LUX* Grand Gaube

We had a wonderful stay at LUX* Grand Gaube. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful and peaceful, but what really made our stay memorable was the kindness and warmth of the staff. There were so many people who took wonderful care of us throughout the week, and while unfortunately we did not get everyone’s names, there are several people we especially wanted to recognize. Romario and Ricardo at Creole Smokehouse were both wonderful and always made us smile. Richi was fantastic both at Bodrum Blue and at breakfast at Palm Court. We unfortunately did not get the names of everyone who looked after us at the adults-only beach, but Veer, Ansh, and Liam were especially kind and attentive. They made our time at the beach feel particularly relaxing and well cared for. Sylvano at Café LUX* was also always so friendly and welcoming. We also really enjoyed the fitness and wellness activities. The instructors who led the classes were excellent, and Bobo made our morning walk particularly enjoyable. The housekeeping staff were consistently thoughtful and kind throughout our stay. The management team was also extremely helpful and understanding. We arrived after a very early flight at around 6 a.m., and the manager recognized how tired we must have been and did everything possible to make us comfortable, which we greatly appreciated. The food was also excellent. There was plenty of fresh fish and a great variety of options throughout the resort, including thoughtful choices for different dietary needs such as vegan and dairy-free options. There were many other staff members who contributed to such a lovely experience whose names we unfortunately did not get. Across the resort, we consistently encountered people who were warm, helpful, and genuinely kind. The staff made an already beautiful property feel especially welcoming, and we are very grateful for the care we received throughout our stay.

Really enjoyed our stay at Lux Grand Gaube... amazing surroundings, great facilities (tennis, kids and teenagers club, watersports, modern gym, cinema etc.), huge rooms, friendly staff, great selection of good quality restaurants... couldn't really fault it. Special thanks to Reedoo and Viresh on the beach and Tisha in the coffee bar - but to be fair, all the staff were super helpful and polite. If you get a chance, get a boat from the West coast to swim with turtles, dolphins, and have lunch on a beach!

Thought it worth sharing a review of our 4th visit to the LUX at Grand Gaube. We first visited in 2015 and have been returning periodically since then. Clientele here has gradually evolved from young couples to middle aged families with young children. Facilities are tailored as such, be warned there isn't anything here for teenagers. Customers are mainly from the UK, France and South Africa. We stayed in a LUX Suite, room 2109 on an all inclusive package; two separate bedrooms with their own bathrooms and a small balcony with a view right over the main beach. Room was phenomenal, loads of space for the whole family and some privacy for the children/teens/young adults. Beds were supremely comfortable, gel mattress topper with goose down pillows and Egyptian cotton bed linen, we slept well each night. Minibar in each room was restocked with drinks and snacks every day, massive thanks to Vijahe for accommodating my requests for extra beer :D Room was also cleaned daily, it did need it as the shower in the main bedroom leaked all over the bathroom floor every time you used it. Again the guys did a brilliant job organising our mess and making the beds every day, so thank you. Thank you to Yosra on reception who checked us in and made our daughter feel really special, and for organising our trip to Isle des Deux Cocos, and for helping us to find one of the special 'Messages in a Bottle' that our daughter used for a Junk Art session with the amazingly patient Ainni. Our daughter loved the experience! Outside of the room, the main pool area is a hub of activity for young families and is where we spent a lot of time. There is no mad rush to get a sunbed, but by 10am they are all taken, so be warned. There are two trained lifeguards, Amit and Keshan, who are both a credit to the LUX and do a fantastic job. All children however are still required to be supervised whilst in the pool. There are some irresponsible parents and 4 out our 14 days involved closing the pool due to *ahem* biological foreign bodies. The hotel need to enforce some sort of pool cleaning fine on repeat offenders, as it isn't fair on the other customers. Pool staff are available to take drinks orders and serve you at your lounger but the bar is right next to the pool. Thank you to Manav for keeping us served with icy cold drinks all day! There is an adults only pool and beach which is very quiet, no rush for a sun lounger here. I thoroughly recommend that childless couples spend their time here - you have your own dedicated cocktail bar and wait staff who are very attentive. It is heaven here compared to the bustle of the main pool. Main sand is a short curved artificial beach with about 100 beds. They are usually also full by 10am. Beach staff will take drinks orders but service is slower than by the pool. Watersports are available but due to the calm nature of the lagoon, it's a case of paddle out and then paddle back in again. Glass bottom boat goes out twice a day, some of the skippers are quite knowledgeable about local flora and fauna, others are not, but worth doing either way if only for a change of scenery. Food - here is my only bugbear. It is generally high quality and plentiful but my main issue is that every menu has 'premium' products which are not part of the all inclusive package! There is also a 'premium' restaurant called Inti. The hotel needs to make up it's mind - either the 'All Inclusive' package covers everything, or you add an 'All Inclusive Premium' package like other resorts do. I've already paid for AIP, I don't want to be checking every item to see if it's included or not. It can't be working because every evening G&T 100 was empty, Inti was empty - possibly time for a rethink? Beach Rouge is run by the super friendly Akshay, always accommodated us and provided fantastic service. It's open every day for lunch and dinner, and has a loose Mediterranean vibe to the menu, but you must book at reception to eat your evening meal there. Bodrum Blue is a Turkish theme and our favourite place to eat. Run by Durgesh, he treated us like royalty and made every meal feel special. Thank you to Dhiksha and Aarshi for such fantastic table service at both lunch and dinner - again, evenings need to be booked at reception. BBs burgers is round by the adults only beach, the family area was closed each time we checked, so we couldn't eat there unfortunately. Lastly to the main restaurant, Palm Court. Here you will have a breakfast and evening buffet. Breakfast is the same vast layout each day, with cereal, cold meats and cheeses, cooked breakfasts, pastries and cakes all available. We were very well looked after in this restaurant by Diren, Ashwin, Purgun and Rishi. In the evenings, the meal selection changes each day but there is no real 'theme' and it is often difficult to put together a cohesive meal from what is available. For example, every day they have roasted meats, but no mashed potato or carrots or green vegetables. Chili con Carne but no rice etc. Every day there is a wok bar available, you can choose your protein, veg and noodles and have it cooked in front of you - very good. The two Punjabi chef brothers (Paji!) also have a fantastic selection of curries and fresh naan bread every evening, the butter chicken was to die for. There are also fresh cooked high quality pizzas and pasta available. Special mentions - Henna who makes the ice cream on site every day and serves at Ici - an absolute delight. Maeva the animator - brilliant fun and loves her job, wickedly funny and made aqua gym a great laugh. Evening entertainment here consists of a couple of conscripted singers and the occasional dance routine. We usually went to bed early and waited for the warbling to stop at 2300hrs. Overall a brilliant experience and we will be back next year, we hope the feedback will be taken on board and all of the special staff we mentioned get the credit they deserve.

An unforgettable experience at LUX* Grand Gaube – a place that truly stays with you. From the moment we arrived, there was something incredibly special about this hotel. Of course, the setting is stunning, but what impressed me most was the atmosphere – the feeling of complete peace and being able to simply forget everything around you. The adult-only area and its pool became one of my absolute favourite places. Surrounded by beautiful tropical nature, with birds singing in the trees and the sound of the ocean in the background, there were moments when everything else simply disappeared. No stress, no thoughts about everyday life – you were just there, completely present in the moment. It is difficult to put this feeling into words, but it was something truly unique and incredibly special. The service throughout our stay was equally outstanding. A very special thank you to Reedoo and his beach team, who looked after us with such warmth and attention every single day. They somehow managed to be there whenever you needed something while still preserving that wonderful feeling of peace and privacy. Another highlight was Bodrum Blue Restaurant. Rishi and Freddy made every visit feel special with their kindness, attentiveness and genuine hospitality. You could feel that making guests happy was not simply part of their job – it came naturally. And then there is the food. Navid and his kitchen team deserve a very special mention. Having had the opportunity to dine at several Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe, I can honestly say that the cuisine we experienced here was at least Michelin level. In fact, some of the dishes surpassed experiences I have had at Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe. Every dish showed incredible quality, creativity and attention to detail – a truly exceptional culinary experience that we looked forward to every single day. LUX* Grand Gaube is undoubtedly a beautiful resort, but what makes it unforgettable is the combination of nature, tranquillity, exceptional food and, above all, its people. There are hotels you enjoy, hotels you remember – and then there are places that make you feel something. LUX Grand Gaube was one of those places.* Thank you to everyone who made our stay so unforgettable. We will definitely be back.

It’s not only the breathtakingly beautiful location that makes this place so special – it’s the wonderful staff and the people who truly made our stay unforgettable. A few of the amazing team members deserve a special mention: Reedoo and his beach team took exceptional care of us from the beginning to the very end of each day. Always attentive, welcoming and one step ahead, they made sure we had the most wonderful and relaxing time at the beach. Thank you for making every day so special!
