I returned from here just over a week ago, and sadly didn't have the same experience that many others have posted about. I have fed this back to my travel agency and the hotel via the feedback form, and I'm waiting on responses as I write this. My first poor experience was on my day of check-in. In the evening, once it went dark, I had around 20-30 flies crawling up the wall in my toilet, as well as crawling on the floor and dying on the floor. I was aware of the fly situation before I arrived and prepared for it, but this was not a few flies; there were lots. On my way to dinner, I went to reception to report this. I was told that this was normal, and they looked like they were dying anyway, so nothing to worry about; it's just the way it is. I was made to feel as if my complaint wasn't valid, and that I was overreacting. After a long journey to get here, plus being a solo traveller, I didn't have the energy to push further. What I really wanted was someone to listen, acknoweldge my concerns, and to come and remove them; that was all. I went to dinner feeling pretty helpless and alone in a hotel I didn't know yet, in a country I had never been to before. When I returned from dinner, there were even more flies, and they were crawling out from under the door into the sink area. I killed as many as I could with towels, and rolled a towel up at the bottom of the toilet door, as the bathroom is open plan into the bedroom. Throughout the rest of the week, I had issues with poor customer service in the bars and one of the restaurants. In addition to this, there were numerous housekeeping issues, which included a stained duvet and dead flies left for two days before I cleaned them. I did feed back on my second-to-last night about the housekeeping issues when reception called my room. The head of housekeeping came round quickly and offered a deep clean, but at this point I only had two nights left and didn't see the point. They did, in fact, clean more thoroughly the next day, however it wasn't great, and they had clearly opened the patio doors, as I had a number of different moth/mosquitos attached to the white curtains that I had to remove. I know you might be reading this thinking I should have said something, but when you travel sola as a female, it's different. While at no point did I feel unsafe, I did not want to risk putting myself in a vulnerable position being there alone with no backup. And after my first night's experience, I felt I wouldn't get very far. I did, however, try to raise the fly issue again at checkout, as I wanted to feed back how they had made me feel that first night, and how it had set the tone for the rest of my holiday. But again I was met with resistance about the flies: "they're common here", "we all have them in our homes". When I said I'd been keeping the doors closed to prevent more, I was met with "well you can just have your doors closed all the time". Again, the "it's not that bad" without even seeing it. I tried to show a picture and gave up; he wasn't interested. I genuinely feel like raising these issues earlier would have made my holiday more difficult. In balance to this, there were some positives. The outside areas were clean, and the views were lovely. I also enjoyed the food and the drinks were good quality. There was only one member of staff who went out of his way to actually acknowledge me and treat me like a VIP, and that was Veeky, the restaurant manager. Everyone else just left me to it. Finally, I did enjoy the spa and had three massages with Lucy, which were fantastic. I know other people I met there enjoyed their stay, but this was my experience, and it's how I felt. I came home feeling like I hadn't even had a proper break after 8 nights, and this was my first holiday in 2 years. I was so disappointed. I wouldn't return here as a female solo traveller, and honestly, I've stayed in some hostels that had better housekeeping.
Fantastic and amazing journey! 1NS not enough to enjoy fully the hotel activities and leisure. Warm greetings from all staff. Would definitely recommend anyone to experience their holidays here!!!! @abhiday you were absolutely fabulous. Wish you all the best in your future career ahead!
We spent 15 glorious nights here and feel fully relaxed. The facilities and entertainment are excellent. What makes the hotel special are the staff, everyone is friendly, helpful and we really felt welcomed. We can’t name everybody, but we wanted to mention Henna in the wave bar, Suvi for being so friendly and attentive. Reena, Jason and Staff at Kot Nou. Smith, Neehal and chefs at Lemongrass. We went on the sunset cruise, Didier and Jeff made our evening so special with their hospitality - we saw dolphins and enjoyed the rum which made it extra special. We enjoyed days out with Mautourco - South Island, Port Louis and the speed boat island. This was a good balance between exploring and learning about Mauritius and time to chill by the pool or sea. The pool at Coral is a special hideaway which we really enjoyed too. We look forward to returning. Many thanks, Sarah and Llew.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome with their warm hospitality and professionalism. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The facilities were excellent, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. The food was delicious with a great variety of options, and every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure guests had a pleasant experience. I truly appreciated the attention to detail and outstanding customer service. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay. I will definitely be returning in the future!
