We visited between 16th and 23rd of July and have to say this was our favourite holiday to date. Check in was simple (greeted with Prosecco), all staff, reception, animation, bar, pool, cleaning etc are all super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Food options were amazing, we've one daughter who's cealiac (GF) and another is vegetarian and they both ate like Queens. Far better than anything else we had ever experienced. 4 restaurants and lots of snack wagons serving everything from cakes and pastries to chips, hotdogs, burgers, nuggets, coffees, ice-cream etc etc etc, all catering for GF dining also. We had one outing to the waterpark in Palma and the staff provided daughter with lots of GF treats to ensure she didnt go hungry as watermark is not so inclusive. As we had 5 if us, we had adjoining rooms. This consisted of a shared main door (which is lockable) and then 2 separate apartments within this, again, both lockable. The 2 eldest shared one apartment, and the youngest shared with us. Due to the main door being lockable, we were able to leave internal doors open. Beach was small but quiet and we all enjoyed snorkeling, seing lots of fish and also an octopus. Pools were busy but not rammed and not once could we not find a lounger at one of the pools (or near to). There is plenty of other seating near the main pools if you are unfortunate enough to miss out on a lounger. Daytime and evening entertainment was exceptional with something for everyone, hosted by amazing staff. From music, fire show, chorus acts, and an interactive Alice in Wonderland show, which my daughter got to play a character. Definitely a party atmosphere around the complex but also quiet air conditioned areas too if you want to avoid the heat and chill with a game of cards and a coffee or beer. Cannot fault. We will return here in the future 100%

We had an amazing family holiday. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out. I was really impressed with the nice touches the hotel did towards sustainability. We requested a green room as we only needed and wanted towels and cleaning every other day and as a thank you we got a complimentary mini bar stock of drinks. Plus the ice cream shop had edible cone / flake made bowls and spoons which reduces waste. We’ve stayed in Tui blues, Tui Magics which have all been good but the Waves Club Cala Barca Iberostar is our best family holiday yet. We would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Location is quite out of the way, but we didn’t have any need/desire to leave the hotel for the 6 nights we were there so this wasn’t an issue to us! Atmosphere was great, lots going on, especially around the World Cup which was fun! The airport transfer was around 1hr15 minutes and we were the first drop off. We entered the main hotel doors expecting to feel the relief of lovely air con, but the unfortunately the reception area didn’t deliver here, neither did anywhere else on-site, other than in the shop! We have visited Majorca during this week in fairly recent years and it hasn’t been quite as hot and nowhere near as humid as it was during our stay, so perhaps this didn’t help, but the air conditioning throughout the site just didn’t seem to be able to cope with the temperature and the humidity. Our room was just about cool enough and you did feel some relief when walking into the sports bar, but the restaurants were very uncomfortable meaning that it felt like we needed to eat and get out asap which was a shame. I would’ve liked somewhere (anywhere!) to escape the midday heat, but it felt like there was no escape, other than to go back to the room. Our sink was leaking a little so we reported this and it was attended to swiftly. Unfortunately it wasn’t quite sorted after this visit, so again someone came very quickly to sort it. It was great to be able to use the Iberostar app to report/request things, and the responses were very quick. When we felt our air con wasn’t working as it had been one day, a maintenance guy came out to fix it quicker than reception could reply on the app, so that was impressive. We were in block 43 which was nice and quiet and away from the hustle and bustle which is what we would prefer, however it was a walk up a very steep hill to this block which wasn’t fun at 30-35 degrees! The heat and humidity in the evenings meant that it was just too sweaty for us to sit out and watch the entertainment for long - we usually gave up after half an hour and walked back home dripping! We didn’t mind this too much with 2 children aged 6 and 11. We were grateful that we couldn’t hear a thing in terms of music/the entertainment from block 43. Great to be taken in the golf buggy with our cases to our room on arrival. I didn’t expect to be able to arrange the same as we checked out at 6am, but we were greeted 5 minutes earlier than requested by a very helpful porter and were whizzed to reception which was a big help at that time of the morning! The quiz each night was fun and I was in awe of the entertainment team working so hard in such heat. Hats off to them! The food was great, we particularly enjoyed the Mexican restaurant for the food, but again it was hot and sticky. Couldn’t help but feel for the waiters/waitresses and chefs! 🥵 The hotel’s own beach is lovely, it’s just a shame you had to pay for the sun loungers/umbrellas. We took a kayak out one morning, which was great. The variety of pools was definitely a hit with our kids. We quickly realised you needed to take towels down to the sunbeds in the morning, despite the signs saying they would be removed if left unattended for 45 minutes. The pools near the entertainment area and main restaurant were really lovely with trees overhanging, but this did mean the pools had pine needles in and your towels often got bird poo on! It did make for lovely scenery though, so a difficult one to balance! Biggest pros - number and variety of pools - the ice cream parlour - big comfortable - edible straws, edible spoons etc were great sustainability touches - wrist bracelet/fob for entry to the room meant you could never trek back from the pool to find you’d left your card Biggest cons - Indoor temperature uncomfortable wherever you go, other than hotel room. - Shower intensity/water pressure was a bit like a caravan shower - Getting condensation from “air con” units dropped on you from above while eating - steep hill to block 43 and others nearby I want to say that none of the negatives above is a reflection on any of the staff. They are all clearly working tirelessly, often in very uncomfortable situations. There are maintenance people/cleaners etc everywhere as it is clearly an around the clock job keeping on top of everything on such a big and busy site.
