Grand Bavaro Princess

I have been visiting this hotel for the last 16 years. Even before its renovation, and I am always super pleased with my vacations there. I was there last October with a friend and just got back last week from spending a wonderful time with my son, who used to come often before he started college and now returns as a young adult. I have visited other hotels but continue to favor staying here. Room wsd nice, good air condition and clean. Javier was our butler; he made our dining accommodations/reservations flawless. Accommodated to every request. Everybody was very attentive at the different bars but needed to highlight Melvin and Ismael from the Larimar Bar (Pool Bar), I rate their service a 20 of 10. Licelot attended us at the Lobby bar. She ensured our experience was also flawless. The food has always been amazing, and we visited all the specialty restaurants which if you decide to try this hotel, is a must do. El Pescador, Tanuki, El Gaucho, SoHo, Tartufo, PBG, etc. The breakfast and lunch buffets were also incredible, and so were the servers. The kindness, friendliness and their eagerness to serve really shows. Now, the icing on the cake, the animation group. Cristobal, Camacho, Juan, Yesenia, Luis, Ricky, y Aniflor, Sorry if I forgot somebody), made our days filled with activities and fun. Their dedication to ensuring people enjoy is contagious. Absolutely love them. The competitions, the Pool Foam party, the White Beach Party, all the different artists’ tributes, and their party set-ups were so much fun. The now animation assistant manager Ana Teresa recognized and came running to hug my son which participated in many of their shows as a kid/teen. She was then part of the active animation group team, so she taught him their Princess dance, which he hadn’t forgotten. This hotel is a different concept to many others, as it has an Eco park with many species of birds to walk through. It is huge, golf carts drive you everywhere and Peacocks walk between the buildings giving a sense of nature contact. We are planning our next visit.

We traveled August 16-23 2026, and we truly enjoyed our stay. The resort is large, there are carts that come around and drive guests to various areas of the resort. We did find some shortcuts from our platinum area building (53) through the ecological pathways hosting some cute wildlife which made our walks to the lobby quick. If you have any mobility issues ask to be on the 1st floor the upper level was exhausting after a whole week of stairs multiple times per day (I hate admitting that considering the cleaners HAUL everything upstairs by hand/no elevators - all supplies towels etc - they work so HARD) The resort works hard to get rid of seaweed (its seaweed season and we are very aware this would be present on our stay so its a plus that they were able to keep it so clean). Our platinum room was wonderful and big and spacious for us and our son. The singing waiter/host at Chopin was our most memorable worker, not only did he sing a vast variety of songs, he made some very realistic bird chirps, he was kind, quick to serve, and very easy to talk to. Our son always asked are we going back to the singing buffet. The ground are clean and well kept, and workers are working hard. Our room was very clean and cleaning staff kept it very clean. Nights were lively with events and discos, and the pools were amazing and spacious as were the bars. We visited many restaurants with platinum status and I find it was VERY worth the upgrade. Until Friday/Saturday night I couldn't hear the nightlife but on those days it was a little bit louder - it doesnt bother us but could annoy some. PBG/Foccacia and Italian were our favorite. The resort as a whole is beautiful - the friendliest staff saying hello are the cleaning ladies even when just crossing paths, if you ask how theyre doing their answer is always "Excellente!". This was my first trip to the DR and it really exceeded my expectations, we return to a different resort in December so Im curious how the two will compare in interactions/property and amenities. Id be lying if I said everything was perfect, the AC was quite loud and kept the main bedroom very cool but I found it struggled to keep the living room cool. Some staff seemed annoyed if you did not speak spanish - and yes I know that is their main language but they are huge in tourism and should expect guests from all walks and speaking all different languages. During our stay we tipped very well, on Friday August 21 we attended the Steak House - staff was ignoring our table, the food came out terrible but also very hot it burnt my sons mouth (the ribs) it was like they were microwaved because the plate and all food was insanely hot, We didn't get to inform our waiter as he was non-existant that evening (Reservation was at 7) we walked out. The beach vendors are relentless every 5 minutes asking you if you want to go on a tour etc. the security try's to keep them away but its hard because so many are passing and approaching the resort ropes at all times. I would recommend to buy coconut water from the man who sells it , he was not pushy and kept a great distance, and it was yummy. 1. I ate the pasta at Foccacia with the oil - it looked home made and thick and I got incredibly ill. 2. On two occasions I drank the red wine at the Chopin platinum bar both times after 1 glass threw up, one of the glasses when poured smelled slightly of viniger but had the strangest amber/brick orange color. likely it had spoiled. Both times one glass and ill. I did not experience this having red wine at any other location at the hotel even at the beach it was better tasting with zero issues. One final thing I would like to say is, I was disappointed that there were NO FEMALES in supervisor/Management roles. All of the higher/significant roles were male dominated.. we are in 2026 its time to allow women to stand in these roles. All in all, I would recommend and I would return.

We had a great experience from the minute we arrived. The staff members were really kind and professional. Danna, Patricia and Javier made us feel at home. Javier took well care of our needs, such as restaurant reservations and airport transportation. Thank you all. See you soon.
