Iberostar Waves Club Cala Barca

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing family holiday! We’ve just returned from an amazing family holiday at Iberostar Waves Club Cala Barca with our two daughters, aged 4 and 9, and we honestly couldn’t recommend it enough! Star Camp was brilliant and so well organised. The girls loved the activities, and we especially loved the QR code check-in and check-out system. It gave us great reassurance knowing the girls were safely signed in and collected. The animation team were fantastic and worked incredibly hard throughout the day and evening. The evening entertainment was genuinely brilliant, with a great variety of shows and something for everyone. We did find it a little odd initially that the mini disco was in the pool at 5.30pm, but with the entertainment being so good, it really wasn’t an issue and the girls absolutely loved it! The food was lovely, with plenty of choice and something for everyone. Yes, the resort is busy, but we were there during peak school holidays, so this was completely expected. We were always able to get sunbeds at around 9am, so this was never an issue for us. We stayed in Block 33, which is on the other side of the road separating the different areas of the resort. It was only around a 5-minute walk, and we actually really enjoyed being slightly further away as it felt a little quieter. The whole resort is fantastic for families with children of different ages. Both girls had an amazing time, and we came home with some very special memories. A huge thank you to all the staff, who work incredibly hard to make everyone’s holiday enjoyable. We would definitely recommend Cala Barca and would love to return! 5⭐️ from our family! ❤️☀️🌴

Spent 7 nights at the Iberostar Cala Barca and my honest review is that is was just ok. The first thing we noticed when checking in was the lack of air con in the check-in area. It was 38 degrees outside, why no air con? But it was nice to be offered some snacks and a drink whilst we waited. Our room was a bit of a walk from the main area so we were taken to our room in a golf cart and the driver carried our bags to the top floor. I suggest that if you have any accessibility challenges that you request a room closer to the main entertainment area or avoid the hotel completely. Every day we did over 10000 steps, not out of choice! Also really tough in the heat. The room was fine, for us it was mostly somewhere just to sleep and get changed as we spend most of the day at the pools. The room was quiet, no issues with sleeping or noise. WiFi also worked great, not just in the room but around the complex. But the bathroom had a few mouldy spots and there was a large hole above the shower. There was a fridge but it wasn't topped with any drinks. Randomly there was a microwave but no kettle. There was a water dispenser to refill bottles on the bottom floor but the water was nowhere near cold enough. Food options were great and there was definitely something for everyone but the main restaurant was so busy. Definitely not a place to have a relaxing meal and just TOO HOT every day! Again, no air con and so many people using their own fans. The ice-cream was constantly too soft and melting because it was too warm. The cold cream desserts were often warm and not pleasant to eat. If management respond to this it would be good to understand why there was no air con in the restaurant when it was consistently over 35 degrees. Slightly better in the Mediterranean and Mexican restaurants and good food there. Definitely recommend booking dinner on the beach (do this as soon as you arrive), so much more calm and lovely bbq buffet down there. You can also have breakfast there without booking. The ice-cream parlour was ok, kids loved it but if i was being picky then there should be more flavour options to make it amazing. Only 5 flavours and 3 of them were the same as the restaurant at dinner time - vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. Good shop next to the ice-cream parlour selling all the essentials that you may need. The swimming pools were great, the kids spent most of their time there. Food carts and bar right next to the pools were great. Some have said that the sunbed allocation was bad but we sometimes arrived at the pool after 11am and there were sunbeds available, albeit further back from the pool on the grass. The place is definitely tailored for kids and if you don't have children I would say that it's not the place for you, at least not in the school holidays. The evening entertainment was good, a quiz followed by different entertainment shows each night. The general areas were always clean and the toilets by the pool were regularly checked. The staff were all great and polite. I liked the little touch of being handed a Corona or Sangria outside before lunch. As I said at the start, the place was just ok. Im not a fussy person and i don't expect everything to be pristine but we spent £5k on this holiday and i should be thinking it was amazing. Would I go again? Definitely not. If you are booked to go you won't have a terrible time but i just think there are better hotels out there for the money.

I like all of this place! Its so nice having a holidays here. The food is so yummy and they have really good variety of drinks. Several places where you can dinner. The housekeeping team do a good job. We will definetly return!

We spent the day at the hotel with a day pass and had such a great experience! There were three things we especially appreciated: 1. Everything you need in one place – the hotel really had it all, with great facilities, food, drinks, activities and entertainment. It was the perfect place to spend a full day and just enjoy ourselves. 2. The atmosphere – we really loved the relaxed and fun atmosphere around the hotel. 3. The staff – everyone we met was friendly and welcoming and made our day even better. A special mention has to go to Aderly from the Animation Team! He really stood out and brought so much positive energy, warmth and fun to our day. He made us feel incredibly welcome and was definitely one of the highlights of our experience. A real asset to the team! We had a fantastic day and would definitely recommend the day pass! ☀️

Amazing hotel. We have a fantastic see view room in the block 34. The water of the see here is incredible. Our children are enjoying a lot of with the animation team and all the activities. Thank you Cristiana, for taking care of them.
