We had an absolutely amazing stay at Lagoon Attitude! The resort has such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, making it the perfect place to switch off and enjoy Mauritius. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed the facilities and beautiful surroundings. Everything was well looked after, and we genuinely felt that we could relax and enjoy every moment of our holiday. Our seven-night stay went by far too quickly! We leave Lagoon Attitude with wonderful memories and would happily return in the future. Thank you to everyone at Lagoon Attitude for making our Mauritius holiday so special. Highly recommended! 🇲🇺🌴☀️
Location excellent Atmosphere Brilliant Rooms - Clean and very very pretty Value for money Cleanliness excellent Service GREAT and all staff very very friendly
The hotel is beautiful and the staff go above and beyond for you. The facilities are excellent and everything is well maintained and clean. The setting makes you feel as though you are on a tropical island rather than a hotel- lots of trees and tropical birds. We stayed in the whirlpool suite which had a stunning view of the beach. Food was excellent and you get access to the 3 à la carte restaurants our favourite was coral. Beautiful setting and fantastic food and service- thank you Nissan. Lots of sunbeds and places to relax. We used the spa which was a lovely relaxing way to end our honeymoon. We loved our stay here and look forward to returning in a few years.
We went to lagoon attitude for five nights as part of our honeymoon trip. The staff were all amazing to deal with, so friendly and helpful! Especially Henna who always went out of her way to look after us.
I’m writing this review on the penultimate day of our eight day stay at Lagoon Attitude and honestly I cannot believe this is a four star hotel. We have stayed in five star hotels that haven’t provided this level of luxury, attention to detail or service. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was outstanding. We were offered cool towels and a welcome drink while checking in and the ladies on reception were incredibly knowledgeable, warm and wonderfully humorous. We fell in love with the hotel almost immediately. We were shown to our ground floor room with a gorgeous sea view overlooking the boathouse. The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed and wonderfully designed with a subtle sea inspired theme. The little finishing touches, particularly the hammock outside, made it feel even more special. I would definitely recommend emailing the hotel before your stay and requesting a ground floor room. I’m sure the rooms on the first and second floors are equally lovely but we absolutely loved having our own little outdoor space and that view. A huge thank you has to go to Kaveesh, the manager, who is quite honestly one of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. His help and kindness made such a difference to our stay. The food was another huge highlight. We were lucky enough to eat at every à la carte restaurant during our stay and every single one was outstanding, not just for the food but for the choice, quality and service. A few personal recommendations. At Coral, have the parrotfish. Absolutely delicious. Quite possibly the nicest meal I’ve ever had. At Lemongrass, the tempura prawns are a must. Kaveesh recommended these to us and he was not wrong! At Kot Nou, the chicken dish was fantastic. At Kot Nou there is also a Saturday lobster night which looked incredible and a complimentary cookery class for guests. If you want to do the cookery class, book it as soon as you arrive as spaces can fill up. Benitier, the buffet restaurant, also deserves a special mention. There was an enormous range of choice, everything was spotlessly clean and on occasions there was live music which added another lovely touch to the atmosphere. One thing we particularly loved was the hotel’s commitment to sustainability. There were so many vegetarian and vegan choices available everywhere and although we aren’t vegetarian or vegan, we found ourselves choosing those dishes repeatedly because they were genuinely delicious. And of course we have to mention the Taba J locally themed food carts for lunch. The whole concept is brilliant and the team were fantastic. A special thank you to Hanna at the Seabreeze Bar for her warmth and humour, Neel at the Wave Bar for his incredibly attentive and knowledgeable service, particularly his cocktail recommendations and the entire team at Taba J who welcomed us every day we attended. The sustainability mission here isn’t just something written on a website. You see it everywhere. There are multiple still and sparkling water stations throughout the resort where you can refill reusable bottles. If you forget yours, the hotel will provide you with one. There are also free sunscreen dispensers containing natural minerals designed to help protect the marine life and coral surrounding the hotel. We thought this was such a thoughtful touch. There are no individual tea and coffee sachets in the rooms as part of the hotel’s efforts to reduce single use plastic. Instead there is a little tuck shop where you can help yourself to bottled soft drinks, snacks, tea, coffee and milk and take them back to your room in little jars. It meant we could still enjoy our morning coffee from our room French press on our terrace without compromising the hotel’s sustainability principles. Everything is explained during the welcome tour which we did with Dinesh. He was fantastic, incredibly thorough, knowledgeable and happy to answer all our questions. The boathouse is another huge highlight. There are multiple experiences included for hotel guests including snorkelling around the coral reefs and a glass bottom boat trip. You can also take out kayaks, pedalos, windsurfs and paddleboards. My advice is to book these on your first day. Just visit the boathouse when you arrive and get everything arranged so you don’t miss out. For windsurfing and paddleboarding you’ll need sea shoes so pack them. The lagoon itself is beautiful. The water directly in front of the hotel is shallow, warm and wonderfully calm and it creates an incredible outlook. I’m actually looking at it as I write this review which makes leaving tomorrow even harder. There is also a juice bar on the beach that isn’t included in the all inclusive package but the coconuts and freshly made smoothies are very reasonably priced and can simply be charged to your room and settled at the end of your stay. Definitely worth a visit. The Marine Discovery Centre is another must visit. There is a team of marine biologists based at the hotel and we really enjoyed learning about their research, the local marine environment and the hotel’s sustainability work. It’s wonderful to see a resort putting genuine effort into protecting the environment that makes this place so special. We didn’t have any treatments at the spa but we did visit it and it is absolutely stunning. We also spoke to other guests who had treatments and said they were fantastic so if you have the time it certainly seems worth booking. One of the things we loved most was how relaxed the whole resort felt. The hotel is split into three zones: Local, Laid back and Lively and each has its own personality. Laid back is perfect if you want peace and quiet with quieter pools and beautiful shaded day beds. Local is where you’ll find the fantastic Taba J food carts. Lively is centred around the pool and is where you’ll find more activities and entertainment. There are screens around the resort showing the daily programme so there is always something happening if you want to get involved. Equally nobody bothers you if you’d rather relax. And you never need to worry about getting a sun lounger. There always seemed to be beds available whether around the pools or on the beach as well as some fantastic hammocks. Bars and toilets are also never far away which sounds like a small thing but makes such a difference when you’re spending the day relaxing. There is entertainment around the pool every evening. It might be a solo singer, a band or Mauritian themed drums and dancing. We enjoyed all of it. Benitier also hosts a Mauritian Gala Night celebrating local food, dishes and culture and it was absolutely fantastic. Definitely worth experiencing. And here’s a little tip that we discovered. If you get the chance, find a chair overlooking the pool outside the Wave Bar in the evening. Look up into the canopy of the palm trees and watch for the enormous Mauritian flying foxes. Seeing them flying overhead at night was an incredible sight. There are some stray dogs around the area but they are very well behaved. The hotel has a dog ambassador who helps ensure they have water, are fed and are well cared for. They never bothered us unless we called them over but they were incredibly friendly and it was lovely to see the hotel taking responsibility for their welfare. I’m sure that if you’ve made it this far into my review, Lagoon Attitude has probably made its way onto your shortlist. Our advice? Go ahead and book it. You will not regret it. This hotel has given us one of those holidays where before we’ve even left we’re already talking about coming back. The combination of outstanding food, exceptional service, beautiful surroundings, incredible experiences and a genuine commitment to sustainability makes this place very special. The staff are what really make Lagoon Attitude stand out. From reception to the restaurants, bars, boathouse and everyone working behind the scenes, we have felt welcomed, looked after and genuinely valued throughout our entire eight day stay. We arrived as guests and we’re leaving feeling like we’ve discovered somewhere we’ll want to return to. Thank you Lagoon Attitude for an absolutely unforgettable stay. We cannot recommend you highly enough and we will definitely be back.
