Akumal Bay Resort

We had an amazing honeymoon experience here. The staff and amenities are amazing. Everyone was so kind and welcoming from the moment we arrived. I have food allergies so I really appreciated they took them seriously and kept me safe. The rooms are nicely renovated and really great quality. When we booked they offered free upgrade when available if you book more then 5 days which we were able to get moved from the basic option to the penthouse which was super nice. Rokm was very nice and clean. The new gym is one of the nicest and most complete gym I’ve ever used. The spa that is about to open looks amazing. The food and service were very good at every restaurant. The service was especially amazing at the Kooban, Alux, and Nuvala. We loved the low noise and lots of nature everywhere. We saw around 5 sea turtles laying eggs on the beach at night during our stay which was amazing to see. The report location is near the right amount of activities without being overly touristy atmosphere. We got to snorkel with the sea turtles and fish. We also went to Cancun to swim with the whale sharks which was so fun. The excursion office was really helpful in booking this. Overall great value and experience that we will think about for decades to come. Thank you to the staff and especially Alan.

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon, and it was nothing short of amazing! The staff was always warm and friendly and went above and beyond to pamper us. They upgraded our room to the penthouse, and provided amazing honeymoon gifts along the way like flowers, rose petals at dinner, and wine & champagne at our room. Alan (pictured) specifically was always top notch with his hospitality & constantly checked for new ways to serve us. We were blown away with his kindness! The views were spectacular, and you are surrounded by nature the whole time. It felt like a breath of fresh air. The workout equipment and amenities were always clean and well taken care of. Best workout room I’ve ever seen! The noise level was surprisingly low with it being a family atmosphere. There are great spaces for music and fun nights. Great value and great location. We wanted somewhere away from the loud Cancún atmosphere- this is just the right spot.

This was our third visit, and we loved it just as much as the first time. Even during the low season, the place still has everything that makes it special — it’s peaceful, clean, calm, and has a very relaxing atmosphere. One of the best parts of this trip was taking advantage of their new 2X1 promotion. I was able to book future visits through 2029, a couple of times each year, with today’s rates locked in for those future stays. For me, it was a fantastic deal and a great way to plan ahead- thank you Emanuele. Above all, the staff makes the experience truly special. The service, the atmosphere, and the entire place keep bringing me back. Highly recommended — looking forward to many more visits!

The hotel was absolutely amazing, and we would come back here without hesitation. The service was perfect, and every member of the staff was incredibly attentive and welcoming. We would especially like to thank Alan. He was exceptionally accommodating, kind, and always made us feel welcome. Our trip to Akumal Bay Beach & Wellness Resort was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. We came home with so much more. The resort itself is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable, the food is excellent, and the location is simply breathtaking. Even with the seasonal sargassum, the staff worked incredibly hard every day to keep the beach as enjoyable as possible. But what truly made this place unforgettable was the people. During our stay, we discovered the kindness, generosity and warmth of the entire team. Every "Hola", every smile and every conversation felt genuine. One evening my husband became ill with what turned out to be a painful ear infection. We had to leave dinner early. The team noticed immediately. They packed our dessert to take away, surprised us with fresh mango sprinkled with Tajín, gave us a bottle of Tajín because they remembered how much we loved it, and comforted us with such kindness that it brought tears to my eyes. When we returned to our room, it had been decorated with rose petals for my birthday. Throughout the week, we learned about the sea turtles, watched the staff carefully protecting the environment, saw them collecting plastic from the beach, met wonderful local families, and felt welcomed as if we belonged there. As a teacher from Canada, I spend my days trying to make others feel seen and valued. This week, your team made us feel that way. Thank you to Araceli, Valeria, Ricardo, Joel, Cristhian, Chef Eduardo, and everyone at The Grill for your extraordinary kindness. We arrived as guests. We left feeling like friends. Mexico has found a permanent place in our hearts, and Akumal Bay will always feel like home. We'll be back.
