Protur Safari Park

Great hotel for families with young children. We were with our 1 year old and 3 year old. Great mix of pools - baby pools, main pools and splash park included (aimed at kids up to around 6, our 3 year old loved it and could manage the slides herself, 1 year old loved that he could drawl round the edge). Bigger water park across the road we didn’t visit but looked good. Mini disco (8:30pm, outside setting) was great, loads of young kids up dancing, 3 year old loved getting involved. Repetitive but kids got used to it then. Entertainment that followed this was okay, generally a singer. Food was good. Buffet restaurants are nice environments, with outdoor option, good selection each night, but no drinks service a downside. À la carte restaurants were hard to book (bookings available at 2pm each day on an app). Many of the à la cartes are still buffet style too (with no drinks service), be nice to have more that actually service food and drinks to you. Kids club staff also seemed good - 3 year old went to one of the morning sessions aimed at 3-6 year olds. Mini golf included was a good plus. Splash park part which includes the park, trampolines and some little rides is open 10am -6pm - would have benefitted from this been open earlier to use trampolines and park (swing/slides) before too hot. Overall great family friendly hotel and lots of family guests so great opportunities for kids to make friends.

We recently returned home from a 11 night stay at safari park. One word.. fantastic!! The staff were so friendly. The hotel and grounds were extremely clean. The cleaning was exceptional. The restaurants were all lovely too. Plenty of food choice and snacks too. There’s loads of ice creams available which my little boy loved. The pools were clean too and you could always get a sunbed. No need for sunbed wars! The location of the hotel is superb. A 5 minute walk away from the beach and bars and restaurants. Also a 25 minute walk/10 minute drive to Cala millor or you can get a taxi to Cala bona. I would highly recommend visiting both. There’s so much to do at the hotel for children and adults. Entertainment day and night, mini golf, boats, splash park and so much more all within the hotel grounds. The all inclusive drinks were good too and a good selection of cocktails also. Overall I would highly recommend the hotel and will definitely consider returning.

We've been to a few all inclusive hotels in Spain as a family and so far this is the best we've found. Good selection of pools and if you want something a bit different, I thought the water park across the road was reasonable value to get a few slides and actually quite quiet. However I would say the pools are tailored much more towards kids aged 0-12 than older ones. Sun beds get taken up very quickly but we never failed to get 3 together, even if some were further from the pools than others. For older kids there are sports activities which may be of interest to some but this hotel is definitely for younger children. The entire hotel looks modern and clean and staff were very nice. The rooms are spacious, comfortable (though beds slightly firm for my liking) and nicely furnished. Food was surprisingly good for an all-inclusive. Outstanding variety, with some high quality stuff at times like tender lamb shanks and freshly grilled prawns. Great selection for kids too including ice cream they could scoop for themselves. The themed restaurants were OK. Nice to have one or two nights in a quieter setting than the main buffet restaurant but quality of food was no different to what you'd get there. Food was available pretty much around the clock from 8am until 8pm and the ice creams on offer as part of the all inclusive were surprisingly delicious. In terms of the bars, the usual all inclusive selections really. Something for everyone but you'll have to pay extra for certain drinks and hand made cocktails. For the evening entertainment we only ever stayed for the mini disco as that was already quite late for our toddler. Staff were great with the kids. The location was decent, around a 15 minute walk from Sa Coma beach. A lot of activities there but the sea was utterly infested with seaweed when we went there and that was pretty unpleasant. Cala Millor beach is a bit more of a walk but it's a better beach in my opinion, with more choice of bars, cafes and restaurants too. All in all, this hotel was great for our needs. I've certainly been to more relaxing hotels but that's not why we chose this place. We came here because it had a lot to offer our toddler and she had a whale of a time, as did we as a result.

We stopped in this hotel before in 2023, the hotel is great for families and has everything from a splash park to mini golf and a small boating lake ,it has around about 5 pools of various sizes . The hotel is also good for it's restaurants as it has a few to choose from .unfortunately this time we experienced a few power cuts which reset the Aircon and set it to 26 ° so if you hadn't realised the power had gone off the room got really warm , the Aircon is preset to 21° and you can not lower it . The all inclusive package doesn't include bottles water but does have water fountains around the pool but the water comes out warm , it would be nice to have bottled water available in chest fridges so that you can help yourself during the day . Apart from these minor issues the hotel offers everything you need for an enjoyable stay .

Let me start by saying we did enjoy the holiday. It was our first holiday with our 11 month old little boy and he loved it. The facilities at the hotel for children are fantastic. There is tonnes of pool space and an ample number of sun loungers, though this was in June and not during the school holidays. There were 2 large pools, 2 baby pools and one somewhere in between. There was also a jungle pool which we never went to. There is also a splash park that is owned by the hotel and located just outside the rear entrance which was, again, brilliant for children. There are two main restaurants and a grill bar. The food was at the better end of the spectrum from what I've experienced with all inclusive holidays and most days I would consider it fantastic, being able to enjoy my food at every meal. The bars were great and you never had to wait more than a minute or two to be served. Estrella was the beer of choice for the all inclusive, which is a lovely beer and the alcohol slushies were very enjoyable. There was always entertainment and activities happening somewhere and the evening entertainment for children was brilliant, though the adult shows weren't so great. All in all it was a great holiday but as I said, it was spoilt by a few simple things. Firstly the aircon in the room was awful. It could not be set lower than 21ºC which for me is still too warm for comfortable sleep, and that was if it worked at all. On two nights it randomly went off in the middle of the night and we were left in a pool of sweat with no way to cool down. Night temperatures outside remained in the high 20s so opening the door would have solved nothing. For me, any hotel claiming to be higher than 3 stars, should have quality air conditioning as it's hard to enjoy a holiday when you're not able to sleep at night. Then we discovered that the fridge didn't work. It was on but it didn't cool anything down. Being unable to cool the room, we thought we could at least put 2 bottles of water in the fridge so we'd have a cold drink to help us cool down. However, when we lifted the water out it was warmer than when we put it in. Again, for a hotel claiming to be 4 stars, it's not unreasonable to expect a quality fridge. I also found the lift doors nearest our room which was 4118, were really dangerous for children. There appears to be no safety feature on them to recognise when someone is in the way of the door and they continue to close regardless of who is in the way. I'm 18 stone and relatively strong and the doors closed on me and almost knocked me off my feet. They also didn't stay open long enough after arriving at the required floor so if there were more than 2 of you in the lift, you could guarantee the doors would close on someone. I wasn't aware of any accidents but would be very surprised if there were none. I know on one occasion we found a terrified little girl in the lift where the doors had closed before she had a time to exit the lift with her parents. Most staff around the hotel were fantastic. The only exception being the restaurant staff. Some were extremely pleasant and other were horrifically rude, to the point that one day I was still eating as the restaurant was due to close. I probably would have been another 5-10 minutes. However, one member of the restaurant staff decided that was unacceptable and decided to try and take my plate while I was still eating, knife and fork in hand. When I protested they tapped their watch and said 'restaurant closed.' There were also a number of times during our stay where we'd asked a member of the restaurant staff for something and they either ignored us or were rude. On one occasion we sat at the table but the cutlery pot was empty, so we approached someone who was clearing the next table and asked if we could get some cutlery. With that they waived us away and said they were busy. As I said, on a whole the holiday was brilliant. There were 15 of us on this holiday and everyone enjoyed it. It's just unfortunate that these few little things let it down and they're things that could easily be resolved. However, they are also things that have made us think that when we book our holiday next year, we'll probably look to try a new hotel rather than coming back.
