The Fives Beach All Senses Inclusive

We stayed July 16th until today. We booked with Tui all inclusive and let me tell you it was one of the best all inclusive hotels in Mexico we have ever been to. Previously been to Dreams and a few different Riu hotels in Mexico. The staff here are amazing, they would literally do anything for you. They have an ice cream and smoothie shop and many restaurants, including a buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner. I WhatsApp messaged my ambassador a few times during our stay regarding help with various trips and they replied immediately. The wildlife was so interesting, every day something new to see and interact with. This hotel is perfect!

We went for our 4th time to The Fives and it was our best trip to date. First, we are Prestige Members and used Emerald benefits to stay once again with our family in a 3 bedroom penthouse suite. The rooftop jacuzzi got used at night by the “kids”. Our family’s ages ranged from 20’s to 70’s. One in our party has serious food allergies. I CANNOT say enough about how serious they take food allergies! We met with a chef within 1/2 an hour of arrival. We also met Ricardo right away at Lizzards (a lunch favorite) who assured that we would be taken care of. Ricardo went above and beyond to make sure every eatery knew of the allergies during our entire stay. They even had food prepared ahead of our reservations that complied with the restricted diet. Members for the last 8 years, we have had MANY butlers. This time we were assigned Andrea and Veronica. Andrea took the lead and was by far the BEST butler/ambassador we have EVER had. She assisted with a few minor issues immediately and treated us like we were her top priority. She never once tried to push us to do anything and offered suggestions of pools or events we might enjoy. She was never wrong and we enjoyed the resort even more this time, if that is possible. I recommend The Fives for everything it has to offer; beach, jungle, wildlife, and if you are open to it, the people that want to make your stay exceptional.

We came with our 3 children (ages 11, 7, & 3). We had a 2bedroom unit and it was HUGE and very nice. They offer a full kitchen but do not supply plates, utensils, cooking equipment, etc. We did not plan to cook but found that odd. Rooms were clean and comfortable with daily housekeeping. The pools are super warm which was a bummer on the hot/humid days but we enjoyed the swim up bars and music. Room service is horrible. The food was always cold and seemed like day old/leftover food. The options & portions were minimal and it was all served in to go containers. Not what I’d expect for room service from such a nice/expensive resort. The restaurants on the other hand were delicious. We ate at the Italian, Thai, Sushi, Buffet, and the burger & pizza places (on the beach). The buffet was what you’d expect from a buffet (just mediocre). The beach area was nice. Plenty of chairs and rental cabana beds. The ocean in July had lots of sargassum seaweed so it wasn’t the beautiful turquoise you’d expect in Cancun area but the resort cleaned the sand area daily which was nice. Overall it was a very pretty resort with nice staff. I do not feel like I would return with my family unless I planned to do several excursions or come during a different season without sargassum, as the pool became repetitive for 7 days.

We've just got back from an amazing stay at the Fives - I'm surprised to see low reviews as everyone we met was having a great time and loved the hotel and their stay. We had a free upgrade from a double deluxe room to a one bedroom suite. I will say that the pull out sofa bed was not very comfortable but apart from that, the room was lovely, having two balconies and plenty of space. We found the food to be really good with a variety of a la carte restaurants you can opt for. We never had to wait for longer than 50 mins (four of us) and I liked the fact they take your number and then whatsapp you when the table is ready. This means you can go and enjoy the entertainment, have a drink and then head over when it's ready rather than standing around in a long queue. The burgers and the pizzas available by the beach are so good - I would definitely recommend them! On the AI package, named alcohol brands are included and the staff at various bars can make you any cocktail you want. The kids loved the frozen non alcoholic daquiris which help cool you down in the heat and there is a brilliant ice cream shop also included in the AI package which serves delicious flavours. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and incredibly maintained with wildlife everywhere. We saw the spider monkeys, coaties, bats, wild raccoons and iguanas with one joining my daughter on her sunbed! But the most wonderful thing about the hotel are the staff - each and everyone were so professional, friendly and willing to go above and beyond. We were assigned an ambassador who will whatsapp you to check in on you and offer any help you might need (we were on an AI package but nothing special beyond this so assume everyone gets this service?). This meant we didn't have to wait around to see a rep or go to concierge/reception to ask for anything. We could simply message him any questions or pop into the office if needed. Pablo was so helpful and called various people on our behalf when I had difficulties with contact lenses and then to look at information for a trip we were looking to book. Jesus on reception was also incredibly helpful when our flight was delayed for 20 hours and we needed to book another night - advising us on the best ways to do this and arranging a lovely room for us. I feel however that singling out individual members of staff for their help is a disservice to everyone else who collectively made our stay so amazing - the hotel should be extremely proud of all the teams they have. I do think they could do with putting out more seating around the plaza for the evening entertainment as there are often times when this is limited if you come out after a meal. And they could definitely do with more sunbeds around the various pools and to enforce the 'no towel reservation' policy. As for the beach, it's really lovely BUT at this time of year, you have to go with eyes wide open and be aware that sargassum (the seaweed) is extremely bad this time of year and almost impossible to manage by the hotels. It comes relentlessly and means an inability to access the sea. It was clear two days so we enjoyed the sea then which was lovely and warm. If you want guaranteed daily beach and swimming access, do not come to this part of Mexico at this time of year. I told my children that the beach would likely be out of bounds so managed their expectations and it was also why we picked The Fives knowing how large the resort was so that no beach wouldn't be an issue. You can't complain about what nature does and it's not the fault of the hotel. Doing snorkelling trips means you can get away from the seaweed and enjoy the crystal clear blue/green sea which is stunning. All in all, it was an amazing holiday - trips available are incredible (we swam with whalesharks, visited Chichen Itza, had stingrays and nurse sharks swim around our legs, swam in underground rivers and jumped into cenotes via rope swings). Geographically Mexico is stunning and has such unique sites and to come back to The Fives after a long day out was perfect. We would absolutely recommend this hotel!

What an amazing hotel. Actually less a hotel and more of a village. So many a la carte restaurants we only ate dinner in the buffet once. The staff are fantastic. Always smiling and so happy to help. There's a pool for every taste. Some are warmer than a bath as they are in full sun all day, others are shady and cooler. The seaweed is an issue but when there are so many pools you dont miss not swimming in the sea. Yes, members can book restaurants while those on a package deal are first come first served but we've only been on the wait lost a few times and each time they WhatsApp when your table is ready so you can get a drink while you wait. Special shout out to Benjamin et al at the dive school for taking us out in dives. 2 dives done a day and back in time for lunch. And such an amazing selection of wildlife, coati, iguana, monkeys, mexican porcupine and bats. Really, everyone has been so friendly we would not hesitate to recommend Fives at the Beach.
