amazing job here, providing a great variety of dishes. Phillipe always welcomed us at the buffet and restaurants, the rest of the staff were great too, in particular, Suarez, who always joked with the children and chatted with us, Rahul, Yoosuf and Deep were all lovely, helpful and welcoming to name a few of many. Susie was also so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. These guys all work so hard to make sure we have a great experience, and they succeed. The Steakhouse and Italian restaurants are a real treat. Its nice to be served your meal and the food is so good. The steaks are tender and well cooked. The lovely lady who wears traditional dress at the steakhouse is a great team member too, who we've met on both visits. The reef is a delight to snorkel, though we had some days where the current was strong, so had to take care. The end of the island where the reef and sand bank are is stunning. we walked there almost daily, to see the beautiful views (and burn off some of that fabulous food!) Evening entertainment is very good, we especially enjoyed White Night and Flower Power Night. We're not so fussed on karaoke, but appreciate that others like it. We also enjoyed the pop up bar on the beach by the buffet. This was really nice for a change and the lady who sang had such a nice voice. More of that would be good. If we could make any suggestions it would be to have the Sunshine pool bar open some evenings as a quieter option. A small pop up bar at the reef end during the day would also be a welcome addition as if you are visiting that end of the island there are no options for refreshments. Well done to all of the Riu staff who helped make our stay such a good one!
