Fantastic hotel, hospitality and service second to none. Sion at reception a great help when I had a work engagement and Caterina helped with a health issue. Really great restaurants and animation team and we will be back!

We stayed at Blau Colonia Sant Jordi for a week as a family of six (two adults, two children aged 5 and 7, an 18-month-old, plus a grandparent in a second room) and would rate it four stars overall. The grounds are genuinely lovely — clean, well-maintained, with a lot of green space. The three pools live up to their reputation; the pirate ship pool is a brilliant hit with younger children, though our older two found the slide options a bit limited and instead spent most of their time in the other pool. The entertainment team was a real standout — inclusive, energetic, and clearly good with kids, running frequent daytime pool games and club activities, and putting on a different evening show every night at 9:30, including an illusionist who had the kids captivated, a flamenco performance, and an exceptional Mongolian acrobatic and contortion act on another night. The absolute highlight, though, was the animation team's own dance show — fantastically choreographed with acrobatics woven throughout, genuinely impressive and clearly a huge amount of work had gone into it. There was also a disco every evening. Rooms were small but clean and tidy, with a comfortable main bed. The pullout sofa bed, however, was uncomfortable and not something I'd recommend for an adult, and its position — right by the main door and balcony door — wasn't ideal from a security perspective, since we'd have preferred an adult sleeping nearest the entry points. This became a real concern on our first night, when someone unexpectedly entered my mother-in-law's room around midnight; she called out, and the visitor apologised and left quickly. We ended up barricading the doors ourselves each evening after that as a precaution. Worth noting for anyone travelling as a larger family: the official room occupancy is capped at 4, and we only managed 5 (2 adults, 2 children, infant in a cot) in one room because we had a second room booked for my mother-in-law to use alone — there doesn't seem to be an official option for families of 5 without booking around this. On the plus side, our specific requests (a room away from the salt flats, and a cot) were both honoured, and check-in and checkout were quick and professional both times. Food was a genuine highlight — good quality and varied, with a different theme each evening (Spanish, seafood, American, a sushi night), a changing dessert selection, and a solid cheese and fruit spread. My wife is coeliac and our youngest has dairy and soya allergies, and while the kitchen did cater for this reasonably well, allergen labelling was inconsistent — not always present, and where it was, items were often grouped together in a way that made it genuinely hard to work out what was safe. Staff were pleasant but very busy, not always easy to flag down, and some had limited English. Water also wasn't provided at dinner despite being freely available at breakfast, which felt like a deliberate tactic to push bottled drink sales rather than an oversight. It's this combination of smaller issues, rather than any single one, that stops me giving a full five stars. A few final notes: there was an island-wide power outage on our first night (not the hotel's fault), during which the water dispensers went down too — some staff were very helpful in sourcing water from reception's backup generator, others less so, initially just suggesting we buy bottled water. Once restored, the water from the dispensers tasted quite salty, so we bought bottled water regardless. Mosquitoes were mentioned frequently in other reviews, but in practice we all got a few bites and nothing more than you'd expect in a subtropical location. The hotel's free shuttle to the northwest beach was punctual and reliable, and the beach itself was clean with clear water, but we actually preferred the beach a 10-minute walk southeast of the hotel, which has more restaurants, bars and ice cream parlours, and cheaper sunbeds (€23 for two loungers and an umbrella, versus €30 for the same at the beach the hotel shuttle serves). The outdoor playground was good, though the indoor play cabins had limited equipment, restricted hours, and were inconveniently far from reception and the breakfast area — it would be a real improvement to have play space nearer reception for rainy days or while waiting for meals. Overall, we felt this was good value for money, particularly for peak season, and we'd happily return.

Travelled as a family of 5, 2 grandparents, daughter & 2 grandchildren aged 7 & 4. The transfer, in a large minibus, to & from the resort was quick & efficient & Jet2 reps were there to guide us to the correct area for pick up. Our rooms weren't ready on arrival so we stored our luggage near reception & were given complimentary vouchers to go & have a drink. We were then all transported by golf cart to our rooms. We had a superior family room & a superior double room next to each other...both were comfortable, clean, spacious & stylish. There is a small onsite shop at the entrance to the resort selling drinks, snacks & other essentials, including inflatables. It is about a 12-15 min walk to Port Colonia or other bars & restaurants...the port is well worth a visit & has a small beach too. The pools are all brilliant, a great selection for younger & older children & adults. The spa area also looked fab but we didn't get to try it. Sunbeds were also not really an issue. It was busy from about 9.30-10am onwards but if beds were 'reserved' with towels for a long time staff & no return staff would remove them. Loved this idea as so many hotels allow guests to 'block' sunbeds all day! The entertainment was top quality, both for children & adults. The staff were friendly, very hard working & extremely helpful. The grounds are immaculate & very attractive. There is also a pirate ship pool area which my grandchildren loved. There is a shuttle provided by the hotel to take guests to the beach. We did this once & caught the first shuttle in the morning @ 9.30am. The beach gets extremely busy as the day progresses, until there is hardly any space left. We paid 30 euros for 1 umbrella & 2 sunbeds. A few minor points... guests have to pay for water at dinner, which we found annoying as it's available at breakfast. The buffet restaurant is huge & provides a great variety of food, both at breakfast & dinner. However, unless you arrive when it opens @ 7.30 am for breakfast & 6.30pm for dinner, it becomes extremely noisy and very busy with guests bumping into each other...not a great experience if you want a quiet dinner. We ended up going early & sitting outside. In the bar there was not a great selection of good wine available & no low sugar/diet tonic. Overall, we had a great family holiday. I cannot praise the staff highly enough, everyone from reception to the entertainment staff were amazing. Thank you so much.
