Globales Condes de Alcudia

Stay away! Terrible food and unbearable comfort. I have been visiting Alcudia with my children for 12 years in a row, so I know the area well and have stayed at different hotels over the years. This was our first time at Hotel Condes de Alcudia, and without a doubt, it will also be our last. Unfortunately, so many things were wrong that it is difficult to know where to begin. The two biggest problems by far were the terrible food and the appalling level of comfort due to extremely poor air conditioning. The food was really bad! The selection was poor and repetitive, with no decent alternatives to pork. It was basically one big low-quality pork fest. The fish was badly prepared and often full of bones. This was simply not a buffet we looked forward to eating from. Quite the opposite. We left the restaurant disappointed and hungry for 10 days in a row. I raised the issue within the first few days, but nothing changed. The snack bar was constantly running out of food, and the service there was slow and inefficient. On several occasions, it seemed as though the staff simply could not (or would not) keep up. Even something as basic as coffee was a huge disappointment. If you wanted proper coffee, you had to pay extra, despite being on an all-inclusive package. What was otherwise offered was some kind of cheap coffee concentrate that tasted absolutely awful. On top of that, drinking water was not available 24/7. Water was only available while the bar was open, which I find completely unreasonable at an all-inclusive hotel in Mallorca in the middle of summer. The air conditioning was hopeless! The air conditioning in the room had almost no effect. The same was true in the restaurant and lobby, where it was often uncomfortably hot. When we reported the problem with the air conditioning in our room, no real help was provided. We were not even offered a fan or any other temporary solution. The situation culminated in a complete breakdown of the air conditioning throughout the entire hotel during the final two days. In my experience, the way this was handled was terrible. Plenty of apologies, but no useful solutions. The rooms are pure budget. The rooms are very small, with hardly any surface space and very limited wardrobe/storage space. Everything feels cheap and stripped back. There was not even a refrigerator in the room. If you wanted one, you had to pay extra to rent it. I have never experienced this before on a holiday of this type, and it says a lot about the general standard of the hotel. The cleaning staff were also extremely noisy early in the morning. Furniture was dragged around, there was constant banging and rumbling, and staff spoke loudly in the corridors, making it difficult to get any peace and quiet. The lifts are hopelessly inadequate. For a hotel of this size, with nine floors, there were only two extremely small and claustrophobic lifts. Long waits for a lift were completely normal, and their capacity was almost absurd. If four people were inside at the same time, the lift was already packed to its absolute limit. This is yet another example of the hotel facilities simply not being designed to cope with the number of guests the hotel accommodates. The pool is far too small. In my opinion, the pool area is nowhere near large enough for the number of guests. The pool is small and constantly overcrowded. At the busiest times, it felt more like a giant pot of human soup than somewhere you would actually want to relax. Conclusion. After 12 years of holidays in Alcudia, this is without comparison the worst hotel experience I have ever had. My clear advice: Stay away! Find another hotel! Even if it costs more. In my experience, Condes de Alcudia is a bare-bones budget hotel with poor food, inadequate facilities and air conditioning that you simply cannot rely on. And honestly, it wasn’t cheap! I will never return.

We recently stayed at Globales Condes de Alcudia. While there were some positives, unfortunately we wouldn't consider this a 3 star hotel. In our experience, it is much closer to a 2 star. The biggest positive is the location. The hotel is in a great spot and the beach is very close, which was perfect for us. This was especially useful because the hotel pool is extremely small considering the size of the hotel and the number of guests. The rooms are clean and are cleaned regularly, which we appreciated, and some members of staff are absolutely lovely. However, the rooms themselves are very dated and basic. We stayed as two adults and a child, and once you have three people and your suitcases in the room, there is barely any space to move around. Unfortunately, the food was one of the biggest disappointments. We found it very basic and repetitive, and the evening meals in particular were very poor. In the end, we chose to eat out every evening despite having paid for all inclusive. It's also worth knowing that not everything is actually included in the all inclusive package. We also found some of the restaurant staff to be quite rude and unwelcoming, although I want to stress that there are other members of staff around the hotel who are genuinely lovely and helpful. For families with young children, there are also some safety concerns that parents should be aware of. The hotel has two open entrances and, from what we experienced, it very open and accessible to members of the public. Equally, a young child could potentially wander out of the hotel, so we didn't feel it was particularly child friendly or secure, and it has NO child facilities such as parks or play areas. We were also concerned about the lifeguards around the pool. During our stay, we noticed them spending time looking at their phones rather than appearing to actively watch the pool. With children using the pool, we didn't find this particularly reassuring and felt the pool area should have been supervised more attentively. There are only two lifts serving a nine floor hotel, so at busy times you can spend quite a while waiting. The in room safes also cost extra to hire and we felt they were expensive. Overall, the hotel is clean, basic and in a fantastic location, and the closeness of the beach is a major advantage. However, based on the small and dated rooms, poor and repetitive food, tiny pool, additional charges, limited lifts and our concerns around child and pool safety, we don't feel it lives up to a 3 star rating. For us, it was definitely more of a 2 star experience.

Very pleasant 9 night stay at this hotel. I'd read some negative reviews along with reviews from visitors who return many times so I thought lets not make assumptions. Check in was quick as we were only customers from our coach, arrived early at 11:15am, informed room was ready and on a low floor which I called ahead and requested. Check in time was 2pm but for 15 euros we could check in early, that was for 2 of us. TBH I've never had to pay for an early check in before, so maybe this is just a Globales hotel thing. Safe was expensive at 62 euros for 9 nights, 10 euros deposit included. Been to many Globales hotels and safe's are always expensive. When we initially entered the room, it struck us as small but I think this was because the bathroom was just a few feet into the main room so, then a few more feet before you were in bedroom area. But actually it was quite wide, so not as small as we first thought. There's a fitted wardrobe with adequate hanging space and 5 shelves. Safe is located in wardrobe. Never enough hangers but I always bring some wire ones with me, so no issues. Bedside tables with a drawer, another table with 2 drawers, along with chair and mirror above. A further unit below TV with 2 shelves, so overall plenty of storage space for 2 people. Beds and pillows extremely comfortable. Spacious bathroom with piping hot water, very powerful shower. Shower gel and soap provided. Negatives in room were only 2 electric sockets, one below TV (BBC & ITV showing) and 1 in the bathroom for hairdryer. Popped down to ask reception if they were hidden someone I may have missed, alas not. Hired an extension lead for a refundable 10 euro. I was informed the refurbed rooms have adequate sockets. Made our way to the pool area, this was around 1pm and plenty of still beds available, not all have umbrellas. Pool is small but perfectly adequate for dipping in and out of to cool off. There are commercial businesses adjacent to one side of the pool area with some rears of the businesses overlooking the pool, above them is living accommodation and some are really scruffy so not particularly a nice view. TBH we didn't notice it after the 1st day. Bar located at pool area, always well staffed and usual selection of drinks. Cocktails and branded drinks you obviously had to pay for. Snacks available for around 11am to 6pm, burgers, hot dogs, fresh pizza and lovely chips. Also fruit and ice cream. We found the choice of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner all fine. Lots of selection at breakfast, lovely salad bar for lunch & dinner. Choice of meats, fish, pasta, paellla etc. Food I know is always a contentious issue with reviewers some saying its awful to others saying fantastic, so its a hard one but I found it absolutely fine. Evening entertainment on the whole was good, I've stayed in 4 star hotels where its been not as good. Over the 9 nights we saw several singers, acrobats, flamenco and nights of quizzes and karaoke. Evening entertainment starts at 8;30pm with mini disco, followed by diploma presentation, bingo then main show at 10pm. Bar closes at midnight. Daytime activities included rifle shooting, archery, shuffle board, darts, pool & pool activities including my favourite Aqua Dance. Activities for young children took place on stage out of the sun, no mini club room as such. The stand out stars of this hotel are 100% the Animation team, made up of Adrian & Myline. Adrian is Spanish with perfect English, along with the humour and Myline, Dutch again with perfect English. These 2 are a joy and a huge asset to this hotel. I think the No.1 moan that I heard from other holiday makers was the Air Conditioning. It was virtually non existent in the restaurant (poor staff were melting) and not much better in the bedrooms. On departure we spoke to reception who explained that 1 unit was not working and the other was struggle with the very high temperatures. The AC issue didn't spoil our stay as we had a lovely time and would recommend this hotel but please bear in mind its 3 star not 5 star.

This is our 5th time coming to this hotel. The staff have always been kind and friendly. The hotel is always clean. Food wise it could be a bit better, breakfast was always good, the hot food is always hot and could always find something to eat, and theres also the pool bar during the day with burgers, chips, pizzas etc. The room we had was one of the recently refurbished rooms and was great, had a walk in shower, and had 3 plug sockets( I always take a power strip anyway). The lift situation can be frustrating because there is only 2 of them, but we were never waiting long and we were not in a rush anyway. The pool is a little small for the size of the hotel but it was always clean and the cleaners are out every morning cleaning the patio around the pool. The 2 doing the entertainment were great, the guy was hilarious when he was doing the aqua dancing and the poolball. The location of this hotel is great for the beach, a short 5min walk away, and for shops. If you happen to get a room on the upper floors and at pool side you get a great view aswell. Can't wait to go back next year

Literally just checked out and waiting for transfer to the airport. Had a fantastic holiday. No complaints at all. I was so nervous because of some reviews but I think some of these people are expecting 5star for 3 star cost! Do some things need a bit of a refurb.. yes is the toilet location in the bathroom weird .. yes. But it's spotlessly clean everywhere All staff are so nice and smiley. From reception to bar staff to wait staff and cleaners. Never a fight for sunbeds. There is so much choice for food it's impossible to not find something you like (and as for the complaints of it being cold... I never found this but did see a microwave so no prob there)Yes you have to wait for the lift but your on holiday what are u in a rush for. I would come back tomorrow very happily!
