I arrived at Bahia Principe all inclusive resort on June 26, 2026 with a group of about 100 people. I was told before i arrived that i had a room already reserved. After persistence at the front desk, i realized that i didn't have a room available. I feel like i was thrown into a room at the last minute and was very disappointed from day one. The room was very musky, and everything in the bathroom looked very dirty. I took pictures of the fixtures that looked like they haven't been cleaned in a long time. The walls and the floor was dirty. Some blackish color was around the shower and around the floor, especially around the toilet. The walls were cracking apart. You can see on the pics. We were there an hour trying to figure out how to change rooms before unpacking. I used the restroom and it wasn't a surprise that the toilet was backed up (which explains the stains on the floor). The sheets on the bed were disgusting. Should have been white, but were more of a tan color. Smelled like i was inside of a football locker room. I called the desk to complain about the condition and didn't get any help. I had to call twice to get someone to come and fix the toilet. He seemed very annoyed because he was sent to fix the problem. That didn't help how we were feeling. I was finally told that i would have to wait until the next day to change rooms. I refused to sleep in a disgusting dirty room when i paid so much money to get there. I went to the desk a few times until someone finally helped me and put us in another building. We were so far away from my group of 6, and begged to be moved closer together for safety reasons. They put us in a premium room with members, and i was very satisfied. Not sure why anyone would be put in the room we had in the beginning anyways. The beach area was very disappointing as well. Luckily i had done some research about all of the seaweed coming up on the beach, but i didn't expect what i saw. Trucks were on the beach scooping up seaweed, like snow trucks scooping up snow in the winter. That's how bad it was. We were ran out of so many areas, not knowing they were off limits. Most resorts i have been to in the past, we could access their clubs, restaurants and beach area. The night life was pretty much non-existent. There was one club a lot of teens went to at night, but not really anything for people over 40 to attend. By 10:00-11:00, it was a ghost town. The shows were pretty good. but once they ended, there wasn't much to do. There was pretty much one restaurant to eat fries, a hotdog, and other small snacks, but no where to get food after 10:00. We basically walked around looking for something to do. Drinks were very watered down, so nothing to brag about. The bartenders were not friendly at all and acted like they didn't want to be bothered. My friend asked for a sprite, and he was very rude. Pool area was nice, but you have to get there early if you want a seat with shade. I went at 9:00 am and no luck. Overall, i had a good time seeing my old friends, sitting around talking and laughing. Front desk crew. Unfortunately, i can't remember the one lady that actually had awesome customer service. She gave me a hard time for coming there about the room, but i enjoyed the banter with her. Jaycol was awesome and probably made more money on tips than anyone else we encountered. We really appreciated his attitude and keeping us laughing. I have never gone on vacation and wanted to leave the first day i arrived.
Just arrived home from a 2 week stay, Check in was efficient we checked in via the Bahia App 10 days before arrival much easier and saves time on arrival, book your resturant asap as we were only able to book 3. Wrist bands for rooms so no key cards which was great, welcome drink on arrival. Rooms we had a renovated room villa 9, very clean, spacious hair dryer shampoo contioner soap and body wash, frresh towels beds very comfortable, cleaned daily AC brilliant, mini fridge not stocked daily with pop and beers but water was left (i left tip weekly) coffee machine in the room, we had 2 problems with our toilet 1 flooded the room (clean water) but this was dealt with urgently. Pool, we stayed around the main pool, pool cleaned daily, enough sun beds even after 11am, pool towels available. Pool bar good but as its so busy with people sitting there hard to get served, Robinson the pool waiter was great. Beach, yes a lot of sea weed attempts to clear it daily but it was just too much, lots of sun beds. Food we felt no matter what time you visit the food is luke warm at best, we were normally first at the buffet although good choices and you can make a meal they need to sort the hot plates out. As mentioned above we were only able to book limited resturants due to no availbilty the Normad is a must. Entertainment, around the pool, schedules at night good. Karaoke bar was great, lobby bar the best service and for drinks. We have had a good time some staff are more plesant than others but when your dealing with that many people i feel it can take an affect on you, it deserves 3.5 review but can't click halves. The place is hugh very clean, tidy, can always get a buggy, just need to sort the food out. Shop prices are are mega some shops have no prices at all so charge what they feel. Airport transfer around 40 mins. Definitely visit Saona Island it was stunning 😍, If you like snacks crisps etc bring them with you 💰, take dollas not pesos, tip where you can everyone works mega hard, had a lovely break Dominican is beautiful just a little let down by the food heat but everything else was spot on xx
The only positive feedback is they have nice facilities, otherwise really bad experience. The staff is not friendly, very limited variety of food and fruits, limited nights to take advantage of the à la carte restaurants (which is not disclosed at the time of booking and the restaurants are not good either), there are no smoking designated areas, therefore people can smoke at the pool next to your kids. Do not recommend this hotel
Amazing experience with our group of 28! Beautiful resort. great food, tons of entertainment throughout the day and in the evenings. Carts always stopped to pick us up. Tons of choices at the buffet even for picky eaters, pescatarians and vegans in our group. Staff always went above and beyond for us!
Horrible resort with horrible customer service. The resort as a whole is a dump and they provide no services as described. If booking mistake they are horrible in making adjustment or alterations.
