Grupotel Port d'Alcudia

Just came back from here. We arrived & was told the room wasn't ready for us,not what we wanted to hear. When asked what time we could get in we was told 2pm,so we had to wait around for 2hrs. The room was basic,not a double bed(two single beds pushed together) however we did sleep well. Modern bathroom however we had no shower door so the floor would get soaked. The cleaner comes daily which is good but you have to be out of your room at 9am in order to let her in. 1 waited outside our door which I felt pressured to quickly eat breakfast & get out. 1 walked with our spare door fob,we then had to find her to get it back. Another walked in while we was having breakfast. Beds are not changed daily,& bins not always changed so quite questionable what they actually come for. Staff friendly expecially bar staff. Entertainment was excellent expecially the magic show. Drinks & food very expensive for portion sizes. Kids pool freezing. Pool closed 3 times for somebody not putting a swim nappy on their baby. Very frustrating in the hot weather. Aqua aerobics loved it! Bigger pool was nice but kids bringing in footballs & massive floats kept hitting us. The pool assistant lady shouted at my 3yr old for standing at the top of the slide,then came marching over to me saying is it yours! Very rude to call my child an it.. sign was up to not reserve sunbeds but people still was with nothing said. Smoking area's allocated around the pool but guests still smoking & vaping on sun loungers. Kids running down the hall ways gone midnight & screaming. Air-conditioning was very good & free! Didn't use the safe or eat in the main restaurant as we was self catering. Wouldn't say 4 star more like a 3. Would I return? Possibly not no! Wasn't a bad holiday but the negatives outway the positives

We went for a week, first time abroad as a family with our 5 and 7 year old. They loved the swimming pool and kids pool area.Pool was nice and clean throughout the stay. Some of the lifeguarding was interesting, first one very attentive and alert, others more interested in being on mobile phone and getting drinks from the pool bar. Room was a good size for family of four, very good sized balcony with drying rack for towels etc. Food wise there was a good selection throughout the stay and was never a struggle to find something to eat. Special mention to Jose who worked in the restaurant, was the friendliest member of staff there, always came and saw us to say hi and give the kids a high 5 each time he saw them. He is a credit to the hotel having previously worked in hospitality sector myself. The only area that we felt could be improved was the entertainment during day for kids and also the evening, very repetitive, 3 nights of circus themed performances in a row followed by 3 nights of singers. Overall, a nice clean and well run staff with friendly staff. We would definitely be happy to go and have another holiday there again.

We went as a family of 20, all different ages, a 5 week old, toddlers, teens and adults, we ad a fabulous time, there was something for all of us to enjoy, all the staff were lovely, food was perfect, we couldnt of picked a more perfect hotel to go to as our first family holiday, loved everything about it

What a fantastic holiday we have had. Far exceeded our expectations. The hotel is lovely. I was impressed by the cleanliness and overall attractiveness of the reception, bar and family friendly pool area. Staff professional and attentive, whilst also creating a relaxed, friendly vibe. Location couldn't be better, less than a 10 minute walk to beach, bars and restaurants. Beach is so safe being only waist deep for a good stretch out. Room with kitchenette was well equipped for our board basis. If B&B or half board it would only be suitable for basic cook and prep. Fridge very welcome as was the large bottle of water on arrival and little pack of cleaning essentials. Room had shower gel, soap and hairdryer. As we were all inclusive we were never bored of the food on offer as it differed/rotated regularly in main restaurant and catered for all palets (I read a few negative reviews on here before we left and glad I ignored them). The bar snack options were also tasty and my daughter appreciated the ice-cream freezers where she could freely select a little ice lolly or icecream. Pool area was clean and pool attendants vigilant ....We visited high season and whilst sadly there were cheeky reserved loungers, we didn't struggle to find one when we finally came down (albeit a little out of the way!) There's a water park about a 15 minute walk away which satisfied my 15 yr daughter, as well as lots of other excursions that pick up from hotel or nearby locations.

We arrived at the hotel as a family of four and, as our flight was an early morning one, we arrived a little before our room was ready. The staff were more than happy for us to leave our luggage safely in the luggage storage room, so we headed out for some lunch. We returned around 2:40pm and our room was ready for us. The room was much better than we expected! We had a lovely double bed in the bedroom, a sofa bed in the lounge, and a small kitchen area complete with a microwave, fridge and kettle. It was spacious and perfect for our family. The pool area was fantastic. We were always able to find a sun lounger, and the pools were great. The whole pool area was kept really clean and tidy. Our 5-year-old absolutely loved the children’s pool and slides, as well as jumping into the bigger pool — she had the best time! We did find ourselves looking for places to eat in the evenings, so we asked reception if it was possible to upgrade our stay to half board. They were incredibly helpful and made the process really easy. We were so glad we did, as the evening meals were far better than we expected from a self-service, all-you-can-eat buffet. There was lots of variety, plenty of choices for children, and options suitable for gluten-free and dairy-free diets. The staff were all lovely, but a special mention has to go to Jose in the restaurant. He was absolutely amazing and a true credit to the hotel! Our daughter was always asking for Jose and wanted to see him every evening. No matter how busy he was, he would always make time to come over and chat with us. His kindness and friendliness really made our stay extra special. I do feel the children’s entertainment could be a bit longer instead of the 30mins of dancing. The hotel itself is wonderful, and we honestly couldn’t fault our experience. It’s also in a great location — only around a 5-minute walk to the beach, with easy bus access to Alcudia Port and Palma City. We had such a lovely family holiday and would 100% return to this hotel.
