Do not book this hotel! We are currently day 5 out of 10 and counting down the days until we leave. The worst bit which I will mention first is that on 21/8/26 a fire broke out in our block during the night, no fire alarms went off we was woken up by other hotel guests running down the corridor frantically banging on the doors trying to get people out. Once out of the room thanks to the other guests alerting us no staff came to check on guests or to let us know what we should be doing. There was no alarms, there was no communication from staff, no evacuation plan. We had to sit outside around the pool area with our kids until 3.30am. No apology from staff we just was told the following day that the hotel followed protocol. Despite stating when we booked through on the Beach that it’s a recently refurbished hotel this is only the case with the reception area. The hotel itself is run down and needs a lot of repairs. There is no where near enough sun loungers and space for the amount of guests and guests que up from 8am waiting for the pool to open at 9am and then there is a mad rush for sunbeds it’s crazy. Most of the sun loungers are broken and most of them are on dirt meaning everything gets dirty. The swimming pool is filthy and 2 of us cut our feet on glass in there, we found out a week before we arrived chemicals were released in the pool causing people to have to go to hospital. There is entertainment all day by the pool which is good however the evening entertainment is a major let down and is French, we have spent most nights in our room by 9.30. You have to pay extra to use the indoor pool, 50 euros for a family of 4. There is food all day and some of it is nice however it is very repetitive and if you want any meat that is freshly cooked there is huge ques for this often with 1 chef cooking. The plates and cutlery are constantly filthy it feels like they aren’t cleaned at all just rinsed. I often have to pick up numerous plates to find one with the least dirt on it it’s honestly disgusting. The entertainment staff are nice however the bar staff and other staff are not friendly at all, often slamming drinks down, no smiles and no niceness. The reception staff are dismissive especially when we was trying to find out why no fire alarms went off in our block despite there being a fire a few doors down, if it wasn’t for hotel guests waking us up we would of slept through it with the smoke coming in it was very scary and then to be dismissed by the staff. The room key stops working multiple times a day meaning every-time we need to go back to the room we have to go to reception wait in queues for it to be fixed. We are wondering how we are going to fill our time up here over the next 5 days and honestly can’t wait to get home.

This hotel is ok at best. We upgraded to a bigger room with a single bed in the living room and pool view. There were actual mushrooms growing on the wood door frame in the bathroom the ceiling had mold and marks in the bath. I will say the showers water pressure was brilliant. Theres a 2 hour transfer to get to this hotel, it’s long! So if going with kids maybe get a taxi as you are the last drop off. There is only one restaurant and not enough selection at all. The fresh food station isn’t thought out well at all. Only one man cooking, and only loads up half a grill at a time and the ques can be enormous. Again only one Que for drinks this gets time consuming. Bottled water is a nice touch though. Also me and my daughter got food poisoning- the higiene levels of leaving food out all day at the snack bar isn’t great! The massive downfall to this place and why I’d never go again is the lack of sunbeds and their bizarre way of handling this. People que from 1gate only from 8am the pool doesn’t open until 9am and the run to reserve beds! Which it says you can’t do! The staff do nothing about this! Most of the beds are broken and are in terrible condition and there simply isn’t enough for the amount of guests! I’ve never in my life seen fully grown adults run for sunbeds or the chaos it caused. It’s a complete shambles and lets the entire place down.

We have just returned back to the UK after spending 10 nights here, peak time 10-21st August. Starting with the positives: lovely friendly staff (apart from one older man who was quite moody a lot of the time) all the bar staff were very helpful and friendly. Reception staff were lovely and helpful, Rooms were cleaned daily and the hotel itself is lovely and kept clean. A good selection of drinks in all inclusive from cocktails to kids drinks, couldn’t fault the drinks at all. Entertainment was ok and the team did create a great atmosphere around the pool throughout the day. We had a pool view room which was great and a good sized balcony, I really cannot fault or complain about the rooms. Moving onto the less positive: Remote - this hotel is very remote and quite away from anything so a car or taxi’s are a must if you’re wanting to see anything / go anywhere else. We knew before going that it was up a hill but we weren’t prepared for just how far up the hill, there’s nothing you can walk to around it and no local shops etc. We used Ubers at first which were crazy, you could book one which said €15 to Puerto Banus then 5 minutes later it would say €55. This is no reflection on the hotel, just advising not to use Uber, we figured local taxis were better and reception will call you one if you ask them. We went to Marbella, Puerto Banus and Estepona quite a few times using local taxis. Estapona definitely worth visiting, my new favourite place - roughly €17-20 each way for local taxis but worth it. The pool - this is ok but constantly full and people raced for sun loungers at 9am which we found a bit crazy and there is no ‘leave your sun lounger, we will remove your towels, people had them for the day! There or not! Some of the loungers were broken as we experienced on the one day that we managed to get one. The bottom of pool seems to be sandy or quite sharp, my daughter cut her foot, in and around the pool would really benefit from some maintenance. They do clean it though in an evening and on a morning, I think maybe it needs more than just a clean. Food - this is quite repetitive, there is plenty of it but it’s mostly the same things each day; we did try stay positive but on day 6 or so we were trying to go out for tea rather than stay at the hotel. Queues - I have read other reviews about long queues for drinks etc but we didn’t experience this, the longest was maybe a few people in front, few mins max, you have the pool bar and the lobby bar and both were fine, you also have the Marbella lounge bar but this is when it’s open depending on entertainment etc and that could be quite busy. All in all, we had a lovely stay and I can’t fault the staff or hotel but due to the location and a couple of other little bits, food and pool issues, it’s not somewhere we will return to.
