Tamassa Bel Ombre, Mauritius

Welcome to our family review! We spent 11 wonderful days at the Tamassa Resort during August 2026…… Firstly, the resorts location is excellent. It’s nicely positioned on the south coast of the island, the Tamassa Resort is beautifully nestled in the Bel Ombré region hidden amongst stunning scenery. The overarching atmosphere was superb, it was very relaxed and inviting and perfect for families, couples, and larger groups alike. As for the all-important accommodation, we had a “family suite” which had a large double bed, a large modern bathroom with Amazon shower, and a large corner bath. Also, the bed mattresses were superb and were very comfortable! The room also had a second bedroom with a comfortable bunk-bed and there was a second toilet which was very handy for our family. We had a good size balcony with a perfect pool view and the beach was in sight as well. The room service was sharp, with daily room visits, never-ending fresh towels, a FREE stocked mini-bar inclusive alcohol (filled daily), and the standard of cleaning and pest control (mini-ants and mosquitos) was very good indeed. Overall, the room was great and ample for our busy family needs. The Tamassa Resort is quite clever in that EVERY room on the complex has a form of pool and beach view which we found really cool. The main restaurant is very good with a great breakfast service, excellent lunch, and really nice evening dinner buffets. Mondays was a “Mauritian theme night” and Tuesdays were an “Italian theme night”. The staff were awesome and really friendly and helpful without fail and went out of their way to look after us greeting us everywhere we went on the resort! Please be aware, if anyone has a birthday whilst in the resort, the staff will soon know and proceed to serenade you over dinner with a cake with a firework type candle in it plus, local music, and singing! You have been warned! 🥳 The beach restaurant is excellent and needs a simple booking 24 hours in advance. If you are “All-Inclusive” you can dine at the beach restaurant every night if you so wish! The location of the restaurant is knock-out and the service and food is simply “next level dining” and certainly a MUST try event (we went 6 times over the 11 days we were there trying both the lunch and excellent dinner menus 🫢). Also, I must mention the burger van which is a family favourite as well! You need to try this as the food is delicious! The 3 pools are massive and well maintained and there were ample beach loungers available wherever we wandered at any time of the day which was SO refreshing! The evening entertainment was good with live singing, varying music, and dancing covering traditional customs and the more modern “DJ” sessions which was pretty good as well. In addition, evening entertainment did not affect our room time at all. The facilities are numerous with the nice pools, direct beach access, 2 restaurants, tennis courts, table tennis, billiards, a good little gym, a shop, and a brilliant “Wellness Club” (extra costs involved). The resorts grounds were manicured and superbly maintained at all times. Everything was clean, tidy, professional and presentable. Our “TOP 3 likes” for the Tamassa Resort are: 1. The brilliant staff and the great service. 2. The nice pools and beautiful beach inclusive FREE resort water-sports(!) 3. The food, drink and animation / entertainment. Our “3 Improvement points” are: 1. Please include the Jacuzzi in the “Wellness Package” and not charge extra for use! 2. “All-Inclusive” persons should have a wrist-band enabling swifter access to food, bar drinks, and amenities (Ice Cream!). 3: A beach bar is definitely needed as it is a long walk to get drinks when you are on the resorts beach and fancy a cocktail! In essence, overall, we are highly complimentary and our critique is minimal! Our sincere thanks go to Darshina and her team for really making us feel welcome and special for the duration of our stay! 🫶❤️🫶❤️🫶 So, was this value for money? Yes - 100%. Would we visit the Tamassa Resort again? Yes - 100%. Finally, do we recommend it? Yes - 100%. ☀️🥳☀️🥳☀️ Having discussed all the above as a family, we rate it a strong 7.5 from 10. Memorable day pass What a fantastic experince at Tamassa resort!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Everything was perfect from start to finish. The warm welcome from the reception team,immedaitely made us feel comfortable. Special appreciation to Yuvna for her kindness and outstanding hospitality. Our time at the bar was also amazing. Many thanks to Vinod the bar manager,and devesh for looking after us so well. Every cocktail and drink was beautifully prepared. Thank you to Cloe,Ayush,Vineet,Dhruv and Melison for making the experince even better. The restaurant experince was equally impressive. Pravesh and Altaaf went above and beyond by arranging a lovely birthday surprise for my sister in law and brother in law,a very special memory for our family. Thank you to chef Edhino,chef Suraj,chek Kuna and the entire team for the excellent buffet and delicious food. The buger truck was another highlight🍔 the burger was something different and really tasty. A big thank you to Babita for preparing it with so much care and passion. Wonderful Stay at Tamassa Resort From start to finish, our experience at Tamassa Resort was absolutely excellent! 🌴✨ A big thank you to the entire reception team for being so welcoming and making us feel at home. A special highlight goes to Yuvna for the warm welcome and great service. 🍹 Bar Team: A huge thank you to Vinod, the Bar Manager, and Devesh, who took such great care of us. All the drinks and cocktails were excellent! Special thanks as well to Cloe, Ayush, Vineet, Dhruv and Melison for their amazing service and hospitality. 🍽️ Restaurant Team: A very special thank you to Pravesh and Altaaf for organizing such a lovely birthday surprise for my uncle. It was a beautiful gesture and truly appreciated. Many thanks to Chef Edhino, Chef Suraj, Chef Kunal and the entire kitchen team. The buffet was delicious, with a great variety of food. 🍔 And a special mention to the Burger Truck! The burger was truly unique and delicious. A day spend at tamassa with all our friends it was very amazing To start with the welcoming at the reception it was very nice and also the arrival cocktail at the reception was very unique At the main bar where we start our firts drink the bar team was very welcoming and friendly it was very nice and a big thanks to miss cloe at the bar who take very care of us also the guys behinde the bar kavish who made excellent cocktail , the bar manager vinod who was very attentive with us and also his a big thank to Akilesh who was very friendly The food at the buffet was delicious also thx to all the chef who is making some delicious food.. We will be back again.

Had a wonderful experience at Tamassa Hotel. The hotel is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the staff namely Cloe, Vinod the manager Melison and Kavish the barmen, were very welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious, with a good variety of choices, and the service was excellent. The pools and beach area were clean and enjoyable, making it a perfect place to relax and spend quality time with friends. Everything was well organised, and the overall experience was worth it.
