Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa

The view from our room was amazing, the weather was near perfect, and the grounds were clean. The star of the show was our butler, Esterbin (Steven). He was always extremely friendly, organized, and incredibly responsive. A huge asset to the property.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wonderful Stay at Dreams Playa Esmeralda We had a wonderful stay at Dreams Playa Esmeralda in Miches, Dominican Republic. The resort is beautiful, the beach is breathtaking, and overall we really enjoyed our experience. The food was good, although there are a few areas where we feel it could be improved. What truly makes this resort special, however, is the people who work there. Their kindness, attention, and genuine hospitality made our vacation memorable. A special thank you to Joel, our butler, for always being attentive and helpful. At Capers, Supervisor Robert Peguero and Emmanuel Gomez our server , provided exceptional service. Emmanuel recommended the lobster with yuca purée and went out of his way to make sure we could enjoy it. It was delicious and greatly appreciated. We also want to recognize the wonderful supervisor at El Patio, I forgot her name but she was really attentive to my 1 year old baby needs while in the restaurant. Moana with her amazing energy, Mini Baby, our wonderful housekeeper Yolanda and the entire World Café breakfast team. There may be a few areas that can improve, particularly with some of the food, the room can use more storage especially while traveling with a baby. Also, the availability of activities for toddlers. A dedicated playground or play area for younger children would be a great addition. There were days when we wanted to keep our little one (1 year old) entertained with something other than the pool or the beach, and having a safe space where toddlers could play, explore, and burn off some energy would make the resort even more family-friendly. But the incredible staff is what makes Dreams Playa Esmeralda truly special. They turned a great vacation into a very special one for us, and that is what we will remember the most. 🇩🇴

In all of our travels, we have rarely encountered someone who demonstrates the level of professionalism, dedication, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality that Juan Carlos consistently demonstrated throughout our entire stay. Juan Carlos didn’t simply perform his duties as a butler—he anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel like VIP guests. He personally communicated with bartenders and waitstaff throughout the resort to ensure we were immediately taken care of whenever we arrived at a restaurant or bar. We were consistently greeted by name, and it was obvious that Juan Carlos had gone out of his way to make sure our family received exceptional service wherever we went. He also took personal responsibility for making sure our accommodations were always in perfect order. He made sure our room remained clean and fully functional and paid particular attention to keeping our swim-out pool pristine. He continually checked that everything was working properly and that our expectations were being met. What truly amazed us was his ability to make things happen. Juan Carlos arranged restaurant reservations for us even when there was no apparent availability, and he was able to secure reservations at the times we specifically wanted. His resourcefulness, persistence, and dedication to making our experience exceptional went far beyond what we expected. He also made sure our entire family—including our children—was able to enjoy everything the resort had to offer. Juan Carlos consistently kept us informed about entertainment, activities, and events so that we never missed opportunities to create wonderful family memories. Most importantly, Juan Carlos genuinely looked after our family’s well-being. He reminded us to use sunscreen and bug spray and made sure we were safe and comfortable throughout our stay. His concern for our family felt sincere and personal. He was always available, always responsive, and always making sure everything was in order. What impressed us most was that Juan Carlos never made us feel like a task on his schedule. He made us feel like people he genuinely cared about. His kindness, respect, professionalism, and attention to even the smallest details made an extraordinary difference in our vacation. We strongly believe that Juan Carlos Santana deserves special recognition from resort management. Employees who consistently demonstrate this level of commitment, initiative, professionalism, and genuine care are incredibly valuable to an organization. Juan Carlos is not simply providing good customer service—he is creating loyal guests, unforgettable experiences, and the kind of memories that make families want to return to the resort. If management is looking for an example of what exceptional butler service should look like, Juan Carlos Santana is that example. His performance reflects extremely well on Dreams Playa Esmeralda and the entire resort team.
