Riu Palace Punta Cana

The Hotel Riu Punta Cana is a spectacular resort. The casino is incredibly elegant and has a wonderful vibe.

We visited Riu Palace Punta Cana for our vacation in Dominican Republic. The hotel looks beautiful. The lobby is shiny and looks "luxurious". However, the rooms are not as much, its seems they were renovated but not everything so old mirrors or rusted lamp holders and couch legs really stand out. The service is great , staff is cheerful and welcoming, every one is saying "hi" and wanting to help. The food is good/ok, (it is personal preference) there were many choices but some items could be better (like burgers). The drinks were fun and plentiful , we would try new cocktails every day. The choices for kids were limited if you prefer to limit sugar in their diet. A few choices of juice and lots off sodas. There were restaurants but I do not think their food quality was better than the main buffet which had large selectin , though it felt samey by the end of week. The pools are great , there is always activities for the kids and adults. The beach is beautiful but there were alot of sargassum during our stay which deterred kids going to the ocean , so we spend most of the time at the pool. There were late night activities going on that we did not attendant but we could hear music into the late hours, kids were not big fans of that. Overall the place is ok especially if you can get a deal.

Service was exceptional the bar tenders were Amazing. and the attitude at the property was so pleasant

The overall stay was satisfactory. The exterior of the property was maintained while internally the rooms could used a little more love or care . There was a large number of drain flies due to the slate like drains . I recommend pouring bleach down the drains to kill off the eggs. Outside of the unwanted flying bugs everything was very nice .

Week two Well still allowing drugs to be smoked everywhere.Decided not to move room for two days and put up with the crack house smell. Night before arriving home went to the kristol resturant.Food sent back as cold, when returned my husband had a small bite of his lobster and refused to eat it. We left the meals. As from pics, started to clean pool after complaining. Next day started to feel unwell on the plane, and has had continued sickness and runs. Second visit to doctors who are sending samples off, for further investigation. Complained whilst at resort to Tui and management, and complained to Tui on return.Also made Rui aware as I have never had this at any of there other resorts. If you want Benidorm with below standard food, then go. If you like enhaling the constant weed freely smoked then go. If you, want sickness on your return, then go. But, personly I would avoid at all costs, the worst 6k, I have ever spent. I have stayed at better three star hotels, I will also never book with Tui again, and go back to Hayes and Jarvis, or Virgin as their customer service is a lot better. Three star at best. After complaints, trying to buy us off with petals in room ? and a thank you card. Shocking
