Location is terrible, Magaluf in Palma. If you want to be on a strip with drunk early 20’s Germans though it’s great. The hotel itself is ok but not worth the 5 star, more of a 3-4. Pool area small and it’s a fight to get a sunbed. Germans approaching you accusing you of moving their towel. Outside bar staff incredibly rude, would not give my elderly mother water, told her she had to go into the hotel reception which we all had to do to get water refills which is dangerous in wet swimwear. How can this be allowed? Had a lipstick stain on a glass and was told “oh well that’s how it is here”. Food in the hotel buffet was exceptional can’t fault the variety and quality. Managers were very friendly and Alex on reception was very helpful. Some of the reception staff were rude and unhelpful. Downstairs toilets weren’t refreshed with towels and toilet roll until mid morning so if you go for an early breakfast it’s not ideal. The hotel was clean and overall appearance is nice but lacks atmosphere so overall a real disappointment.

Not a 5 star hotel. Not even close. Gym is embarrassing. The worst i have ever seen. Staff very rude and unhelpful. Pool is small. Sunbed wars and fights every day. Totally unacceptable. Water not included in half board package at meal times. The location is awful. On a strip with bars, clubs and drunk people. For the money we paid there are far better options elsewhere. Wont ever be returning.

We've just returned from 5 nights at the hotel and I feel I have to share my disappointment and to warn other wheelchair users to avoid this hotel so that they aren't exploited as we were. I wanted to book a special hotel to celebrate my 50th birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary. I BOOKED through a travel agent an accessible room for myself and my husband, and a triple room for my daughters. We accepted the price, but then had to upgrade to ensure the girls had a suite to accommodate 3. When I checked the hotel details a week before arrival I noticed there was no mention of an accessible room. I contacted the travel agent and hotel. The hotel said they had an accessible double and I could change our suite but would be charged an additional £415. I felt so disappointed that I was expected to pay more for a smaller room that I had made clear at the beginning that I needed. An accessible room isn't a preference it is necessary! On the plus side the view from the bedroom was lovely looking over the sea, the balcony is spacious with a lip free doorway - but the door was heavy to move and hard to go through because of the 3 set of curtains. The bathroom is open plan, so although a novel idea, it can be a bit tricky when one of you needs a bit of privacy on the toilet. The double sinks look lovely and do have a space underneath to wheel up - but they're high and deep, so hard to reach for the taps and use as a wheelchair user and the tops get wet so a bit tricky to leave washbags on the top as they get very wet. The shower cubical was just about big enough to wheel in the shower chair I'd hired for the stay, a wet room would have been easier as the lip in and out of the cubical was challenging. The other inconvenient thing about the bathroom/ bedroom is that there's no mirror and socket to be able to do your hair - I mentioned this to the manager but she said that she could not provide a mirror for the room, it would have been nice to have a mirror on the desk near the socket rather than having to use a small compact. I booked this hotel as it had a pool hoist so that I could enter the swimming pool - but the hoist has been positioned in a corner of the pool that made it hard and almost dangerous to transfer from a wheelchair. The hoist was positioned over the pool, in other situations I would have put my wheelchair next to the hoist seat then transfer over with help from the life guard. At this hotel my husband had to lift me very awkwardly out of my chair and into the hoist seat, keeping balance by reaching over the edge of the pool, not a dignified transfer at all, and not good for his back. Because of this awkward location of the seat my husband felt safer struggling with our daughter's help rather than relying on the pool staff who didn't seem to be trained how to help. I saw another wheelchair user guest shuffling across the floor as it was a safer way to get in and out of the pool - unfortunately I don't have that physical ability. Also I have to note that evening entertainment is available in the 'sunset champagne bar' which was on an other level - but the lift wasn't working so I wasn't able to enjoy the bar and entertainment at night. From speaking to other guests who have returned to the hotel, the lift up to the bar hasn't been working for years!!! The manager tried to overcome this problem by 'upgrading' me to a different bedroom that wasn't accessible so that I could watch the singers from my balcony - not really worth the sacrifice of having an accessible bedroom. Staff on the whole were friendly and courteous. I would have appreciated help with the breakfast buffet as the counters were all very high, I was helped twice during my stay, considering that the hotel is advertised as a 5 star hotel I did expect better service as I've received staff that were ready to help when staying at lower priced hotels. Overall I would have to warn disabled guests that although the hotel is kept very clean, and most of the hotel is accessible it is overpriced for the quality of the property and service. Be aware too that food and drink are expensive, they even charge for tap water!! The initial disappointment of being exploited and over charged as a wheelchair user did effect my stay, and the fact that the management team had no intention of reimbursing for any of their inconveniences apart from waving the the late checkout fee on the last day caused me to feel very upset and couldn't enjoy the holiday and left me feeling like I regretted booking the holiday. I've never cried in disappointment so much on holiday.
