Bahia Principe Escape Ambar

This hotel is very nice , however o have a few things I saw and wasn’t to found of. The bathroom needs a bit of an upgrade . The inside shower looks old and needs to be painted and the hardware needs to be upgraded . We were suppose to get a Happy Anniversary banner along with some sweets which we never got and a lady ( cant remember her name) even took our room number down never showed so that was disappointing . The floors outside of the lobby area needs to be changed it rained really hard one night and the ground was so slippery I felt like I was skating on ice . The same concrete block used at the sports bar should be used outside the lobby. Also the transportation from one hotel to another is very slow . Felt like I was at an actual bus stop . Limbo restaurant the young lady was nice enough to take us but when we got there that place was so hot no AC? A hotel as big as that should have just like the main dining area . Speaking of dining area we gravitated to our waiter Miguel he was excellent , so everytime we saw him we went straight to him , however they was another waiter whose name I will not mention and because we didn’t go to him he did a hand gesture like yea whatever and that I am not a fan of . I spend my money there and I did not come for that type of behavior . Overall we had a great experience.

Our rooms were spotless and cleaned every day, the mini bar was stocked daily and anything we need was no trouble with the staff. Food was great and there was plenty of choice We went for three weeks and it was great value for our money, we met a number of people who return on a regular basis and we are already planning to return next year

First off I have been to many all inclusive resorts and Europe (Mexico, Cuba, Cruises, Jamaica, etc). We have gone back to Ambar three years in a row and just LOVE IT!!! Three years ago we booked Ambar but now we book Aquamarine and bring US to upgrade to Ambar when we arrive----cheaper this way. The beach has been horrible the past two years-----smells awful and is disgusting. They do their best to clean it---BUT if you walk 10-15 minutes to the left the beach is beautiful----blue and no seaweed! Near Occidental and Hard Rock. We have been to this Bahia now three years in a row, and I must say Ambar is my favourite. I loved how there are 5 resorts all connected. I like to keep busy so I enjoyed walking around and checking out the pools, restaurants, bars at all the different resorts. I loved Esmerelda--their beach bar had the friendliest bartenders...we would walk all the way there to see them. Josury, Andi, Orlando, Luisa, Mariennis, and Madeline were amazing--always went out of their way to serve us. They even cut a coconut we found on the beach :) They would make natural drinks for us and treat us like royalty. Esmeralda also has amazing sweet potato fries and ice cream cones! The best lunch buffet was near the beach in between Ambar and Esmerelda. Favourite things about Ambar---the restaurants, the coffee shop, guest services Antonio, Juan, Orlando (manager), coffee coffee Nono, going for breakfast in the main buffet, the smoothie girl Fiordaliza, Miguel making the omelettes, our room and bed is so comfortable, inflatable on Sunday in the pool, making hats around the pool! The service is amazing and I love to walk to all the resorts to see the shows and try their restaurants. I joined both facebook groups as I am very particular and have high expectations. I was very happy I got the room I wanted. Block 67 and 60 are my favourite. I would continue to come here because we know so many of the workers. Pool Bartender –Ali is amazing! Meat Restaurant– Jesus works his butt off Esmerelda--Luisa works so hard running the bar and the beach bar Breakfast Buffet---Nono is the coffee man, Ramon is good too! Guest Services --Antonio, Juan, will take care of any issues immediately! Front Desk –Ambiorix got us the room we wanted! Ambar is mostly older people—there really is not a lot of music playing throughout the day. Shows are not good here, but that is why it is good to walk to all the other resorts and see what is going on there. The dinner buffet is nothing special—-We would eat at the a la cartes then go to the buffet every night. Esmerelda has a nice dinner buffet —-we got in trouble for going BUT they have everything you could ask for there! We should be allowed to use their buffet. It was way better! Overall, if you can handle the seaweed and lots of walking you will love this resort---there are golf carts too for those who don't want to walk!

Amazing hotel. I would recommend this hotel to everybody, the food was amazing, the staff were friendly and all round the resort was fab. The à la carte restaurants were the highlight of our trip, as we were able to try new food and eat something different each night. A special mention to the staff at limbo, these were amazing and did the best drinks! I was cautious coming as some of the reviews but from our experience, I can’t fault anything about this place. Would 100% come back!

When we arrived went straight to book al a carte restaurant and were told most of them were already booked so we had to settle for ones we did not really want to eat at. The buffet was basically the same every day except for a change in meat. Our room had broken shampoo dispensers that didn't work and we had to report them twice before someone came the day before we were leaving. One day the swim up bar at the pool ran out of alcohol I was drinking by lunchtime. The entertainment around the pool was boring, only music when they were doing aerobics and the nighttime entertainment consisted of 1 live show and rest of the nights was music in the lobby.
