We travelled all the way from the United States, and it wasn't even our family's first full night here before we witnessed something that really shocked us. Both my wife and I were brought up with Spanish grandparents, so we understood exactly what was being said. While we were at reception, we heard an employee called Vira direct an extremely vulgar insult in Spanish at another member of staff, telling them to "have intercourse with their mother." It was completely inappropriate and disturbing for us to hear, especially in a hotel reception where guests and families were present. After this, we were checked in by a member of staff we believe was called Peta. Despite having just been subjected to such unacceptable abuse, she continued her shift with a smile, remained calm, professional, and welcoming, and gave us a perfect check-in experience. As a family, we feel it's important to say that nobody should ever have to endure that kind of treatment in the workplace. Whatever the circumstances, abuse between colleagues should never be acceptable. I've never written a review this quickly, but tonight felt like the right time. I'm not sure how these situations are normally handled in Spain, but we sincerely hope the matter is taken seriously. Thank you, Peta, for your professionalism and kindness after what we witnessed and understood in Español. You represented your hotel with dignity. Continue being you. 🇪🇸❤️🇺🇸
