Riu Tequila

I somehow didn't realize this place wasn't on the beach until after I booked it. but, it wasn't too bad. It was a few minutes walk to the beach. Everything else was great. The food was more than adequate and the entertainment team was excellent. We would go back if it was on the beach. However, it was less expensive than ones on the beach, so that was a plus and made up for it. One cool thing being off int he jungle was the wildlfe. There were tons of agoutis and coatis.

Great hotel. Hot in June, just a quick shower here and there but they didn’t last long. Still got a great tan. The hotel provides amazing food and great staff friendliness. Amazing bar service, which a great selection of alcohol. Rooms were clean and tidy. The smoking rules in Mexico is a bit of a nightmare but not hotels fault. Would return

We had an absolutely excellent stay at the RIU Hotel Tequila. The staff were incredible and the entire team work so hard and are always happy. The food was great with plenty of variety and choices available at every meal. Our room was plenty big enough, and the shower was absolutely amazing. The hotel surroundings are beautiful and the resident coatis are such fun characters to watch! The beach is only a short walk away or you can catch the buggy. We loved every minute of our stay.

Excellent 5 star hotel, all staff are friendly and welcoming nothing is too much trouble, being able to use the RUI Yucitan and the other adjacent RUI hotel was a bonus as there was plenty of space around there pools and sunbeds on the beach, the food was presented beautifully and the quality was excellent, the staff in the hotel were amazing, always smiling and very helpful, the four special restaurants were a nice alternative to the main restaurant, and staff were brilliant Polo deserves a special mention for helping us find a place for a large family, we have stayed in RUI Hotels previously but this one is top of the list, thank you RUI for an excellent holiday.

Had a great 11 nights at the RIU TEQUILA rooms were great and we loved the local wildlife.The food in the buffet restaurant was fantastic and the breakfast was as good as I have had anywhere however the alacarte restaurants were disappointing especially the Bamboo restaurant the starters were great but the mains were awful especially the curry the meat was black and hard as though it had been reheated over and over again after that we stayed with the buffet.Another let down was the beer,I didn't like it and there was no alternative,the wine and cocktails were lovely though.The staff were great and couldn't do enough for you and were really friendly.The beach was a bit of a let down with all the seaweed but we understand there's nothing they could do about it and it's only at certain times of the year therefore we wouldn't choose the beginning of August if we come again, All in all we really enjoyed our stay and Playacar is beautiful and it was great having the benefit of using the other 2 hotels in the all-inclusive package thanks Keith
